Moto 360 Wireless Charging Dock now in stock and ready to ship from Google Play
The Moto 360 Wireless Charging Dock is now available in the Google Play Store. The item had shown up a few days ago, but could not be ordered. That changed today as Google has the units in stock and ready to ship within 1-2 business days after an order is placed. The list price for the dock is $39.99.
To get the charger working, you will need a USB wall adapter to plug the USB cable in to or you can use your computer. The dock itself is a Qi-based wireless charger that has been molded so the Moto 360 will sit in it comfortably.

Update brings mood lighting, better battery life to your Moto 360
When the Moto 360 last got an update, the painfully handsome smartwatch seemed to get a noticeable boost in battery life. Now, with a new bit of software, Motorola’s itching to improve its battery life just a little more… as well as stamp out a few bugs for good measure. Perhaps the most notable addition is the 360’s newfound ability to shut off Ambient Mode (which leaves the screen on, albeit at a lower brightness) automatically once its battery level hits 15 percent. Also on deck this time are some minor UI changes (you can temporarily dismiss a notification without leaving the watch face), the addition of mood lighting when you plop the thing in its dock, and some behind-the-scenes Bluetooth improvements. All of the above will be hitting your wrist sooner or later — Motorola says the update is rolling out in waves, so be patient if your smartwatch doesn’t get a little smarter as quickly as you’d like.

Motorola seeding 4.4W.2 update to Moto 360 with loads of improvements
We reported earlier that the LG G Watch is now receiving an update (4.4W.2) so it’s no surprise that the Moto 360 is also receiving the same update. However there are a few things that are specific to the Moto 360 such as that now ambient mode will automatically turn off when your battery hits 15% and a new feature called Mood Lighting. This will adjust how bright the charging screen is based on how bright or dark the room is. The update also includes the same stuff that other Android Wear watches are getting like the ability to connect Bluetooth headsets to the watch itself, store music, and a new UI tweak allowing you to swipe down on the most recent notification card so you can see your entire watch face.

- Readying the wires for Bluetooth – There are a couple of under-the-hood enhancements that will pave the way for connecting Bluetooth headsets to the watch.
- Bug Squashing – As usual, bugs are squashed to enhance the overall user experience.
The update is rolling out now and you will get a notification card on your Moto 360 when it’s ready for you to install it. You will need at least 80% battery life. You can also head into Settings > About > System Updates on your Moto 360, but I doubt that will do you any good.

Motorola continues to try to deliver a “timeless” timepiece with the Moto 360. A new update has struck with additional features like “Timely Time Checks” and “Mood Lighting”.

“Ambient display” appears to be Nexus 6 spin on Moto Display
When Motorola introduced the Moto X, one of the angles Motorola took in making their sales pitch for the device was how software features could be more useful and valuable than top of the line specs in a smartphone. To drive home this point, they included a variety of features including one originally called Active Display, now Moto Display, that would cause the display to turn on when a notification was received or when it detected the phone had been picked up. It looks like that same feature has found its way into the Nexus 6.
A screenshot of some display setting for the Nexus 6 shows an entry for a feature called “Ambient display” with a description that reads “Wake screen when device picked up or notifications arrive.” This seems to clearly suggest Google benefited from having Motorola produce the Nexus 6.
On the Play Store page for the Nexus 6, there are a couple entries that include a reference to “Ambient Display.” The entries outline the potential impact on standby time for the device if Ambient Display is turned on, which appears to be about a 25% reduction. Despite the hit to battery life, the feature is considered a great convenience and difficult to give up once one gets used to it.

Motorola video invites people to join company
Although Motorola continues to languish behind bigger companies like Samsung and Apple in terms of market share for smartphones and tablets, that has not stopped them from producing some noteworthy devices. The latest such device is the new Nexus 6 smartphone from Google and Motorola has a new Droid device, the DROID TURBO, ready to be released by Verizon. The company also made a big point about last year’s Moto X being produced in the U.S., although the company is now bracing for ownership by China-based Lenovo. With so much change and activity, Motorola wants to make sure job seekers do not forget them and have release a video to highlight the company and what it is like working there.
In the video, Motorola tries to show that the company, despite an 85-year history, is looking forward to the future and is not the same type of company of even one generation ago. Leak gives a clearer look at Motorola’s upcoming Droid Turbo
So far, the pictures we’ve seen of Motorola’s soon-to-launch Droid Turbo have been… incomplete. You won’t have to wonder exactly what this Verizon-only smartphone looks like any longer, though. Evan Blass (@evleaks) has posted a press image (available through Verizon’s web code) which provides a good look at the phone, including its frequently elusive front. In short, this is a hybrid between last year’s Kevlar-laden Droid Maxx and the styling cues of 2014 Motorola flagships like the new Moto X and Nexus 6. The biggest upgrades over the Maxx are likely to be in the guts, such as the 21-megapixel camera, the rumored Quad HD screen and a speedy Snapdragon 805 chip. Whether or not the Turbo is as tough as it looks, you’ll know the full story when the phone launches in nine days.

Here’s every device getting Android 5.0 Lollipop so far
If you’re a die-hard Android fan, you’re probably champing at the bit waiting for that Lollipop upgrade — when will you get it? Are you going to get it? Thankfully for you, a number of companies have already promised to upgrade some of their devices to this candy-flavored OS. Google’s Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10 models are naturally first in line, as are Android One and Google Play Edition hardware; its outgoing Motorola brand is equally on top of things with plans to patch the Moto E, G and X alongside Verizon’s Droid Mini, Maxx and Ultra. HTC and OnePlus don’t have full details, but they’re both pledging to give their recent flagships a taste of Lollipop within 90 days of receiving finished code. NVIDIA and Sony, meanwhile, are being vague. While they’re respectively teasing plans to update the Shield Tablet and the Xperia Z series, they won’t say when just yet.
As for other manufacturers? Well, don’t hold your breath. LG tells TechRadar that it has nothing to say on “if / when” Lollipop will reach the G3, let alone older gear. The upgrade is likely coming, but the statement is far from reassuring. Mum’s the word from Samsung as well, although leaks show that a Lollipopped version of TouchWiz is in the works. It’s also reasonable to expect that relatively large brands like Acer, ASUS, Huawei and Xiaomi are on deck — just don’t be shocked if their older devices don’t make the cut.

Motorola DROID Turbo for Verizon leaks once again, this time in black and red
In less than nine days, Motorola will be unveiling another handset to put on the market. This one, however, is expected to be a carrier exclusive. We are talking about the DROID Turbo that is heading straight to Verizon. A few images were found within the coding for the Verizon’s page teasing the device. It shows the device in black and in red. Regardless of the back panel color, the front remains black.
