The Moto X and Nexus 6 have never been cheaper in the UK
Motorola’s no stranger to flash sales in the UK, but its latest price drop could well be the one that clears its remaining stock ahead of a hardware refresh. Following the phone maker’s two-day sale back in May, which saw it introduce healthy price cuts to the Moto X and Nexus 6, Motorola has gone even lower in an attempt to get you to buy a new phone. The Moto X has been cut by £166, pushing the 16GB model down to £229 and the 32GB version to £269 (with Moto Maker customisation included too). The newer Nexus 6 gets an £80 reduction, meaning you’ll pay £399 for 32GB and £469 for the 64GB model. It’s a significant drop when you consider that you would have paid an additional £70 for the Moto X and £50 more for the Nexus 6 during last month’s sale. If Motorola has piqued your interest but you want a little time to think things over, it’s giving you until the end of June to make a decision.

Lenovo exec hints at things to come this summer
It seems that Lenovo has something up their sleeve for this summer and the release of the latest Motorola products. This will mark the first time that a Motorola product has been released since the Nexus 6, and with Lenovo at the helm without any other influence. Recently, Lenovo’s chief executive was interviewed and shared just a glimpse at what to expect this summer.
We have many new models in development with the Moto brands, so you may see in summer us launching some every exciting products, including phones and watches.
With that, we can expect to see AT LEAST an updated Moto X and an updated Moto 360
As for the Moto 360, there’s not much to be said as of yet, however, we can only look forward to Lenovo improving upon the already beautiful design and functionality of the Android Wear device. There has been no mention about with Lenovorola will keep the Moto Maker for both the Moto 360 and the Moto X

Motorola will launch many “exciting products” this summer
Motorola will be launching a handful of “exciting products” this summer. Lenovo’s chief executive Yang Yuanqing spoke to The Telegraph at the company’s TechWorld event in Beijing last month to discuss the matter.
We haven’t seen much from Motorola since Lenovo acquired the company, but that could change very soon. “We have many new models in development with the Moto brands,” Yuanqing said, “so you may see in summer us launching some very exciting products, including phones and watches.”
In other words, Motorola fans will be able to purchase an all-new Moto X this year. He mentioned that the company has many “new models in development with the Moto brands.” In addition to a new Moto X, we could see a new Moto 360 smartwatch as well, which has been rumored extensively.
It doesn’t look like the Moto brand will be stopping anytime soon either, as Lenovo has plans to bring the brand to other markets where the company has seen success, such as India and China.
“There are some markets though, like India and China, where we can certainly have two brands, and that will also allow us to be more competitive in those markets as well,” he said.
The Moto brand has seen some great success since its original launch with the Moto X (2013). There’s no doubt it will do well in India and China where Lenovo has seen great success thus far, either.
As for the new Moto X coming out this year, Lenovo says they’re sticking with the pure Android experience, and they currently have no plans to offer another operating system besides Android like other company’s are beginning to provide.
“There are no plans to start launching operating systems other than Android. One of the key differentiators for us is the pure Android experience, and we’re deeply proud of that, because we believe it brings a much better software experience to consumers, and faster upgrades,” he said.
One thing is for sure, Lenovo hopes to continue putting the customer first by continuing to offer a pure Android experience, which will allow the company to push out faster upgrades for its devices.
Lenovo has thus far done a phenomenal job at making sure its products are running the latest version of Android, while other companies are leaving old flagships in the past.

[Deal] Motorola drops the Moto X (2014) to $299 with a 30-day return window
Motorola has made it pretty clear that two-year contracts are becoming obsolete. The phones released by Motorola in the last two years have been some of the best when it comes to off-contract options. Starting today and ending on June 29, the Moto X (2014), which was priced at $349 without a contract, drops to $299 after a $50 rebate. To sweeten the deal and make it less risky, Motorola has applied a 30-day return window.
The money saved from the rebate is actually applied once the 30-day window closes and the buyer completes a survey for Motorola.

To clarify, you’ll need to head on over to motomaker.com, customize your Moto X, and choose the no contract option for the carrier. Motorola will charge you a minimum of $349.99 when you purchase the device, but filling out the mail-in rebate form will get you a nice $50 back within 6 to 8 weeks of your purchase. If you’re not keen on spending that amount of money right away, Motorola will also let you finance the device for $0 down over a period of 6, 12 or 18 months with a Motorola Credit account.

Motorola letting customers test custom-made Moto X for 30 days
Motorola is making an interesting move today, leveraging on the aging 2014 Moto X. They’re not only knocking down the starting price once again, by $50 (bringing it to $299), but allowing you to try it at no risk for up to 30 days, at which point you would need to decide to keep or ship it back.
With the new low price, Motorola is also using this as an opportunity to make a stance against contracts. They state that according to a report by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), customers more favoring the more straightforward way of purchasing their smartphones.
“The report also sheds light on the massive shift we are seeing in the wireless and mobile industry. People are happiest without a contract. The good news is that more and more carriers understand the importance of offering simple to understand, no contract wireless plans. To embrace going off-contract, we recognize the need to offer great premium smartphones at a better price so you get more bang for your buck.“
This criticism towards contracts is another shove against the way the industry does things. Recently, we also saw AT&T acknowledge that customers are becoming more and more interested in unsubsidized purchasing options.
Motorola is referring to this offer as Say Hello to Moto, and it runs from 6/15 – 6/29. So if you’ve been dabbling with the idea of owning a Moto X, this is a great opportunity to test drive it before committing. Just head over to Moto Maker and start building your own custom Moto X. But know that the starting price is for the plastic back cover, the wood or leather options run $25 more.

Moto X third generation leaked image surfaces
@upleaks posted via Twitter a supposed leaked image of Motorola’s upcoming 3rd generation Moto X.
The image itself is quite small at about the size of a thumbnail and shows what is believed to be the phone at two three-quarter views, one of the front and the other of the back.
There, of course, has been no confirmation from Motorola about whether this really is the next Moto X. Although, this leak closely follows the release of another we mentioned days ago, so it cannot be refuted (at least for now) that this could be the device.

Motorola to launch Moto Maker in India on June 15?!
While Motorola India is not being 100% direct about what they are going to announce on June 15th, they are making it pretty clear on their Twitter account. Drop me off in Vegas and I am willing to bet my cash on it; our fellow Indians will likely get a taste of Moto Maker on June 15th (or soon after).
Brief Moto Maker summary
If you have been living under a rock, Moto Maker is Motorola’s online tool for customizing and purchasing devices like the Moto X and Moto 360. It became a sensation in an industry where real hardware customization is pretty much non-existent.
With Moto Maker you can choose from multiple storage options, engravings, colors, and materials. You can even pay extra for your phone to be partly made of awesome materials like wood or leather.
