You can now download the Samsung Galaxy S5 firmware
With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5 only a few weeks away, you can now download an official firmware for the device.
The firmware is actually from the Chinese SM-G9009D Android 4.4.2 KitKat model and the build date shows March 12th, so it’s a recent build.
Having early access to the Samsung Galaxy S5 firmware means that developers can get to grips with the code for the new features found on the device and also begin porting apps to the older devices.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 firmware can be downloaded from here.

See what Samsung’s new phone is like with the Galaxy S5 Experience App
Are you still on the fence about getting a Samsung Galaxy S5 when it is finally released in April? Have no fear as Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Experience app is here to help you make your mind up. Featuring multiple interactive and video resources, the Galaxy S5 Experience app will walk you through some of the Galaxy S5′s features including its camera, speed, fitness and life features.
The Galaxy S5 Experience app will also give you an overview of Samsung‘s new wearable devices including the Samsung Gear 2 and the Gear Fit as well as introducing you to some of the accessories that will be available for the Galaxy S5. This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen something like this as LG made a similar app to this one prior to the LG G2′s release; we can’t say it’s a bad effort either as it does give a nice overview of the Galaxy S5′s more appealing features.
If you’re interested in trying out the Galaxy S5 Experience app, Play Store links will be below. What do you think about the Galaxy S5? Will a simple Experience app be able to sway your decision? Let us know what you think.

T-Mobile circles March 24 for Samsung Galaxy S5 pre-orders
T-Mobile on Thursday announced that preorders begin for the Samsung Galaxy S5 on March 24. Keeping with its tradition of attracting customers, the Uncarrier will offer the flagship device at zero down and payments equally spread over 24 months.
As for that cost, the $27.50/mo equates to $660, or about what everyone else is doing. The chief difference here is that T-Mobile will not lock you into a service contract and you can cancel service whenever you’d like. You’ll have to pay off the remaining balance, of course, but you get the gist. Don’t forget that you can also break your existing carrier’s contract and bring your family plan to T-Mobile. Do so and the magenta ones will pay off your early termination fees.
“This thing is so hot we’ve already seen over a half a million pre-registrations for the Galaxy S 5,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. ”That’s a lot of very smart people grabbing this opportunity to pay nothing down, save more than a grand over the life of the other guys’ contracts, and have T-Mobile pay off every penny of their family’s early termination fees. It’s a brilliant move.”
On March 31 T-Mobile will offer the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 with a limited discount of $120 off the normal price. As is the case with other tablets purchased through T-Mobile, you’ll get 200MB of free data for the life of the device. Note that this promotion is available while supplies last.

AT&T Starting Gear Fit, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Galaxy S5 Pre-orders Tomorrow
It is almost time for all the carriers to officially launch the Samsung Galaxy S5. The first word we have heard so far comes in from AT&T. The Samsung Galaxy S5 will start the pre-order process March 21st, that is tomorrow, and will set you back a typical $199.99 on contract, $25 a month with AT&T Next 18 or $32.50 month AT&T Next 12. If you prefer to drain your bank account, you can also opt to buy the device at full price, which will be $649.99. Pre-orders are said to start shipping in “early April”.
Along with the Galaxy S5 AT&T is also getting the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit ready for customers. Pre-orders will start for all three of those device tomorrow too. Contrary to the pricing details from an earlier post, the Galaxy Gear 2 will be $299, only a $4 difference. The Galaxy Gear 2 Neo and Galaxy Fit will be $199 . We expected the Gear 2 Neo to be closer to $250, but we will take the price cut.
If you plan to buy both a Galaxy S5 and either a Gear 2 or Gear 2 Neo, AT&T has a special little promo that they will be running to help you out a little. If you pick up one of the mentioned watches and the S5, you will save another $50. The Gear Fit doesn’t appear to part of the promo though. The $50 off promo will be good from March 21st through June 5th, or while supplies last.
