Dungeon Hunter 5 arrives in the Google Play Store
Gameloft has finally brought its next iteration in the Dungeon Hunter series to the Play Store. Dungeon Hunter 5, which is free to download, takes place after stopping the massive demon invasion in the Kingdom of Valenthia that we saw in Dungeon Hunter 4. Like the fourth iteration, Dungeon Hunter 5 provides a great single-player campaign mode as well as co-op and multiplayer modes. The controls are easy to use, just like they’ve always been in the series.

For those new to the series, Dungeon Hunter is an intense hack ‘n’ slash game, based in a fantasy world, that basically revolves around you defeating as many monsters as possible. You’ll get your hands on armor, swords, axes and many other weapons along your journey. All of the weapons and armor you collect are categorized in a certain element type – Water, Fire, Light, Nature and Dark – which will allow you to choose between certain weapons based on the monster you’re currently fighting.
Here are all of the features the new game brings to the table:
- Single-Player Campaign – With your guild, embark on a journey of vengeance as a spirit-imbued hero, sword in hand. You’ll travel through five monster-filled realms and become the most notorious warrior and hunter of them all.
- Cooperative Gameplay – Hire your friends or other players as hired swords to help you on your fantasy adventure full of vile demons, brave warriors, and fearsome dragons.
- Asynchronous Multiplayer – Customize your Guild Stronghold with a large variety of monster minions, manage and defend it, and slash your way through opponent Strongholds to ravage their loot.
- Craft your own gear with no restrictions – Fuse and evolve up to 46 pieces of armor and 150 swords, axes, and more, to become the ultimate Bounty Hunter, slay the mightiest dragon, and bring honor to your guild!
- Five Elements to master – Strategically equip weapons, spells and armor from 5 elemental types – Water, Fire, Light, Nature and Dark – for a powerful advantage against any monster, demon or dragon.
- Daily and Weekly Events – The Daily Dungeon rewards your demon hunter skills with unique materials to evolve and fuse your gear. Or become the top warrior on the Weekly Wanted Challenge leaderboard for the ultimate rewards.
- Unrivaled Hack ‘n’ Slash Action – Discover the revamped controls and animation, bringing your warrior skills to life so you can see even more satisfying monster and demon kills at the end of your sword.
- Superior Graphics – Highly detailed, AAA graphics provide the most stunning fantasy gameplay experience possible on a mobile game.
The game is free to download, but just like other games in the series, there are some in-app purchases ranging from $.99 to $99.99. That has the tendency to scare users away, though we’re confident you can get a great gameplay experience out of this game without purchasing any additional content. If you’re interested in checking out Dungeon Hunter 5, follow the Play Store link below.

NCAA March Madness Live app updated for 2015
As conference tournaments play out this week for NCAA men’s basketball, you may be getting ready for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, commonly known as March Madness. Turner has updated the NCAA March Madness Live app for the 2015 event so you can be ready when things get underway next week.
The update for 2015 brings with it a refreshed look and feel for the app that appears to be consistent with Material Design standards. Some new features for 2015 include team pages with more in-depth information about teams, a “Featured” section that helps highlight storylines from the tournament, and improvements to the bracket picking process on smartphones. This last feature introduces a new list view in addition to the traditional bracket view.
As in past years, you can watch live streaming of all 67 games played in the tournament, although games normally broadcast on certain channels like TBS or TNT will require users to verify they have a paid TV subscription. Unfortunately, it does not look like support for Chromecast was included in the update.
You can grab this free app using one of the download links below.

Apple Seeds Third OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite Beta to Developers
Apple today seeded the third beta of OS X Yosemite to developers, almost a month after seeding the first OS X 10.10.3 beta and a week after releasing OS X 10.10.3 to public beta testers.
The new beta, build 14D98g, is available for registered developers through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store and through the Mac Dev Center.
OS X 10.10.3 brings several new features to Yosemite, including the new Photos for OS X app. Designed to integrate with iCloud Photo Library, Photos for OS X is a replacement for both iPhoto and Aperture and is on track to see an early 2015 public launch. Reviews have suggested that while Photos is a suitable replacement for iPhoto, with more advanced tools and performance optimizations, it may leave professional users disappointed.
Along with the new Photos for OS X app, the first two OS X 10.10.3 betas introduced a redesigned emoji picker that consolidates emoji into a single page with clear labels, new diversified emoji and emoji skin tone modifiers, new flag emoji and updated emoji for the iPhone, iMac, and Apple Watch, and support for Google 2-step verification when setting up accounts in System Preferences.
JXE Streams: ‘Grand Theft Auto Online,’ heists and you
The best laid plans of crooks and thugs lead us to nothing but loot and hugs! At least that’s what we’re hoping happens when we play the newly released heists in Grand Theft Auto Online on JXE Streams. Nearly 18 months after Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto V, the game’s online multiplayer mode finally has heists, new missions in which you and a crew of other players try to execute multi-tiered virtual crimes. Think Ocean’s Eleven but with markedly less George Clooney and markedly more video game violence. We’ll be playing through the very first of the heists to give an overview of how they work on today’s show.
Tune in to this post, Engadget.com/gaming or Twitch.tv/Joystiq to watch the two-hour stream of Grand Theft Auto Online starting at 3PM ET. Ben Gilbert will lead the operation while Anthony John Agnello lends him both his excellent driving skills and moral support.
Enjoying the streams? Check out the upcoming schedule on Engadget.com/gaming and follow us on Twitch to know when we go live!

Latest Waze update helps estimate how long you’ll be stuck in traffic

A week after the announcement that Waze is officially a Google Mobile Services app, Waze has now received an update to version 3.9.4, bringing with it smoother navigation, quicker route selection and an improved experience that it says is 85% faster than before. In addition to a much needed injection of speediness, the app update also brings an unspecified number of general bug fixes, and a few other new tricks like a traffic bar that estimates how long before a traffic jam (hopefully) ends.
Here’s the full changelog, for those interested:
- Experience an overall faster Waze: smoother navigation, quicker route selection, and improved re-routing.
- New traffic bar! Know how long you’ll be in a jam, tracking progress as you go.
- Learn which route Waze is taking with ‘Let’s go via’ voice instruction.
- Get a confirmation when sending your ETA: those receiving can instantly reply ‘Got it, thanks’.
- Improved support for U-turns
- General bug fixes

To grab the latest version of Waze, you’ll want to head on over to Google Play.
Google Messenger adds animated gif support in v1.2 release (Download APK)
An updated version of Google Messenger is making its way out into the hands of Android users which might be a welcome change for some. As noted by Android Police, the 1.2 release of the app offers support for animated gifs in conversation threads. Sure, it seems like one of those things that should have been there all along, but whatever. Additionally, the latest update figures to include a refreshed menu screen with a little more organization.
If you’re the type of person who doesn’t like to wait around for the update to hit your phone, you can install the app directly now (see below). Otherwise, it will roll out in the coming days.

New update for Dropbox for Android brings a PDF viewer and in-document search
Dropbox adds more functionality with its latest update – a PDF viewer. No matter where your PDF was created, you will be able to get a preview of your file without having to leave the Dropbox app. If you’ve downloaded a PDF on your phone and it is saved somewhere outside of Dropbox, you will still be able to view the file within Dropbox even if you are offline.
In addition to the new PDF viewer, users will now be able to search within documents, and that includes PDFs, Word docs, and Powerpoint files. No more need to read through entire PDFs or Powerpoints to find the exact information you are looking for.
For a free cloud storage service, Dropbox continues to lead the pack with features and usability. The update will be available on Google play in the next few days.

A sneak peek at the MixRadio beta for iPhone
MixRadio, a popular music-streaming service on Windows Phone is heading over to iOS and Android very soon. We got our hands-on the Android version earlier this week, but now we have early access to the iOS app, too. It’s not finished yet and it’s currently in private beta, but we like what we see so far. Want to see it action? Check out our hands-on video.
Windows Phone fans who use MixRadio might get jealous. The new design looks really good on iOS and Android. We wouldn’t worry though. We heard this new look would make it to Windows Phone later on.
The MixRadio app has 4 sections that you can quickly access at the bottom of the screen: My Mix, Mixes, Create, and Offlined. My Mix creates a personalized mix by from your favorite genres and artists. The playlist continues evolving as you like or dislike songs. The Mixes section lets you browse through various mixes depending on themes or genres. There are many to choose from. If you don’t like any of the pre-made mixes, you may try the Create a mix section. It lets you create a mix depending on artists you like.
Customizing the My Mix playlist is very easy. It asks you to select multiple genres and artists. The artist selection screen also dynamically suggests artists who you might be interested in. For example, if you select Kanye West, MixRadio pops up Drake and Jay-Z on the artist selection screen.
My favorite feature on MixRadio is offline mixes. You can download any mix, including the personalized My Mix. You don’t have to depend on a network connection later on, so this is very handy on those long road trips or in areas with poor coverage.
MixRadio is currently in private beta, but we like what we see so far. There has been no announcement yet on when it’ll be available at the App Store. What do you think? Would you use it on iPhone? Let us know in the comments.
Dungeon Hunter 5 from Gameloft now available
Last month Gameloft released a trailer for the next installment of the Dungeon Hunter series, Dungeon Hunter 5. The title is now available in Google Play so players can step into the fantasy world and start engaging in some hack ‘n’ slash action. Dungeon Hunter 5 follows the serial nature of previous titles in the series and picks up in a world that is still dark despite the failure of a demon invasion in the Kingdom of Valenthia.
Gameloft includes several play modes in Dungeon Hunter 5, including a single-player campaign that spans five “realms” full of monsters and plunder. Two online gameplay options are available, one a cooperative mode where you work with other players and one called “Asynchronous” in which you are defending your stronghold against other opponents.
Dungeon Hunter 5 includes the ability to fuse together your own gear from 46 pieces of armor and 150 weapons for unique combinations, which can be enhanced with rewards from daily and weekly events. Players will also have to work on mastering five different elements – water, fire, light, nature and dark – to enhance and power up their weapons, spells and armor.
The basic game is free, but does include in-app purchase. Weighing in at 1.3GB in size, you will probably want to make sure you are on WiFi before trying to install Dungeon Hunter 5, which you can grab from the Play Store using one of the download links below.
