Here we go, folks. Black Friday is finally here, and if you had the patience to stay up late, Amazon is rewarding you with some sweet deals on smartphones and more.

The hottest deal of the day that just went live on Amazon is for the Google Nexus 6. Last year’s Nexus smartphone is still a great option for anyone looking to stay up to date with the Android ecosystem. Featuring an expansive Quad HD AMOLED screen, a powerful processor, and premium build quality, the Nexus 6 is a great device, especially now that you can get it for a fraction of the price of its successor, the Nexus 6P.

This is the US version of Samsung’s flagship, normally selling for $599 on Amazon, so you’re looking at a 33% discount. Not bad at all, for a device that delivers a beautiful display, the best processor of 2015 and a fantastic camera into a sleek design.

Motorola UK begins its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, offers savings up to 50% on popular devices
After revealing some not-so-impressive deals in the US, Motorola UK has begun its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale, bringing some sweet deals on many popular devices. Motorola says UK residents can save up to 50% on new smartphones.
One of the more major deals Motorola UK is running this holiday season is some fairly hefty discounts on the Moto X Play and last year’s Nexus 6, which is still a nice handset. Those interested will be able to get the Moto X Play in 16GB or 32GB variations for £219 and £259, respectively. That’s savings of £60 on either device.
For those that are more interested in fast updates and the slickest interface available with Android, the Nexus 6 is available in 32GB and 64GB variants for £250 and £310, respectively. That’s savings of £229 on either device. It’s definitely a steal, and is the perfect gift to throw under the Christmas tree for a loved one this year.

NewEgg Black Friday deals: Nexus 6 for $288, S6 Edge for $549, ZTE Axon $200
Black Friday is almost here, and while we’ve already rounded up some of the best deals on offer for the infamous shopping day, there’s plenty more surfacing each day leading up to Friday. Some of the best deals to hit this week come from NewEgg. The popular tech retailer is selling a number of unlocked smartphones at extremely aggressive price points, including the Nexus 6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and ZTE Axon.
Starting with the Nexus 6, NewEgg is offering the 32GB white version of the handset for just $288.99, one of the lowest prices we’ve seen for the handset. While the Nexus 6 is a year old and has been usurped by the 6p, it’s still a heck of a phone, especially at sub-$300 pricing. As a recap, the Nexus 6 comes with a big 5.96-inch AMOLED display, a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 13MP rear-facing camera. It also already has an upgrade ready for the latest version of Android, 6.0 Marshmallow, and will be among the first devices to receive software updates from Google for a few more years.

Next on the list, the Galaxy S6 Edge G925i is going for just $549, with your choice of color: white, black, gold, or green. Considering the GS6 Edge is valued at around $700, this is a great price, and the cheapest we’ve seen to date.
As a recap, the Galaxy S6 Edge packs a 5.1-inch QHD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 7420 processor, 3 GB of RAM, an industry-leading 16 MP camera, a 5 MP front shooter and a 2600 mAh battery. For more details on the Galaxy S6 Edge, be sure to check out our full review on it as well.
Lastly, is the ZTE Axon. At first glance, this deal sounds amazing, as you can get the phone for $200 after inputting promo code “EMCKKNR25” at checkout. Unfortunately, this isn’t the ZTE Axon as those in the US states know it. When the ZTE Axon first arrived, it came with a Snapdragon 810 in tow, but this particular model trades out that chip for a Snapdragon 800.
While it’s not nearly as great, that’s still a pretty good price for what equates to a solid entry-level device. Processor aside, the rest of the specs include a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 13MP rear cam, 8MP front cam, a 3000 mAh battery, and Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.

If you’re the proud owner of a Nexus 6 on T-Mobile, you’ll be glad to hear that the carrier has finally started rolling out the long-awaited Marshmallow upgrade for the handset. The update brings the latest build of Android to the device, in addition to LTE band 12 and Wi-Fi calling.

T-Mobile’s Nexus 6 soon to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow
T-Mobile’s devices may not be the first to receive updates (nor are they the last), but at the very least they are good at keeping the process transparent to users. The Un-carrier has a website you can check to see how far into the updating procedure your specific device is. That is, if your phone is getting it.
Of course, Nexus users are among the first in the list, and today we are getting good news for owners of the Nexus 6. This super-sized smartphone will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update “soon”. The OTA upgrade has been approved, so it’s only a matter of a very short time before we start seeing some update notifications popping up.

Please do let us know if you happen to see the update hitting your own smartphone We can’t say how long it will take, but it’s usually a short wait after a software update is approved. Regardless, we are glad to finally see the Marshmallow update coming to the Google phone. We were supposed to see it last October, but the discovery of a major bug delayed the process.

Earlier today, Des Smith, Product Manager at T-Mobile, took to his official Twitter page to announce that the operator has finally received approval for the eagerly-awaited Marshmallow update for the Nexus 6. Unfortunately, no information was given with regards to a distribution date, but we suspect that it will start rolling out any minute now seeing as it’s already almost a month overdue.
