2016 Honda Accord getting Android Auto
Honda will be adding a connected car platform to their 2016 Accord in the form of Android Auto. Honda unveiled the new Accord during the opening of its expanded Silicon Valley Lab.
The cars will also come equipped with Honda Sensing. This is Honda’s new safety and driver-assisting technology. It will give cars semi-autonomous capabilities, such as lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control which can adjust to the speed of the traffic around you.
John Mendel, Honda’s top sales executive in the U.S., said in a statement:
“Where else to introduce the most technologically advanced midsize sedan, the 2016 Accord, than in Silicon Valley?”
Adding these new technologies is just the start to help drivers stay safe on the road. Honda hopes to cut the collision and fatalities rate in half by 2030 and to entirely eliminate collisions by 2050.
