LG’s 2nd Watch Urbane is the first Android Wear device with LTE
Tonight LG took the wraps off of its new V10 phone and its latest smartwatch, the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. Like the first model, it has a circular display but one-ups its predecessor by arriving as the first device to combine Android Wear with a built-in cellular connection for calls and data, so you can leave your phone at home — something even the upgraded Apple Watch can’t do. LG already had a webOS-powered Watch Urbane LTE that could go it alone, while Samsung’s Gear S ran Tizen. Packing Android Wear means this watch should have more apps ready for internet-connected use even when your phone and WiFi are out of range. Behind its 1.38-inch 480×480 res P-OLED display there’s a 570mAh battery that LG claims can still last through the day with the help of a Power Saving Mode. There’s no word on price or exact release date yet, but it’s coming to the US and Korea first.

Samsung’s Gear S2 smartwatch goes on sale October 2 for $299

Confirming earlier rumors about the device’s availability, Samsung has just announced that its Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic smartwatches will be available for purchase Friday, October 2nd in the United States. The standard Gear S2 will be available for $299 and the Gear S2 Classic will run you $349. You’ll be able to purchase the wearables from Samsung.com, Amazon, Best Buy and Macy’s.
As a refresher, the Gear S2 is a Tizen-powered smartwatch that features a 1.2-inch circular display with a resolution of 360 x 360, and it’s powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and comes with 4GB of built-in storage. There’s also NFC on this device, which will enable users to purchase goods from stores around the world using Samsung Pay. Quite possibly the biggest news with the Gear S2 is that it will be compatible with other Android devices, unlike other Gear smartwatches in the past. There might be a few hiccups in app compatibility here and there, but for the most part, you’ll be able to use Sammy’s new wearable with your non-Samsung Android phone.

Samsung’s Gear S2 smartwatch arrives in the US October 2nd
After a number of teases, Samsung finally revealed its Tizen-driven Gear S2 smartwatch earlier this month at IFA. If you’ve been champing at the bit to purchase one, you’ll soon have the chance to do so. The wearable goes on sale this Friday, October 2nd in the US. When it does, you can expect to nab one from Amazon, Best Buy and Macy’s in addition to Samsung’s own online store. If you’re in need of a refresher, there’s two models to choose from, the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic, which are priced at $300 and $350, respectively. The difference? The Classic sports a classier look in a smaller size with a black leather strap and a bit more detail around that rotating bezel. If you’re willing to hold out for the 3G version, it’s set to arrive “later this fall” on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
Fossil Q is the watchmaker’s first ever Android Wear smartwatch
Fossil is one of the world’s biggest watch manufacturers, and they’re getting their feet wet with in the smartwatch market with the Fossil Q.
The Fossil Q is the company’s first attempt at an Android Wear smartwatch, and it looks like one of the more compelling designs we’ve seen on some of these connected watches. It features a design worthy of the Fossil brand, and it’s powered by Intel and Google’s wearable platform.
While it isn’t revolutionary in terms of what a smartwatch can do, it does offer a companion fitness app to track your steps and activity. Plus, it’ll have all of the available apps that Android Wear offers, which is a pretty robust ecosystem to buy into.
Fossil plans on releasing the watch later this year during the holidays, but they haven’t said anything about pricing. I wouldn’t expect this one to compete on price since it’s a Fossil, but we’ll know more in the next few months.

Pebble Time Round smartwatch announced, up for pre-order
Pebble is arguably the first successful smartwatch manufacturer, and we’ve seen some great updates from them in the past year or so. Pebble Steel and Time were both highly praised additions to the family, and it looks like we can add another name to that list. Meet Pebble Time Round.
As the name indicates, this is Pebble’s first round smartwatch. It’s the thinnest and lightest smartwatch ever made, and it runs on the updated “Timeline” OS that we saw launch with Pebble Time. You can expect a color e-paper display, flanked by those four buttons — one on the left side, three on the right — that Pebble users will surely find familiar.
Pebble is claiming roughly two days of battery life with this new smartwatch. It looks like there’s been a focus on fast charging, as the Time Round can supposedly get enough juice to power through a full day in just a 15 minute charge. It will be interesting to see if original Pebble owners will migrate to the new, round watch, given that the original Pebble could easily last a week on a single charge. Pebble Time Round will use a proprietary charger not unlike the one made for the previous models.
From what we can see, there is more focus on customization with this watch as well. There are three different colors that are coupled with a 14mm band, and two with the 20mm band. So overall, buyers will have five choices with the Time Round. It is also worth nothing that, according to the product page, metal bands are coming soon. It retails for $249 and you can order one directly from Pebble. Keep in mind that the watch won’t ship for 6-8 weeks, so you won’t be able to get your hands on it right away.

Pebble announces its first round smartwatch, the Pebble Time Round

Pebble has just announced the Pebble Time Round, the company’s foray into the circular smartwatch world.
It’s super light and thin, weighing only 28 grams and measuring just 7.5mm thin, and comes in two different band sizes – 20mm and 14mm. Color options include Black, Silver and a special Rose Gold option that’s only available with the 14mm band size. It still features a colored e-paper display that we first saw the company introduce with the Pebble Time earlier this year, which means the Pebble Time Round’s battery should last longer than comparable smartwatches with LCD displays. Pebble says the Time Round will last “days” on a single charge, though it probably won’t last as long as the Pebble Time or Pebble Time Steel. The good news is, though, the Time Round features quick charging capabilities that can get you a full day of use from just a 15 minute charge.

The Pebble Time Round is now available for pre-order for $249.99 from Pebble’s website, as well as Best Buy, Target and Amazon. Watches will start shipping and will be available at other U.S. retailers in November. Retail availability will begin later this year in the U.K., followed by EU retailers early next year.
The Pebble team is offering Pebble Time Steel Kickstarter backers a trial period and discount for the Time Round. You’ll need to reserve a Pebble Time Round from Pebble’s website with the same email you used to back the Time Steel on Kickstarter. You’ll get a $50 discount on the watch when it ships. You can then try out both watches for 30 days.
If you’d like to keep both of the watches, the Time Round is yours for the discounted price. If you’d like to return one of them, you’ll get a refund for your Pebble Time Round order. What are your thoughts on the new Time Round?
Pebble launches the world’s thinnest and lightest smartwatch, the Time Round
Pebble announced today the launch of its first fully circular smartwatch, the Pebble Time Round. At just 7.5mm thick and weighing only 28 grams, the Pebble Time Round is the world’s thinnest and lightest smartwatch. The watch has an all-metal construction, with a 38.5mm face and comes with many customization options.

The watch’s circular display does have a thick bezel, however having a smaller display does allow to increase battery life, something Pebble has been prioritizing throughout their product line. Despite that effort, Pebble has sacrificed battery life for design with the Time Round as its thinner form-factor means a slimmer battery. In fact the watch can go for two days before needing a full charge, in contrast to a week for previous models. To compensate, Pebble claims that the watch can charge very quickly, and can operate for 24 hours with a 15-minute charge. The Pebble Time Round has an always-on 64-color e-paper display with backlight.
The watch is splash resistant, or IPX7 certified (unlike other Pebble watches that are water resistant), so you can still wear the watch while washing your hands however you will not be able to submerge it in water. Finally, just like the Pebble Time, the Pebble Time Round has a built-in microphone and now has 4 buttons positioned around the sides for navigation and control.
To please a wider range of customer, Pebble focused on customization with their new watch. The Pebble Time Round comes in one-size-fits-all, however has a 20mm strap option for men, and 14mm strap option for women. The watch also comes in three different colors; Black, Silver and a special-edition Rose Gold for the 14mm strap size. Finally you can download new watch faces to further personalize the watch.
Although battery life has been compromised on the new Pebble Time Round, its new design will definitely attract new customers as the trend for circular smartwatches, or smartwatches that look more like real watches seems to be growing in popularity. In addition, according to Pebble, the watch is “So light and thin, it’s pretty easy to mistake Pebble Time Round for any other watch.” The Pebble Time Round starts at $249, and can be reserved at Pebble.com Best Buy, Target, and Amazon. The Time Round will start shipping and will be available at US retailers in early November.

T-Mobile will start selling the Apple Watch September 25th
Well folks, it seems the rumblings were in fact correct. T-Mobile will begin selling the Apple Watch this Friday when it’s also scheduled to hit shelves at Sprint. As you might expect, Big Magenta is offering some zero down and zero interest options (while supplies last, it seems) for two years to make Cupertino’s wearable even more attractive. The payment plan only applies to the Sport models which are $349 (38mm) and $399 (42mm) if purchased at full price. When you do the math, that’s $14.54 and $16.62 for 23 months with the final payment for each going up a few cents. If you’d prefer the pricier Apple Watch you’ll have to shell out the entire $549 (38mm) or $599 (42mm) to take one home. Full details on the available models and band options reside at the source link below.
