Reebee shopping list and flyer app returns to BlackBerry World with a new look

Back when BlackBerry 10 launched, one of my favorite apps was Reebee. The app collected all the local flyers in my area and presented them in a way that was easy to read, so I could keep up with any sales that were happening through stores nearby. Eventually, Reebee stopped being updated, and I switched to Flipp, which offers a similar service though I found it to be slightly less reliable when it came to finding all available flyers.

Blizzard has set the US release date for Blackrock Mountain, the next expansion for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, for April 2.

The expansion will become available for the iPad and the Mac in Europe, Korea, Taiwan, and China on April 3. Here’s what fans can expect to see in this latest addition to Blizzard’s hit collectible card game:

You’ll also get an all-new game board, new music, and a host of legendary encounters—plus, each of Hearthstone’s nine classes will have the opportunity to add two brand-new class cards to their collection.

Best photo editing apps for iPhone

Looking for the best iPhone apps to help you edit and tweak your photos to perfection?

As the cameras in our iPhones get better and better, so do the editing tools that are available to us on the App Store. From making a photo brighter to adding a blur effect and even spot healing, great photo editing apps are leaving less of a need for traditional desktop editing software. An iPhone paired with some great photo editing apps let you instantly share your photos seconds after you snap them. These are currently the ones we think serious iPhone photographers should have in their toolkit!

1. Enlight

Amazingly powerful image editing in your pocket

Enlight offers granular controls that are advanced yet easy to work with. You can apply filters, make adjustments, change your mind, and do it all over again. Advanced features such as tone curves, custom presets, and amazingly beautiful and customizable filters have made Enlight one of my go-to image editors.

2. Afterlight

A happy balance between filters & adjustment tools

Afterlight is a lot more than just tasteful filters. There are tons of adjustment, crop, and transformation tools too. Most of which is also available in the Photos app thanks to extensions. It’s my favorite for quick edits because it’s available to me right in the Photos app. For more advanced edits, I fire up Enlight.

3. Fotograf

For film style filters and overlays

Fotograf offers lots of classic filters that you can’t find anywhere else and also lets you blend and save presets that are your own creations. There are also great adjustment tools in Fotograf to help you achieve the exact effect you’re looking for.

4. Snapseed

Super fast editing tools with unlimited possibilities

Snapseed lets you adjust almost any part of an image and then layer that over even more adjustments. You can add filters, adjust focus, and tons more. It may not be as advanced as some of the other photo editing apps available, but it’s super simple to use but manages to offer thousands of possibilities at the same time.

5. VSCO Cam

Edit, sync, & share all in one

VSCO Cam isn’t just an editing app, it can also replace the stock Camera app if you want it to. It can also sync all the photos you’ve edited in VSCO Cam to your other devices. VSCO Cam is well put together, easy to use, and offers some of the most user friendly editing and shooting tools available.

6. Filters

More filters than you can shake a stick at

Choose from over 500 filters, add overlays, and tweak your image to perfection with easy to use adjustment tools. Like Fotograf, Filters also lets you save your favorite combinations for use later. As the name implies, if you love filters, you’ve found the app for you.

7. PhotoToaster

Frames, effects, and adjustments galore

PhotoToaster offers a plethora of filters, frames, effects, and more that are super simple to apply and adjust. You can also view recent edits and EXIF data on your photos which is a nice added touch for anyone curious about that stuff. From selective color to touch up brushes, it’s all available with PhotoToaster, no in-app purchases required.

8. FaceTune

A must have for selfie & portrait takers

No longer do you need desktop editing software to get rid of facial blemishes, whiten teeth, or get rid of things like gray hairs. FaceTune does it all in a matter of seconds. If you’ve ever not posted a photo due to any of these things, FaceTune is for you.

9. Colors

Bold, fun, and colorful filters

Colors lets you apply hundreds of bold filters to existing photos and preview live filters as you take new ones. You can apply multiple colored filters to one photo, make edits, and edit them all in one place. If you’re looking to have some fun with your photos, Colors definitely delivers.

10. Adobe Lightroom

If you use Adobe Creative Cloud

Lightroom for iPhone lets you perform advanced edits, read RAW image files, and access all your Creative Cloud files on the go. It may not be for everyone but if you use Lightroom or Photoshop on the desktop and have a Creative Cloud subscription, there’s no reason not to have Lightroom on your iPhone.

Your picks?

If you do most of your photo editing right from your iPhone, what are your go to apps and why? Be sure to let me know in the comments!

Napkin, the best annotation app for Mac, just got better!

Forget Skitch: My favorite screenshot annotation app is Aged and Distilled’s Napkin.

Not only does Napkin let you annotate single screenshots, but you can also arrange multiple Retina-quality screenshots on a single canvas and export them accordingly. That might sound like niche software, but it’s essential for those of us who need to annotate screenshots for articles, books, interface review, and other jobs involving design or production. Its latest updated, version 1.5, adds a bunch of must-have annotation features including redacting images, cropping them, and new arrow and fill shape styles.

Napkin’s been a favorite since I started at iMore and now it’s even more useful in my day to day. Before this update, I had two complains with Napkin: it had an annoying tendency to slow down when open for too long, and it couldn’t redact screenshots. Both of those nitpicks are vanquished in 1.5: Memory leaks have been plugged, scrolling is faster, and there are three different types of redaction available now.

You can also crop images within Napkin, rather than having to pre-crop them beforehand — a huge boon for tweaking iPhone screenshots — and add rectangular outlines to images to create callouts. Previously, the only way to highlight an image was to draw a flat line around it or drop one of Napkin’s circular callout atop it.

There are lots of other great Napkin features hanging about, including instant pixel measurement of heights and widths with the line tool; an instant PNG save pip, which lets you save a copy of the Napkin canvas as a PNG anywhere you drag the pip; a brand-new, clean, Yosemite interface; better handling of Retina images; and lots more.

We use Napkin for all our help and how-to articles on iMore, so if you’ve been reading us for any length of time, you’ve seen it in action. I’m really excited to use Napkin’s new update in my day-to-day work; you can check out more on Aged and Distilled’s website or pick up the full version from the Mac App store.

Disclosure: Longtime tech pals Guy English and Chris Parrish make up a large part of the Aged and Distilled team; friendship aside, however, they also make great software.
