Annually in mid-October, Spirit Day is held to support anti-bullying against youth of the LGBT community. People, largely made of students, wear purple to highlight Spirit Day and speak out against bullying. The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) actually has a now-refreshed app to help people share their support for this year’s observance taking place on October 15. The ‘Go Purple for #SpiritDay’ app turns profile pictures purple to celebrate Spirit Day, has quick links to sharing on social media, provides anti-bully resources, and includes a link to donate to GLAAD.
