Square Enix is in a bit of a celebratory mood today. They are currently hosting a flash sale on Hitman GO for its first year anniversary. Typically the reinvented puzzle style game sets a would be player back $4.99. For a limited time, those of you that want in on the action can snag it for just $0.99.
Playing as Agent 47, you will attempt to complete your missions in a turn based strategy style of gameplay. No running and gunning will be found in this title. At $4.99 it is a bit of stretch. While the graphics are nice and the gameplay challenging sometimes, it can get a bit dull after a while. For $0.99 it is a steal to have when you want to put your brain powers to work.
Go grab Hitman GO while you still can at the sale price.

Meerkat looks to Android for a chance at beating Periscope
Can an Android launch save Meerkat? SXSW must seem like a long time ago for the folks behind the livestreaming app that took Austin by storm back in March. It was just a few weeks later that Twitter launched Periscope, which, thanks to the social network’s clout and a better user experience, has quickly become the streaming app of choice. Right now both services are iOS only, though, and Meerkat is hoping to hook the hundreds of millions of Android users on its app with a public beta launch.
You can sign up for the beta here, but there’s no date for when the app will actually be available. Getting to Android before Twitter has a chance to launch Periscope is definitely a good tactic for Meerkat, although doing the same on iOS hasn’t stopped the app from fading into insignificance. According to analytics firm Topsy, Periscope streams were roughly three times more prevalent than Meerkat as of last week. Twitter has also confirmed that Periscope is on its way to Android “soon,” so there’s a good chance that it’ll launch on Android first anyway.

LG seems to be doing their best to keep their current, and past, devices updated. Especially on AT&T. The Now Network has pushed out the Lollipop update for the LG G3, while not everyone has it yet, it is out there. Today they are beginning the update process for the flagships predecessor, the LG G2. The update officially comes in with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and weighs in at 725MB’s Making it one of the smaller Lollipop updates I have personally seen so far.
You will get all the awesomeness that is Lollipop like the lock screen notifications, bolder colors and fluid animations. It will also remove the browser bar and Famigo along with the AT&T Code Scanner and Beats Music. Current stock LG G2 owners will need to make sure they have well over 50% battery life, a solid Wi-Fi connection and some time to kill for the file to download and the update to complete. To check for it you will want to head to All Settings > General > About phone > Software update > Update now.

Continuing on the trend of what I think I will call AT&T Lollipop week, we have two more devices getting the sweet treat. Just moments ago I alerted you guys the LG G2 seeing an update to Android 5.0, now I hear that the Galaxy S5 Active and, lower tiered, Galaxy Alpha are both seeing updates now as well. Unlike the smaller G2 update, which was 725MB’s, these updates are 1GB and 1.4Gb respectively. Guess which device gets the larger one?
The update brings in a lot of new UI enhancements for both devices along with a plethora of redesigned Samsung apps that are more inline with Google’s Material Design guidelines. The colors are bolder and sometimes brighter. You will also see the lockscreen notifications and Smart lock. It should be same update that the Galaxy S5 started to receive a week ago.
Like all other updates, they are rolling out in stages. You might be lucky and se it today, or you might not see it until the end of the month. At least you know it is out there legitimately though. Head to Settings > About device > Software Update > Check for Updates. If you see it is ready, then make sure you have well over 50% battery life, a solid Wi-Fi connection and some time to kill for it to download/install.

Google launches new Google Handwriting Input app, does what you think

One of the cool things that the Galaxy Note line of devices offered was an input method that allowed you to write your words and have them turn into text. I used it on occasion, but it required the Samsung Keyboard and I preferred the Google Keyboard for my text input. Google has now released an app that brings similar functionality to not just Note owners who might miss the written input, but also to any Android device out there. The app is happily named Google Handwriting Input.
Don’t fret, you don’t need a stylus to take advantage nor do you need to work on your letter printing either. Although, I am sure that some handwriting skills to make words and letters at least somewhat recognizable will help. Google says it will recognize printed letters and cursive along with various emoji’s. Simply meaning you can actually draw a smiley face and have it land in your message. International Android users need not get upset either, unlike some apps that are US only, this one is global and supports 82 languages currently and works on devices sporting Android 4.0.3 and up. So, yes, your 3-year-old tablet should be able to use it too.
Head to the Play Store and pick it up as soon as you have a chance and see what you think. Who knows, maybe it will be able to decipher your long-lost art of writing.

It is a happy Wednesday for owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on Verizon’s network this morning as the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is starting to roll out. The update brings your flagship slab to version VRUEOB6 and brings along all the Material Design changes from Google and Samsung. You will see brighter colors, more fluid animations, lockscreen notifications and Smart Lock to name a few of the little perks.
As usual, the update is trolling out in stages across Big Red. That means not everyone will see the update this morning, or today for that matter. To check to see if you can grab it now head into the Settings > About Phone > Software updates> Check for updates and then Download Now. You will want to make sure you have well over 50% battery life, a solid Wi-Fi connection and plenty of time to kill while the update downloads and installs.

Volkswagen’s latest ‘Gran Turismo’ concept is a 500-horsepower hatchback
For those who think Volkswagen’s Golf GTI and Golf R hot hatches just aren’t “hot” enough, the carmaker’s latest virtual concept for Gran Turismo 6 (PlayStation 3) may be up your alley. The GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo offers up more than 500 horsepower in a hunkered-down, all-wheel-drive, two-door hatch that’s slightly faster than its real-world inspiration. In fact, the carmaker says this virtual concept can hit 62MPH (100KPH) in about 3.6 seconds.
Of course, Volkswagen isn’t the only company showing off concept cars on GT6‘s digital tracks. We’ve also seen futuristic rides from the likes of Renault and Nissan. And VW itself released an earlier concept, called the GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo. This latest virtual offering, on the other hand, more closely resembles the hot hatch it’s based on. But whereas the real-world GTI makes do with 210HP (220 if you opt for the Performance Pack), this in-game concept boasts 503HP and 490 pound-feet of torque. All told, Volkswagen says that’s enough to propel the digital ride on to a top speed of 186MPH (300KPH).
So if the real world’s upcoming 395HP Golf R400 just isn’t enough for you, you can grab an even faster (albeit digital-only) Golf via Gran Turismo 6‘s latest update (version 1.18). Once you’ve updated the game, the car should be up for grabs in the Vision GT area of the Cars section. Alternatively, VW says you can currently also earn the car by completing a lap in the Seasonal Event mode.

Apple finally realized that audiobooks aren’t music
Have you scratched your head wondering why Apple would put audiobooks in iOS’ music player, rather than… y’know, a book app? So has Apple. Besides a redesigned music app, the early iOS 8.4 beta also moves audiobooks into iBooks, where they arguably should have been all along. You’ll also get must-have playback features like chapter selection and a sleep timer. It’s not certain when 8.4 will be ready for the public (WWDC, perhaps?), but it’s already obvious that this is much more than a simple bug fix.

Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference begins June 8th
If you’re wondering what Apple will do next with its mobile devices and the Mac, you won’t have to wait too long to find out. The tech giant has announced the 2015 Worldwide Developer Conference, which starts on June 8th. It’s not providing too many clues as to what will be there, but you can apply for tickets now — and you’ll have the option to stream sessions live if you can’t make it out to San Francisco. It’s safe to say that the event will include news on software for the Apple Watch, iOS and OS X, and it won’t be shocking if Apple has something to say about a new streaming music service or a next-generation Apple TV. Whatever happens, you know we’ll be there to give you the full scoop.

easyJet’s iOS app is now your personal guide to Gatwick
easyJet already has a mobile app that many airline peers would do well to take inspiration from. Beyond storing electronic boarding passes, the app lets you manage bookings, track flights and even check in using a photo of your passport. The low-cost, tech-savvy airline has made its app that much better today, though, with new features that’ll guide you through every step of a journey from London’s Gatwick airport. Prior to departure, the app will prompt you to check in and remind you of your baggage allowance, but the so-called “Mobile Host” really kicks in when you get to Gatwick. Once it sees you’ve arrived, a push notification will tell you where to dump your bag, and direct you there using indoor maps courtesy of Google. If you’re just taking carry-on, then it’ll point you towards the departures area instead, and once through security, you needn’t keep your eyes glued to information screens, since it’ll let you know when your gate opens and how to get there.
And when you get back from your trip, sunburnt and rested, Mobile Host will pipe up again and tell you what baggage carousel you need to head to. This new functionality is now live within easyJet’s iOS app, but the airline said there are no current plans to bring the feature to Android. There’s a very good chance that it’ll expand beyond London Gatwick, however, with easyJet saying “we are looking at this for numerous other airports across our European network.”
