Grab a BlackBerry Classic from Amazon today for only $403
Normally, I wouldn’t even bother putting on pants to save 10% but when it comes to electronics, it’s sometimes worth it and such is the case with the BlackBerry Classic. Right now, Amazon (US) is hosting a little bit of a sale on the latest BlackBerry QWERTY designed to meet the needs of productive people who appreciate the speed and accuracy that can only be found with a physical keyboard.
LoginTC two-factor authentication solution now available for BlackBerry 10
Although there are several two-factor authentication apps for BlackBerry 10 available already having another option to choose from is great and Cyphercor Inc. has now announced their enterprise-grade, cloud-based two-factor authentication solution LoginTC is now available on BlackBerry 10 as a native app.
Whether you need an SMB, Enterprise or even Government account, LoginTC can accommodate the situation with their free starter or paid professional and enterprise accounts allowing you to secure everything from your personal WordPress blog to an enterprise RADIUS server through their connector add-ons.
BlackBerry issues security notice for OpenSSL FREAK vulnerability
BlackBerry has now officially issued a security notice for the OpenSSL vulnerability better known as “FREAK”. Early reports had suggested that some BlackBerry operating systems (in addition to Android, iOS, OS X some of which have already been patched) were vulnerable to the attack which could theoretically be used to intercept what should be a secure HTTPS connection and downgrade the encryption to “export-grade”, which is much easier to crack.
How to set automatic replies for internal and external addresses on OS 10.3.1
When I’m out of the office I always make sure I turn on my out of office rely messages. Normally, when this option is activated on your device, the message sent is what both people outside and inside your organization will see. By default, it enables only the inside your organization message.
For those of you familiar with Microsoft Outlook, you know that it goes one step further and allows users to create a separate reply for both. What this means is that if you created an out of office reply on your device, it required you to either be on Outlook or Outlook Web Access to set up the other reply.
HTC will stream its big “Uh-Oh” announcement Wednesday at 9am PT

HTC is counting down the hours until it’s big “Uh-Oh” announcement, which will begin on Wednesday, March 18th at 9am PT (11am CT). As of right now, we’re not quite sure what the term “Uh-Oh” means in this case. HTC has posted the countdown video on its site, and you can find it by heading to HTC.com/us/uh-oh.
The HTC event that’s happening tomorrow was alluded to by the company’s own Jason Mackenzie just yesterday. On Twitter, he said:
HTC has a BIG announcement for US customers on Wednesday. #HTCOneM9
While Mackenzie didn’t specify what details will be outed in the announcement, we have a feeling that it has to do with the One M9‘s U.S. availability. Multiple carriers in the United States have announced that they’ll eventually carry the One M9 sometime in “early Spring”, though we haven’t heard any information beyond that.
Last year when HTC announced the One M8, the company made it available exclusively on Verizon that same day. Needless to say, that got customers pretty excited, so we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what we hear tomorrow. For now that’s just speculation, so we’ll need to wait for official word from HTC during the “Uh-Oh” event. If you’d like to watch the event, you can check out the YouTube video below. If not, Android Authority will surely keep you updated as HTC announces more details.
If the HTC One M9 becomes available tomorrow, will you pick one up?
Make your BlackBerry even more efficient as Inbox Zero arrives in BlackBerry World
Another productivity application has been rolled out this week by BlackBerry 10 developers Emberify. Inbox Zero allows the user to snooze emails for future reminder, similar to Mailbox and Inbox by Gmail. Like most apps, it won’t be for everyone, but if removing the risk of not replying to emails is paramount to your business then Inbox Zero could be a life saver.
Hands-on with Hub2Watch – get all Hub notifications on your Pebble smartwatch
If you’re a Pebble smartwatch user, Hub2Watch is an app you’ll want to get. It was released recently and goes hand-in-hand with Talk2Watch Pro. While Talk2Watch is by far the best third party Pebble app we have for BlackBerry 10, there are still some limitations in terms of notifications and Hub2Watch helps to bring more notifications to your wrist. Follow on as we go hands-on with Hub2Watch.
Better Passport support and several new icons added in the latest BProfile update
One of my favorite BlackBerry 10 applications for making great social network profile pictures as been updated today, bringing an array of new icons as well as some improvements for Passport users.
BlackBerry OS 10.3.1.2558 update files now available for download
** UPDATE ** – Several more regions have now started getting the OTA update officially. Canada, India, Austria, UK, South Africa and more! If you’ve gotten the update OTA, let folks know in the comments.
If you’re still waiting for BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 to arrive on your device via OTA, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer due to several issues found in the update that caused BlackBerry to put it on hold temporarily in some cases. However, all is not bad. We have some good news as well!
