Google puts two Nexus 6 cases in the Play Store, labeled as “Coming soon”

stand_folio_case_nexus_6

Purchase a new device? Its time to accessorize. Accessories, believe it or not, are a big reason a person will purchase a specific device. It is a way to personalize the device. With the Nexus 6, Google will have options available directly through the Play Store. There are two cases listed in the Play Store, both manufactured by Case-Mate.

The first, and the expensive, case is a stand folio. Called the Stand Folio Case, it props up the Nexus 6 for longer viewing sessions. It also stores things like IDs and credit cards with a few slots on the inside. The backside has a cutout for the camera but it will be blocked when the front cover is opened and folded over. The Stand Folio Case costs $40.

The other is the Naked Tough Case with a $35 price tag. It is your standard hard shell case meant for production. It is has no color as it is clear, so you can still show off just how nice your Nexus 6 is. The Naked Tough Case has an integrated stand that is somewhat unnoticeable due to the clear design.

Google’s Nexus 6 finally gets priced in the UK: £499 for 32GB, £549 for 64GB

Nexus 6

It’s been almost a month since Google officially unveiled the Nexus 6, but UK fans have been left in the dark over a price and a release date. Today, we can tick one of those off the list. In preparation for its local launch, the search giant has finally updated the Play Store to show how much the Motorola-made Nexus phone will cost. You’ll need to pay £499 to get your hands on the 32GB model or £549 is the 64GB variant is more your style. Google is staying quiet on when the Nexus 6 will actually go on sale, but with Vodafone and other resellers recently announcing they will stock the device, we bet that a release is just around the corner.

Nexus 6 sold out in minutes; will replenish every Wednesday

Nexus 6

The Nexus 6 is one popular device it seems. As usual with a Nexus device, the first couple of times you can purchase one it is sold out quickly. This was the case with the Nexus 6 last week, and the same today. In fact, I was going to write an article informing everyone about availability, until I looked to see they were sold out already! This happens every year. When I got my Nexus 4, I had to wait 3 months after initial release.

However Google is going to try to make things different this time. On the Nexus 6 Play Store page, there’s a message underneath the price that says the following:

“We are getting more Nexus 6 devices in stock as soon as possible. To make things simpler for you, we will work to make more devices available each Wednesday and encourage you to visit the site then.”

They go on to say that AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular will have availability later this month (Verizon is oddly absent here…).

If you’d like, you can bookmark this page and check out the widget below to see when the Nexus 6 will be available. Check back and it will update when there’s availability.

Otherwise, check out the widget in the right sidebar throughout the site that says “Is the Nexus 6 available today?” which will take you to a site that says the same thing as above.

Are you trying to get a Nexus 6 but are having trouble getting one?

Hump Day: Google will make more Nexus 6 devices available every Wednesday

Nexus 6The Nexus 6 has so far been an elusive beast, despite not even having been officially released. While pre-orders went live last week, it appears very few people have actually been able to place an order for the highly anticipated device, leaving plenty of people wondering when the next lot of devices are going to become available. As it turns out, new units will be available as soon as tomorrow as Google made a statement regarding the Nexus 6’s future availability:

“We are getting more Nexus 6 devices in stock as soon as possible. To make things simpler for you, we will work to make more devices available each Wednesday and encourage you to visit the site then.

The Nexus 6 will also be available in AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular stores later in November. Please check with your local carrier store for more information.”

Google clearly has a penchant for doing things on Wednesday with most Google app updates falling on Wednesdays as well – soon enough, tit’ll be known as “Google Wednesday” or “Google-day”. It’s interesting that Google still isn’t giving a solid date for the availability of the Nexus 6 in brick and mortar stores, as if ti give themselves leeway in case the next few weeks don’t go entirely to plan. All I know is I’m going to buy the hell out of Nexus 6 once they become available.

Are you going to be waiting for the Nexus 6 to be back in stock tomorrow? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Nexus 6 will be back in stock tomorrow and every Wednesday thereafter

Nexus-6-splash

If you’re looking to order a Nexus 6 from Google Play, tomorrow might be your lucky day. In order to make it so that you don’t have to constantly go to the site, Google announced that they will be getting more devices in tomorrow and every Wednesday thereafter. Unfortunately we don’t know how many they will have or even what time they will become available.

They also made it a point to mention that the Nexus 6 will be available at AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular later this month. It’s interesting that Verizon is absent from that list.

Google Nexus 6 in India soon? Flipkart puts up a preemptive listing

Google Nexus 6 in IndiaThe Google Nexus 6 has been available to pre-order for almost a week now, but only in the US, so the question on everyone else’s lips is when will the device become available globally. We’ve had assurances that pre-orders in the UK and Australia are going to “start in November” but that’s almost too painfully vague, and doesn’t exactly help our friends in other parts of the world. Well, it looks like at least one retailer in India is getting ready which could hail the start of availability of the Nexus 6 in India. Popular Indian online retailer, Flipkart, today posted up the above listing for the elusive Google device, but whether or not this is just a really preemptive listing or Flipkart knows something that we don’t remains to be determined.

The Nexus 6 has been getting generally good reviews with everyone who’s managed to get their hands on one. Despite its huge size, it is said to be quite good to hold and a surprising highlight appears to be its great (but not perfect) camera which makes previous Nexus cameras look a bit disappointing. At this point, most people are just wanting to pre-order the device, but it appears Motorola and Google are going through the same supply teething issues that are suffered with the availability of every Nexus smartphone. We’re not sure what pricing is going to be like in India, but judging by the price in other regions, it isn’t going to be cheap.

What do you think about availability of the Nexus 6 in India? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Moto Maxx images leak, may be international version of DROID Turbo

motorola_moto_maxx_leak_04

Some new images surfaced today thanks to Google Plusser Guilherme Henrique that purports to show a Motorola device named “Moto Maxx” that looks like a DROID Turbo. As you are probably aware, the latest DROID device continues as a Verizon exclusive in the U.S. market. Some smartphone shoppers have noted that the DROID Turbo, with its high-end specs, is very similar to another Motorola produced device, the Nexus 6, but in a smaller size. Unfortunately for those potential buyers, a rebranded DROID Turbo going by Moto Maxx will probably only be available in markets outside the U.S.

One of the images that was posted shows a protective film for the screen still attached to the device. That film indicates the name of the device is the Moto Maxx and then provides some icons highlighting key hardware of the device. The specs match the DROID Turbo, including the Turbo Charging feature. Noticeably absent is any sign of Verizon branding. The images also appear to show a device with a kevlar type back, again appearing to match the announced colors and materials for the DROID Turbo. The back material also matches an image for a press event Motorola has scheduled in Brazil for November 5th.
