Samsung Galaxy A5 Specs and Price “Leaked” by Kazakh Retailer
Samsung’s Galaxy A5 is the first of its kind: a mid-level device with high-level metal design. However, due to a mistake from Technodom, a retailer in Kazakhstan, the Galaxy A5 will be landing without some of the splash it could have had had certain information been kept secret.
We now know that the device will feature a Snapdragon 400 processor, 5 MP front camera, 13 MP back camera, and a 5 inch 720p display. The price in Kazakhstan will be 99,990 Tenge, or $552. Although, usually prices in America are a bit lower, so we can expect it to be in the $450-$500 range stateside.

Security expert finds vulnerability in Samsung’s Find My Mobile service
Samsung’s Find My Mobile service has come under fire by NIST and security researcher Mohamed Baset regarding an exploit that allows attackers to remotely lock, ring or wipe Samsung devices. Baset points to a vulnerability in Samsung’s service that doesn’t validate the lock code information it receives, allowing an attacker to flood the device with network traffic and do their bidding. No word from Samsung on a patch, but for now we recommend disabling the service until they address the security issue.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note Edge touches down in South Korea
Following a successful launch in Japan earlier this month, Samsung has today released its first curved phablet, the Galaxy Note Edge, in South Korea. The handset is available to purchase in either black or white colorways through SK Telecom for an eye-watering 1,067,000 Won — approximately $1015.
In terms of performance, the Note Edge is a very impressive high-end smartphone, packing a 5.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 pixels, an Exynos octa-core System-on-Chip, 3GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel shooter, 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD) and a 3,000mAh Li-Ion battery.
Out of the box, the handset will run the latest build of Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface plastered over the top. The device is, however, expected to be one of the first on the market to receive the much-anticipated Lollipop update when it’s distributed later this year.

SmartThings brings its home automation app to Windows Phone
Samsung promised an open platform when it purchased SmartThings, a startup that aims to make every household more intelligent with its products. So, despite the automation service already being present on iOS and Android, the most popular mobile operating systems, SmartThings is opening its doors to a fresh audience: Windows Phone 8. The SmartThings app is great for people looking to upgrade their home but that were, perhaps, hesitant to do so because of the ecosystem’s lack of support for Windows Phone handsets. Most home automations platforms have some sort of integration with iOS or Android from the get-go, leaving Windows Phone users out of options. As such, this is a great move by the Samsung-owned SmartThings. Once you download the app, you’ll be able to control SmartThings devices with ease — and if you haven’t invested yet, maybe now it’s the time to start thinking about creating your own Smart Home.

Samsung Galaxy A7 makes appearance on benchmark site
We have seen a few leaks surface for the Samsung Galaxy A7, but the latest appearance on the GFXBench benchmark site may provide some of the best information yet regarding the device. Unfortunately, one datapoint throws some confusion into the mix. Previous leaks showed the Galaxy A7 having a 5.5-inch screen. However, the entry in the GFXBench database lists the device as having a 5.2-inch display. We will have to wait to see what the final size it. Despite that bit of uncertainty, the rest of the specs look to be solid.
The display, whatever size it ultimately ends up being, is listed with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 which is consistent with a previous report that the device would have a full HD display. Powering the device is a new octa-core processor, the Snapdragon 615. This is a step up from the Snapdragon 410 processor that is becoming common in non-flagship devices as well as the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5.
The new database entry with GFXBench also reveals the Galaxy A7 will come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and will be running Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
We still don’t have pricing or availability information for the forthcoming A-series phones from Samsung.

New Samsung Galaxy A7 details come to light
Samsung’s next smartphone offering goes by the name of the Galaxy A7, but what wasn’t as certain was the stated screen resolution of the yet-to-be announced device.
Whilst some rumours were circulating suggesting the Galaxy A7 may feature a 720p screen, others were contradicting them with a 1080p screen.
A recent User Agent Profile finding confirms that the screen will in fact be 1080p, and couple that with the 5.5-inch screen, gives the Galaxy A7 a 400ppi pixel density.
The leak also reveals the Galaxy A7 will have a 64-bit processor that will be clocked at 1.5GHz. With no definitive date as to the A7’s release date, we await Samsung’s next announcement to see the Galaxy A7 in the flesh, but it’s rumoured to carry a $450-$500 price tag.

A new pairing of Galaxy Note 4 advertisements are rolling out now. They highlight two of the biggest selling points for the massive Samsung device. The first aims to prove how powerful the Galaxy Note 4′s camera is while the other is all about the S Pen. A wide range of events and uses are covered by the ads. Both end by asking whether or not you know how to Note.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Android Lollipop update should hit sometime in December
Android Lollipop is now officially released for all and for all of us who don’t own Nexus devices, now begins the excruciating wait for software updates to the latest version of Android. With various manufacturers making their promises for when their devices are going to be updated, many people have turned their attention to Samsung to see if the Android giant is going to do anything differently than it has in the past. As it turns out, it might, as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Android Lollipop update is allegedly going to be available sometime in December.
This information comes to us via SamMobile, who’s sources have narrowed their previous claim down from “November or December”. SamMobile has also already given us a sneak peek of Android Lollipop on the Galaxy S5 so when the update does finally roll out, it’s unlikely that we’ll see anything that’s too foreign to us. It’s worth noting that while December is the quoted window for this update, depending on your region, the update may not end up reaching you for a few more weeks after it is officially released. At least we know it’s coming though.

Samsung Galaxy S 5 to get Android 5.0 Lollipop in December
When Android 5.0 Lollipop launches soon, Nexus devices will be the first to receive the latest version of Android. From there on out, it is up to hardware manufacturers to work on updating devices. Owners of flagship devices should expect to see a software update before anyone else. HTC is committed to pushing Android 5.0 to within 90 days of its launch, but Samsung has not given a timetable.
A new report claims that the Galaxy S 5 will get the software update in December. This would be for the global version of the device; therefore, United States owners of the Galaxy S 5 should expect it early in 2015.
