The Nvidia Shield Portable has been around for a quite a while now, so it should come as no real surprise to learn that Nvidia is planning to release a new version of the device with updated hardware and firmware.

According to the Bluetooth and WiFi certification websites, the refreshed Nvidia Portable will include the following features:

  • Model number: P2523
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
  • 801.11 a/b/g/n/ac Dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz WiFi and WiFi Direct
  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • Firmware version 3.10.61

No other details about the rest of the next-gen Shield Portable were available, but it would be surprising if it didn’t arrive with a higher resolution display, more RAM and Nvidia’s beefy Tegra X1 processor (like the rumoured refresh of the Nvidia Shield Tablet). What features would you like to see included?

Wifi Alliance
Bluetooth S.I.G.
