If you are getting more and more excited the closer it gets to June 12th, the release date of Jurassic World, then this may well send you over the edge. Or at least to Best Buy anyway, because the retailer has teamed up with universal Pictures and Samsung to bring an exclusive clip of the film to selected Samsung devices.
The clip allegedly contains a big reveal, and can be viewed at the Samsung Entertainment Experiences at Best Buy stores until June 12th. Are you going to pop down to your nearest store to view the exclusive clip?

Samsung is rumoured to be updating the Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.1.1 by end of July
While some Galaxy Note 4 owners are yet to see Android 5.0.1 on their devices, having to make do with KitKat 4.4, others have been using Lollipop on their devices for a while already. And now it seems that the Samsung is allegedly busy sorting the ingredients out for the next batch of firmware updates for the handset.
According to SamMobile, Samsung is busy prepping Android 5.1.1 for the Galaxy Note 4, with the aim of rolling it out to handsets by the end of July. Hopefully all Galaxy Note 4 owners, regardless of the carrier or variant, will be able to enjoy the Android 5.1.1 update. Samsung’s work is never done though because we all know what the question will be after the Android 5.1.1 update is (eventually) rolled out. That’s right, when is Android M coming?

It’s been a pretty messy year of software updates and plenty of people are left wondering when their Android Lollipop fix is going to come. In particular, the Android Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been a long time coming, but thankfully the wait might not be for much longer. According to a report by SamMobile, the update for the Note 4 will be rolling out by the end of July, though as always, don’t expect to have Lollipop by July 31st on the dot – your upgrade could lag a few weeks depending on where you are in the world.
Still, it’s good news that Samsung hasn’t forgotten the Note 4, and in turn, its other devices like the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3 which are next in line for the update in the near future – assuming Android M doesn’t come out before then.

“Okay, Google” command from any screen returns to Galaxy S6

Google confirmed, and we verified, that the “Okay, Google” hotword command is now working again on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
The feature has been broken for weeks, and the fact that the option to activate it was completely missing from the Settings section made some users believe it was an intentional omission by Samsung. As it turns out, the reason was a plain old bug, or more precisely a conflict between the Google app and Samsung’s own voice command feature, S Voice.
A Google representative announced on the company’s product forums that the problem has been fixed. In order to get the feature to work, you will need to have the latest Google app update (4.5 or higher, the current one being 4.6). If you have the latest version and you can’t see the feature, try uninstalling the updates to the Google app and then updating it to the latest version. That’s how our Nirave managed to get it to work on his Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Worst case, you may need to clear the cached data of the Google app, though that means you will be signed out of your Google account.
One more thing: because of said conflict with S Voice, enabling “Okay, Google” from any screen will disable S Voice, except for the times when the screen is off. Basically, you will have to decide between the two assistants, but we’re pretty sure that won’t be a problem for many of you.
Android Authority this week – May 31, 2015

Android fans, it was an amazingly busy week in the Googleverse. At its annual developer conference, Google introduced Android M, which brings few visual changes, but many much needed improvements and refinements, including doze mode, better volume controls, Android Pay, app state back up, and Google Now on Tap. It wasn’t just M; Photos is now an independent app; Project Brillo was announced as Google’s new IoT operating system; updates were announced for Inbox, Google Maps, and the Play Store; and Google ATAP blew our minds with its new projects – Jaquard, Soli, and Abacus. In other news Lenovo showed off some crazy concepts; Sony introduced the Xperia Z3+; the Galaxy S6 Iron Man edition launched; and Microsoft unveiled Cortana for Android.

It probably won’t be a surprise that we spent this preparing for Google I/O, and from Thursday, in a mad dash to bring you all the news coming out of Google’s announcement-packed conference.
We’re all pretty excited to try out Android M, and most of the team is already rocking the M developer preview on various devices. Google only touched on a fraction of the changes and new features in Android M, and we’ve been busy perusing the developer previews to spot all the new stuff. To keep up with everything, check out our Diving into M series, where we take a closer look at the smaller new features in Android M.

Google I/O is over, but the tech world is still revving at full speed. This week, Darcy attended Lenovo’s TechWorld conference and over the next days he will be reporting from Taipei, where Computex is about to start. Computex has always been Asus’ stomping ground, and this year is no different. We expect to see the Zenwatch 2 and some updated tablets come next week.
In celebration of Google I/O, we’re giving away a Nexus 9! Get your ticket for our weekly giveaway from here.

Which portable hard drives are worth buying?
With all our computers, phones and cameras, we create a lot of data. And while there are plenty of cloud-based options for storing all the information you generate, many people prefer something they can physically touch. A portable hard drive can give you plenty of control, while still making it possible to carry your data around in your bag. But which drives make it easy to transfer files to them in the first place? And which ones will survive the trips you take them on? We’ve taken a look at some of the better portable drives available now to find out which ones have the right stuff.
Possible prototype of the Galaxy S6 mini leaks out with Snapdragon 808
The Samsung Galaxy S6 mini might have possibly been leaked out courtesy of GFXBench. The smartphone with the model number SM-G9198 is shown here and is carrying a Snapdragon 808 chipset as well, indicating that this could be a legitimate leak and a variant of the Galaxy S6.
Other features of this mystery smartphone include 16GB of native storage as well as 2GB of RAM, so it might not be as high end as we were expecting. In the camera department, this device is shown to be packing a 16-megapixel rear camera as well as a 5-megapixel front camera, so there could be something here for the camera enthusiasts.
Android 5.1.1 is running by default, so all the bases seem to be covered here. We’re waiting for a detailed word on the smartphone, so it’s too early to jump to conclusions at this point.

Samsung Project Valley could be a foldable, dual-screened smartphone coming in the near future

Just in case anybody has forgotten, Samsung promised in November 2013 that flexible, foldable displays would be possible in 2015. Fast forward to today in 2015 and some news has recently dropped regarding a certain Samsung Project Valley, which SamMobile alleges is potentially related to a foldable smartphone. It’s not a bad guess given the connotation that Project Valley, or Project V, presents, and is apparently a concept in very early development at Samsung involving a device with two screens.
Now before you get too excited, we do have to remind you (and ourselves) that this is just a rumour, and even if it is true, being a concept project, it’s possible that Project Valley will never see the light of day. Still, with dual screen devices like the YotaPhone gaining massive interest, we could definitely see a dual screen, possibly foldable Samsung smartphone being a very popular device. Only will time will tell, as usual.
What do you think about the prospect of Project Valley and a foldable smartphone? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Did you see the recent announcement that Samsung is producing a special edition Samsung Galaxy S6 edge tied to the Iron Man character?
