Acer announces the Liquid Z520 with DTS Studio Sound and Touchless Selfies

It’s the first day of MWC 2015, and we have Acer warming things up for the big HTC and Samsung announcements later on. So far, Acer has announced the Liquid Leap+ Smart Activeband and the mid-range Liquid Jade Z handset. Now we have the entry-level Liquid Z520, with specifications, images and press release available after the break.

Specifications:

• 5-inch display with WVGA (480 x 800) resolution
• Snapdragon 400 processor
• 1GB of RAM
• Upto 8GB internal storage
• 8MP rear-facing camera and LED Flash
• 2MP front camera
• DTS Studio Sound speakers

The Acer Liquid Z520′s design is inspired by Thai silk apparently with a silver pyramid mid-frame. Software-wise, the Liquid Z520 includes a voice-activated selfie camera and will go on sale in Europe in April for €109 ($122). The 8MP auto-focus, rear-facing camera comes and LED flash to produce sharp, brilliant shots. Both music lovers and video fans no longer need external speakers, DTS™ Studio Sound will deliver astonishing stereo sound with bigger sound field, higher vocal clarity and more natural details. 

Both smartphones include Acer’s Quick Mode with 3 distinct profiles for different customer and age groups: 
• Basic Mode: for youngsters with fixed call and text functions 
• Easy Mode: for silver surfers with access to quick messages, radio, weather, clock, quick call contacts 
• Standard Mode: for the advance smartphone user familiar with the Android interface.
