Norman Reedus and Hideo Kojima reunite for ‘Death Stranding’
Hideo Kojima made a stunning entrance during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, showing off an enigmatic yet intriguing opening to a game entitled Death Stranding. After the chilling Silent Hills, featuring Norman Reedus in the lead role, fell through, it’s interesting to see what will become of this new partnership.
The latest from Kojima Productions, Death Stranding could potentially be different project from the one Kojima has previously been touting, although it wasn’t explicitly stated.
The footage shown during the conference revealed a crying Norman Reedus as he held a newborn baby to his chest, overcome with grief, as it appeared the child had soon succumbed to death. Soon after he discovered his hands stained with a black, ink-like substance.
Death, it appears, is this man’s curse. Of course, knowing Kojima, the video was obviously meant to be extremely enigmatic. Here’s to hoping all becomes clear soon.

Watch Sony’s E3 press conference right here
It’s hard to imagine Sony topping its E3 press conference from last year. Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian and a remake of Final Fantasy VII was a pretty jaw-on-the-floor combination. Still, this year could be a doozy too. We’re nearing the launch of the PlayStation VR, so a few extra game announcements wouldn’t go amiss. Throw in a new God of War and some fresh footage from Gran Turismo Sport, Dreams and Horizon Zero Dawn — that’s a packed show already. To keep up with the madness, you can watch Sony’s livestream right here (there’s also an audience camera feed for the full you-are-there- feeling) and follow along with the Engadget liveblog.

‘God of War’ is coming to PS4
Kratos is back — and he brought his axe. Sony kicked off its E3 2016 press conference with a familiar face, as we’re finally getting a new God of War game on PS4. Moving on from last year’s God of War III remake, Sony has a new game that looks bigger in scale than anything we’ve seen before, which is saying something for this series. Kratos took on a giant and just before the end of the stage we saw…a dragon? Check after the break to watch the nearly 10-minute gameplay trailer yourself, just don’t expect any details like a release date just yet.

‘The Last Guardian’ finally arrives on October 25th
At last, that pesky bird rodent is almost ready to roam. The long-awaited, long in-development, The Last Guardian will hit PS4 on October 25th. The trailer didn’t show us much else (there appears to be multiple giant ratbirds…) but the game seems as melancholy and stylish as ever. Take a look for yourself below.
‘Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ goes after the cartel on March 7th
Ghost Recon: Wildlands made its first appearance at Ubisoft’s showcase last year, but now we get to see it in action in a new sumptuous gameplay trailer. The terrain is particularly beautiful, and as we heard last year, vehicles are a major part of traversing it all. In the (seemingly edited together) demo, GRW seems to involve an almost constant stream of bro-talk from your fellow soldiers, but it at least offers an audio-based way of keeping you up to date with your teams progress. The attack on the Bolivian-based cartel starts on March 7th next year, on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
‘Prey’ reboot arrives in 2017
Yes, the Prey franchise is still alive — but you’ll want to forget that ill-fated sequel from years ago. Bethesda used its E3 event to unveil a series reboot, simply called Prey, that shares little (if anything) in common with either the 2006 original or the since-discarded follow-up. Arkane’s shooter puts you in the shoes of Morgan Yu, an experimental subject plunked aboard a space station and tracked down by invading aliens. You’ll have to use weapons, tools, and “mind-bending abilities” to win. Bethesda is only committing to a 2017 release window, but the new Prey will ship for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Here’s everything we saw at EA’s E3 ‘Play’ event
Today, video game juggernaut Electronic Arts kicked off this year’s Electronics Entertainment Expo with a show all its own. If you weren’t a member of the press or one of the lucky few fans that were let into the event to experience it firsthand, don’t worry: We’ve collected all the trailers that made their debut on The Novo theater’s stage and put them in one handy spot for you. Want a look at the new multiplayer trailer for October’s Titanfall 2? Look no further. How about FIFA 17’s intriguing single-player story mode? We’ve got your back there as well, with a few other bits like a new glimpse at Battlefield 1’s World War I action. Join us below, won’t you?
‘Titanfall 2’ explores the human-robot link on October 28th
EA isn’t waiting until its big E3 shindig to say more about Titanfall 2. The publisher has followed up leaks by posting a trailer revealing the first few details of Respawn’s next robotic shooter, including its widely-reported single-player campaign. You take the role of Jack Cooper, a Militia soldier who links with a Titan after its previous pilot is killed in action. From all indications, that human-robot connection will play a central role in the story — your Titan is as much a friendly helper as it is a relentless war machine.
As for the actual gameplay mechanics? There are six new Titans for multiplayer play as well as more weapons, greater customization (including new pilot skills) and a “robust” progression system. Titanfall 2 should drop on October 28th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We suspect that EA might have more to say about the game at its E3 event at 4PM Eastern today (the 12th), but what’s public is already a good indication of what to expect.
Update: EA showed off multiplayer at its E3 event (you can see the trailer below), and there are fresh movement elements such as grappling hooks and sliding. Naturally, this also gives you a good peek at the new Titans and weapons. And to round things out, there’s news of a multiplayer test ahead of the game’s launch, if you want to see what all the fuss is about.

‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ gets Lando and Cloud City on June 21st
You won’t have to wait too much longer to fill the Cloud City-sized hole in Star Wars: Battlefront’s content. EA has revealed that the promised Bespin DLC will arrive on June 21st for Season Pass holders, and two weeks later (July 5th) for everyone else. As before, the highlights of the paid add-on are the introduction of Lando Calrissian and Cloud City — you’re getting everyone’s favorite administrator-turned-general as well as a much-needed change of scenery.
The add-on also brings the bounty hunter Dengar and two fresh weapons (a blaster and a sniper rifle). There are also promises of new game modes, star cards and more, but EA is hush-hush on those details. You probably won’t know the exact value of the Bespin DLC until close to launch, then, but the odds are that it’s much like the Outer Rim pack. It’ll make the most sense if you’re either completely hooked on Battlefront, a Star Wars completionist or both.
