Leaked Nexus 5X case reveals all, arrival imminent?
We’ve already seen several convincing leaks of the alleged Nexus 5X – A successor to 2013’s Nexus 5. With an announcement date around the corner (possibly October 13) , we get another peek at what could be Google’s next Android phone. This time, thanks to case maker Ringke and the infamous leakster @evleaks.
There appears to be a USB type-C port on the bottom, with no buttons on the left side of the phone, meaning they’ll likely all be placed on the right.
A cutout for the fingerprint scanner is below the camera, and there’s also a cutout for the flash and most likely for what will be laser focus, all of which fall in place with leaks this far. Perhaps the most appealing aspect it the two front facing speakers.
Rumored Specs for Nexus 5X
- 5.2-inch 2K display
- 13MP camera
- 3GB RAM
- LTE Cat 9 with support for 450Mbps speeds
- Fingerprint scanner
- Snapdragon 808
- 64-bit hexa-core processor – Adreno 418

You can get a good idea of what the Nexus 5X looks like from these case renders

Intrigued by the Nexus 5X? Renders from case listings on Amazon may give you a good idea of what to expect in terms of appearance.
The renders come from a familiar source: case manufactures looking for an early marketing lead who create unofficial renders of upcoming devices. These renders are based on product schematics that phone makers share with accessory companies ahead of new phone launches. The images are typically accurate in terms of the general dimensions and layout of ports and buttons, but case makers don’t know the finer details, like the material or finish of a device.
The Nexus 5X renders below come from Spigen and Ringke, two case makers that have released accurate phone renders in the past, most recently with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

A source has confirmed to Android Authority the design of the upcoming Nexus 5X – from images we have seen, we can say that these renders (as well as the images leaked by Android Pit a few days ago) are spot on.
The LG-made Nexus 5X is expected to feature a Snapdragon 808 processor, a 5.2-inch Full HD display, and a fingerprint sensor on the back. According to our sources, the device will be around $50 more expensive than the original Nexus 5. We’re just weeks away from the expected September 29 launch, so everything should become clear very soon. In the meantime, we can’t rule out even more revealing leaks, so keep it tuned for more Nexus 5X coverage.
Google posts LMY48M factory images for current Nexus devices

Just yesterday, T-Mobile announced a number of over-the-air updates for various Nexus devices, containing “Android security enhancements” and “minor bug fixes” for each device. Now some time has passed, and Google has finally published the official factory images for these latest security patches. Last August, Google told us we’d receive monthly security-focused updates for current Nexus devices, which was announced in the wake of the Stagefright exploit.
For the most part, all of the new factory images come with version number LMY48M, except for Nexus 6 owners on T-Mobile who will want to download version LYZ28J. If you happen to have a Nexus 6 on Project Fi, you’ll want to download version LVY48E.

New factory images are up for the Nexus 4, 5, 6, 7 [2013] (Wi-Fi), Nexus 9 (Wi-Fi and LTE models) and Nexus 10. If you’d like to flash these updates for yourself, head to the link below to grab the latest versions.
LMY48M update heading out to Nexus devices

T-Mobile has just released a selection of updates for its Nexus 4, Nexus 5, 6, 7 and 9. The builds come with the LMY48M label for the most part, although the Nexus 6’s latest update is a LYZ28K build and the Nexus 7 has version LMY48P.
T-Mobile’s changelogs are rather brief. They simply state “Android security enhancements” and “minor bug fixes” for each device. The updates are also rather small, topping out at around 29MB at the largest. Most likely, this is Google’s promised monthly security update for its range of handsets and tablets, which was announced in the wake of the Stagefright exploit.

Customers should spot an OTA update notification in the near future. The files can also be downloaded from T-Mobile’s website, where you will find installation requirements and instructions too. Here are the links:
The updates haven’t appeared as factory image downloads over at Google just yet, but they should pop up any time soon for those who want to manually flash the patch.
Leaked Huawei Nexus case lends further weight to presence of circular fingerprint scanner
Google is announcing its new Nexus smartphones on September 29th, and that means that the leaks are going to keep coming, with increasing frequency and accuracy. Today, we have images of a case for Huawei’s Nexus device, lending even more weight to the likelihood of it sporting a circular fingerprint scanner on the rear of the device.
The images were posted on Twitter by serial leaker, @OnLeaks. In the main image above you can see the cutouts for the 3.5mm audio jack on the top of the case while on the rear there are cutouts for the camera/flash and circular fingerprint scanner. You can also see how the case makes provision for the handset’s protruding bump that runs across the top of the device housing the camera sensor.
As for the case itself, well, it seems to be of the generic type made of plastic and often referred to an ‘S-Type’ case. It’s usually quite affordable and quite often, long-lasting as well. We don’t have too much longer to wait until Google reveals all, both about the Huawei Nexus device and LG’s alleged Nexus 5X device. If you’re a Nexus fan, which new Nexus device are you most looking forward to getting your hands on? Let us know in the comments.

Nokia C1 render shows up as a Android-powered smartphone
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
Despite the fact that Nokia is unable to get back into smartphones until 2016 – courtesy of their agreement with Microsoft after selling off their devices business – there have been quite a few rumours surrounding future devices that could be released once Nokia is allowed to release smartphones again. The latest rumour surrounds the device called the Nokia C1, pictured below, which is the only evidence provided by this report, which we inevitably have to take with a grain of salt at this point in time. This isn’t the first time that the Nokia C1 has been mentioned, previously being rumoured to have a 5-inch 720p display, Intel processor, 2GB RAM and 8MP camera.
It’s worth noting that the last time Nokia spoke about the possibility of working on smartphones again, they mentioned it would most likely be in a design and licence type situation where they would design the device and have their branding on the device, but an external manufacturer would make the device for them, which is exactly what happened for their brilliant Nokia N1 tablet. It would also explain why the device in the renders looks nothing like existing Nokia devices, except maybe the Nokia N1, which was manufactured at Foxconn.
What do you think about the Nokia C1? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

LG Nexus 5X (2015) shown off in the clearest picture yet
The LG-made Nexus 5 2015 model, also known as the Nexus 5X, is no stranger to the camera having been leaked multiple times before, but this time we’re got one of the clearest images we’ve seen so far.
The only detail that seems different about this device is that we have previously seen the LG logo along the bottom of the device below the Nexus logo on the rear of the casing but it would appear that it may have been removed for the final design.
This is by far the clearest shot we’ve seen of the Nexus 5X and shows the pretruding camera (expected to be 12.7-Megapixel), dual LED flash, and fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device.
The Nexus 5X is expected to have a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a 2,700mAh non-removable battery, and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
Likely to be announced around September 29th, the Nexus 5X could only be a few weeks away. What are your thoughts of the Nexus 5X?

Google will unveil new Nexus smartphones on September 29th in San Francisco
We’ve been hearing tons of rumors lately about Google’s upcoming lineup of Nexus smartphones, and it looks like we’ll finally see them officially unveiled in late September. The company is set to hold an event in San Francisco on September 29th, just in time for the holidays.
We’re expecting two Nexus devices, one of which will be a larger Huawei device and the other will be a smaller LG phone. These devices will probably be among the first Android devices to run Android Marshmallow, which we typically see with Nexus devices.
We’ve got a pretty solid idea on what both smartphones will have in terms of hardware, but pricing is still up in the air. Before the Nexus 6 last year, Google tried to set a trend with low cost devices. There’s no telling which direction the new Nexus devices will go, but we’ll know for certain by the end of the month.
