Lollipop spotted on Sony Xperia C3, but that doesn’t mean consumers will get it
Over the weekend we reported on Sony’s apparent plans to release the Android Lollipop update to their Xperia Z series line of devices and only the Z series. This conclusion was based on the responses users on Twitter have been receiving from Sony’s support reps. Sony’s position seems to have taken a curious turn since then as some screenshots have popped up that appear to show Android Lollipop running on a Sony Xperia C3.
A few possibilities exist for what looks like contradictory information coming from Sony. The first, and probably preferable one for owners of Sony devices, is that the social media support reps for Sony are simply mistaken about the company’s plans for Lollipop on their devices. The reps may have been provided information about Lollipop on the Z series and somehow the communication was interpreted as the Z series were going to be the only set of devices to get the update. If that were the case though, it seems someone higher up in the Sony organization could have issued a statement to clarify things.
Another possibility is that Sony is still testing Lollipop on other devices in their portfolio and has not made a decision about an actual release. Sony could have tested Lollipop already and determined it would not roll out the update to the mid-tier and lower-tier devices they sold. The screenshots that were revealed could have been remnants from that testing process.
For now, owners of non-Z series Sony devices will have to continue to play a waiting game to see if they may eventually get an official Lollipop update on their devices.

Apple TV gets a new price: $69

It’s been a long three years since Apple refreshed its streaming box, the Apple TV. And it looks like that won’t be changing anytime soon. That’s not to say the company has forgotten about the platform; in fact, since the last hardware update, Apple has made its set-top ecosystem more robust by adding a myriad of third-party entertainment apps, making the tiny box a must-have for most any living room. Today, at its highly anticipated “Spring forward” event, Apple announced that Apple TV will now start at $69, $30 less than its previous retail price.

How the Microsoft Band will beat Apple’s Watch
Am I really positing that the Microsoft Band will beat the Apple Watch? Yes, I am.
How will they accomplish this you ask? While Apple is diligently courting the elite, Microsoft is purposefully launching out into the deep, and they are aiming to commandeer the seas.
Today Apple is priming the masses for the Watch’s maiden journey into the “waters of wearables” (see our coverage on iMore). Microsoft by contrast is more subtly and methodically building a system to immerse itself in the developing currents that are directing the wearables market.
Google’s latest Android Wear commercial has nothing to do with … that other watch
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know full well that Apple is showing off its Apple Watch today. Again. That’s great, and it has absolutely nothing to do with Android Wear, which is what Google’s showing off in this latest spot.

Six months after the Apple Watch’s unveiling, Apple’s “Spring Forward” media event in San Francisco today will give us final details on the device ahead of its launch next month. We could see a few other announcements as well, but given the tagline and timing of the event, the Apple Watch will undoubtedly be the focus of today’s proceedings.

Ahead of Apple Watch event, Google debuts new Android Wear ad
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMB2LbpHVxk
As many of you likely know already, today is the day that Apple is expected to unveil the full details for the Apple Watch. It is still unclear exactly how well the watch will do on the market, but Google certainly doesn’t want us to forget about Android Wear in all the kerfuffle. That’s why, less than an hour before the Apple Watch event, Google has now released the latest Android Wear ad.
The ad showcases a variety of different AW watches, worn by folks with all sorts of different fashions. As you’d expect, it ends with the Google’s recent “Be together. Not the same” moniker. As for the Apple Watch, do you think Apple’s first smartwatch will drastically change the game? Should Google and its partners be worried, or is it more likely the other way around?
