Google unveils ‘The Google Shop’ located in a Curry’s PC World store in London
Google is predominantly known as ‘the Search Giant’ as well as the guiding force behind the Android operating system, but now it has just opened its very first branded store called The Google Shop. Google’s retail outlet is a store-within-a-store and is located within a Currys PC World shop on Tottenham Road in London.
As you would expect, Google is showing off its Nexus smartphones and tablets, Chromebook, and Chromecast TV devices. Google is also offering a few unusual experiences that include being able to spray paint on a wall with a digital can and navigating on-screen via Google Maps.
Google’s Marketing Director for the UK, James Elias said that:
The pace of innovation of the devices we all use is incredible, yet the way we buy them has remained the same for years. With the Google shop, we want to offer people a place where they can play, experiment and learn about all of what Google has to offer; from an incredible range of devices to a totally-connected, seamless online life
The Google Shop will also host tutorials on how to use various Google apps and Open House events allowing teachers to try out new educational tools. Google plans on opening 2 more Google Shops, in Fulham, West London and Thurrock, which is in Essex. Both shops will also be located within Currys PC World outlets.

Hilarious Apple Watch parody sheds light on why one model costs $10,000
I love Apple season – not because I like their devices, but because of all the parodies that come out to make fun of the devices that Apple has just announced. Of course, most recently Apple has announced its most poorly named device, the Apple Watch, and inextricably released it in three models – two of […]

A LG G4 press image leaks out, seems to show us a bit of a flex
The LG G4 is shaping up to be a pretty impressive device, as its predecessor was, and if a leaked LG G4 press image is anything to go by, it’s going to be a looker too. The image was leaked out by @OnLeaks, and also gives the dimensions of the device, which apparently are 148.9 x 76.5 […]

Android 5.1 Update will hit the Nexus 6 today according to Sprint
If you’re the owner of a Nexus 6, you’ve probably been watching some of the older Nexus devices getting updates taking them to Android 5.1 and wondering, hey, what about me? Fret not, as it seems that the all-important update is set to hit your device later today, according to Sprint at least on its Nexus 6 support page.
According to the support page, the Android 5.1 update will upgrade the Nexus 6 firmware to build LMY47D. If you haven’t received a notification of the update yet, remember you can go into Settings and then About Phone to check manually.

Nova Launcher Beta Launched

Nova’s updated launcher released its second Beta today, incorporating neat features from Lollipop, and inventing some new ones on its own. Some of the updates include full Material Design, which makes all animations, screens, and icons mesh better with the Material Style of Lollipop, new icon settings, unlimited pages, and better folder editing.
Nova has always been a popular launcher, and many people, including me, have used it for quite a while, however, if you are using it on an older device running Android ICS 4.0, your device will no longer be supported after this update.
Since it is only a Beta, you will have to download the apk online, but if you you decide to do so, be sure to contact the development team if you discover any bugs to help make this launcher the well-polished, final product we’ve come to love and respect.

Apple moves to dismiss lawsuit with battery manufacturer over employee poaching
According to a court filing today, Apple has moved to have an employee poaching lawsuit with battery manufacturer A123 Systems dismissed.
This comes just a week after it was reported that Apple was exploring a settlement with A123 after the battery manufacturer accused the tech giant of poaching several of its key engineers.
Reuters reports:
Apple Inc asked a U.S. court on Tuesday to dismiss a civil lawsuit filed by battery maker A123 systems over engineers hired by Apple, saying A123’s legal claims were too speculative to proceed, according to a court filing.
A123 Systems originally filed suit against Apple in February over allegations that the latter hired away five key engineers from the company despite noncompete clauses in their contracts. It’s still unknown what projects the engineers could be working on at apple, but current speculation points towards battery tech for Apple’s rumored Apple Car.

Hamburg is pee-proofing its public places
If you’re the type of man that enjoys dry feet and pants, you’d better think twice before emptying your bladder in Hamburg, Germany. Pee against a wall in the city’s historic red light district and there’s a good chance that your stream will come back to bite you thanks to a coat of nano-paint.
The St. Pauli red light district is one of Hamburg’s top entertainment destinations, attracting as many as 20 million visitors a year with its mix of popular nightclubs and legal prostitution. However, this steady…um, stream of visitors has many of the district’s longtime residents and merchants pissed. Outsiders routinely relieve themselves against walls (and just about any other vertical surface they can stumble into) which leaves much of the mile-long St. Pauli stretch smelling like a latrine.
Now however, the St. Pauli merchants association is fighting back by coating the most heavily-trafficked walls with Ultra-Ever Dry, a hyper-hydrophobic nano paint originally developed by Nissan. When urine (or, ugh, vomit) hits this paint, it splashes back with a vengeance, soaking the offender’s pants and shoes with his own mellow yellow filth.
Even more insidious, the merchants association has only posted warning signs on some of the treated surfaces, so you’ll never be sure if it’s going to be you or the wall getting hosed.

The list of retail stores that accept Apple Pay will be bolstered by the likes of Acme, Albertsons, Anthropologie, Free People, L.L.
