The Snapdragon 810 chip is known to be suffering from overheating issues and the HTC One M9 appears to be the latest victim. One of the demo units of the handset was shown to be getting an overheating warning back during the MWC a couple of weeks ago. If this wasn’t enough to raise alarm bells, a new report certainly will.

It is said that while running the GFXBench app, the smartphone had a temperature of 55 Celsius (131 Fahrenheit) which is quite out of the ordinary. A regular smartphone would heat up to 30-40 Celsius, so it’s clear that the One M9 has some serious issues which could hamper usage.

It is said that these issues were the reason Samsung backed out of using the Snapdragon 810 on the Galaxy S6. The Snapdragon 810 reportedly starts heating up only on certain voltage levels. Keeping that in mind, this could be a complex problem for Qualcomm to solve.

Will this impact your decision to get the HTC One M9? Sound off below.
