T-Mobile Expands ‘Binge On’ Free Video Streaming to PBS and More
T-Mobile has announced that its free unlimited video streaming program Binge On now supports over five additional video services, including Azubu, Dailymotion Games, Eyegroove, PBS, PBS Kids, and more. Binge On now supports nearly 90 video services in the United States.
Binge On enables customers on a qualifying Simple Choice plan to stream unlimited 480p video from dozens of partnered services, led by Netflix, HBO NOW, Hulu, and YouTube, without any of the data consumed counting towards their monthly data bucket.
T-Mobile expanded Binge On to thirteen additional video services in May, including NBC and video content from existing Music Freedom partners Google Play Music, Radio Disney, Spotify, and TIDAL, after adding 16 new Binge On and Music Freedom partners in April. YouTube, Google Play Movies, and others were added in March.

T-Mobile’s new Uncarrier move gives company stock to subscribers
John Legere has spent basically his entire tenure as T-Mobile CEO sweetening the deal for new and current customers, and today his largesse took a very peculiar form. As part of the newly announced Uncarrier 11 initiative, T-Mobile launched StockUp, a new rewards program that grants one share of company stock to every T-Mobile primary account holder. Those folks can bank up to 100 shares a year by referring their friends — not too shabby, considering shares are currently valued at $43.62 and T-Mobile’s strong financial growth could nudge that number even higher.
The deal is even sweeter for long term loyalists: customers who have been around for at least five years get two shares for each newcomer they refer. Legere joked that T-Mobile customers are collectively his boss now, but don’t get any ideas — there are probably some stringent financial mechanisms in place you keep you and a few hundred thousand friends from staging a hostile T-Mobile takeover.
There are a few caveats to be aware of, though. This deal is only for consumer postpaid subscribers, and you’re out of luck entirely if you use T-Mobile subsidiary MetroPCS.
Legere live-streamed the news from New York City, an event that also saw the company roll out another rewards program called T-Mobile Tuesdays. Every week, the company plans to give out freebies through a T-Mobile Tuesdays app that’s now live in Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store. Legere says the program includes “food, movie tickets, gift cards, subscriptions, ridesharing and more,” though the first week’s gift is a free ticket to go see Warcraft. Considering the reviews we’ve seen so far, you might want to see what comes free next week instead. On the flip side, you’ll also be able to access recurring freebies like free Vudu video rentals and medium Domino’s Pizzas.
Oh, and to ease the intense boredom that sets in on long flights, T-Mobile customers will get one hour of free Gogo in-flight wi-fi and free in-flight messaging on iMessage, Google Hangouts and Viber for the duration of your time in the middle seat.
T-Mobile Unveils ‘T-Mobile Tuesdays’ Perks, Stock for Customers and Free In-Flight Wi-Fi
T-Mobile CEO John Legere today hosted an Un-carrier 11 event, where he announced T-Mobile’s latest customer perks, which include a new app that offers weekly freebies, customer stock options, and free in-flight Wi-Fi on domestic flights.
T-Mobile is releasing a new T-Mobile Tuesdays app, available now, with freebies available every Tuesday. Starting tomorrow, T-Mobile customers can get perks like food, movie tickets, ride-sharing credits, and more. Some of T-Mobile’s partners include Domino’s Pizza and Wendy’s.
Tomorrow, all T-Mobile customers will be able to get free frosties and a ticket to the upcoming movie Warcraft. T-Mobile Tuesdays will also include weekly giveaways for trips, with tomorrow’s raffle consisting of a Warcraft viewing party with a party bus that can accommodate 40 friends. Extra rewards come from sharing on social networks.

T-Mobile is also giving a share of T-Mobile stock to every primary account holder and customers who switch to T-Mobile from another carrier. For every customer who brings another customer to T-Mobile, T-Mobile will offer an additional share. Customers can receive up to 100 shares of T-Mobile stock per year. Customers who have been with T-Mobile for more than 5 years will get two shares of stock per referral.
Customers can claim their share starting tomorrow through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app, which will walk customers through the brokerage process.
T-Mobile’s final announcement brings a full hour of free GoGo Wi-Fi to T-Mobile customers for every domestic flight they’re on, allowing customers to use Google Hangouts, Viber, WhatsApp, and iMessage.
Over the course of the last two years, T-Mobile has aimed to disrupt traditional mobile service with its 11 “Un-carrier” initiatives.
The company began with uncoupling device costs from service costs in 2013, and then went on to offer several additional incentives to encourage customers to switch to the carrier, including paying early termination fees, offering a JUMP! upgrade plan, unlimited texting and 2G data in 100 countries, free streaming music from Spotify, Rdio, iTunes Radio, and Pandora, one week free trials to test the T-Mobile service, Wi-Fi calling, data rollovers, low-cost plans for businesses, and free “Binge-On” video and music streaming.

T-Mobile leads the big four in customer satisfaction survey
T-Mobile has outranked the rest of the big four carriers in the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), knocking Verizon off its throne. While prepaid company TracFone Wireless remains at the top of the wireless provider list, it only got a point higher than T-Mo, which has scored 74 out of 100. That’s six percent higher than its result last year, though Sprint has shown the most growth with an eight percent increase. T-Mobile became the third largest (un)carrier in mid-2015 and even gained 2.2 million new customers in the first quarter of this year. It has launched new no-contract options in recent years and expanded the features of its controversial Binge On offering.
AT&T and Verizon didn’t do poorly — the former got 71 percent, up from 70 last year, while Big Red got 71 percent like it did in 2015. However, it was Sprint’s and T-Mo’s scores that brought the average wireless provider satisfaction up by 1.4 percent from last year. When it comes to phone manufacturers, Apple is now at the top of the pile with 81 percent after spending a year tied with Samsung. The Korean company now comes in at a close second (80 percent). They’re followed by Motorola with 77 percent, HTC with 75 and LG and Microsoft, both with 74 percent.
ACSI also tracked cable TV companies and ISPs, as you’ll see in its report. But in all, wireless providers did a lot better than any of them. Despite getting higher scores than last year, for instance, Comcast and Time Warner Cable are still among the companies with the lowest customer satisfaction ratings.

T-Mobile creates service plan for visitors to the US
Tech-savvy travelers heading out from the US know how to make their (unlocked) smartphones work abroad: buy a pre-paid local SIM and add credits as needed. Sure actual international plans exist, but they’re usually more expensive than they’re worth. Today, however, T-Mobile’s flipping the script by offering a Tourist Plan for visitors to the US. The service, which goes live June 12th, costs $30 and lasts for three weeks, giving visitors unlimited data (LTE up to 2GB, though!), domestic and international texting and 1,000 voice minutes for domestic calls. What’s more, T-Mobile’s not charging for the SIM card or activation. In all, it’s a pretty good deal and cheaper than the company’s other prepaid options. So if you were hoping to stay connected and share the minutiae of your US adventures with your followers back home, now you’ve got a solid option.

T-Mobile Debuts $30 Tourist Plan Featuring 2GB of 4G LTE Data
T-Mobile has announced a new $30 prepaid Tourist Plan for international visitors to the U.S. that offers 1,000 minutes of domestic calling, unlimited domestic and international texting to over 140 countries and regions, and unlimited 2G data with the first 2GB at 4G LTE speeds.
Tourists visiting the U.S. can visit a T-Mobile store with an unlocked GSM smartphone, sign up and pay for the plan, and receive a free SIM card to access the carrier’s network. The one-time, one-line plan lasts 3 weeks and cannot be renewed after automatically expiring at 11:59 p.m. on the 21st day of service.
International phone numbers cannot be ported to the U.S., so T-Mobile will assign customers a new U.S. number when they sign up for the Tourist Plan. International calling from the U.S. to other countries is not included in the plan and cannot be added as an additional feature, but customers can use Wi-Fi-based calling services.
The Tourist Plan includes 200MB of U.S. data roaming, but other T-Mobile perks such as Mobile Without Borders, Binge On, and Music Freedom are not included. The plan permits tethering, with Mobile Hotspot using data from the 2GB allotment of 4G LTE data, followed by slower speeds afterwards.
The new plan is available June 12. Postpaid and T-Mobile@Work customers are ineligible.

T-Mobile’s New Family Plan Offers 4 Lines With 6GB LTE Each for $120
T-Mobile has announced a new Family Match promotion that offers families four lines of unlimited talk, text, and 6GB of 4G LTE data per line for $120 per month starting May 11. Additional lines can be added for $20 per month.
As America gets set for summertime travel, summer camps, summer concerts and more fun in the summer sun, the Un-carrier’s got you covered. Starting tomorrow, families can get 4 lines with unlimited talk, text and data with 6GB of Un-carrier Data per line for just $30 a line – a savings of $20 per month for a family of four on T-Mobile Simple Choice with Family Match. Additional lines are just an extra $20 each per month with 6GB.
The deal is not quite as good as T-Mobile’s past Family Match promotions, including the same four-line deals with unlimited LTE per line for $150 per month or 10GB of LTE per line for $120 per month, but it does provide Simple Choice customers that missed out with another savings opportunity heading into the summer season.
The limited time offer is available for new and existing Simple Choice customers on approved credit, and the promotion can be combined with T-Mobile’s other offers, including Binge On, Data Stash, JUMP! On Demand, Mobile Without Borders, and Music Freedom. T-Mobile will also pay up to $650 of your early termination fees if you switch to their carrier from AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint.
The new Family Match plans are available starting Wednesday at T-Mobile stores across the U.S. or by calling 844-222-1927.

T-Mobile customers can roam in Cuba
As US-Cuban relations thaw, Western businesses have moved in and started paving the way for tourism. Sprint and Verizon made arrangements last fall with Empresa De Telecomunicaciones De Cuba, S.A. (ETECSA) last fall to get their vacationing customers can use text, data and voice within the country. T-Mobile just announced a similar deal with the government-owned Cuban telecommunications company for roaming privileges and cheaper calls into the island nation.
While the other Western telecoms beat it to the Communist nation, T-Mobile’s agreement also includes cheaper calls to Cuban landlines and wireless numbers under its Stateside International Talk option. They weren’t the first to get benefits, but at least Simple Choice customers won’t have to use burner phones or swap SIM cards during their Cuban vacations when the roaming deal kicks in this summer.
