July 28th could bring us all the 2015 Moto G

Motorola is all set to bring the all new Moto G (2015) into the market. It’s been reported that Motorola could launch the Moto G (2015) as early as July 28. This latest iteration has been rumored and leaked a couple of times before, giving us the glimpse of internal specifications as well as hardware features.motog

Rumored specifications :

  • 5-inch 720p display
  • 1.4 GHz quad core Cortex A53 CPU(Snapdragon 410)
  • 1GB RAM and 8/16GB of internal storage
  • 13MP rear-facing camera
  • 5MP front-facing camera
  • micro-SD card slot
  • 2,470 mAh battery

In addition to all of this, Motorola is also supposed to bring Moto Maker support to the Moto G (2015). The handset is also supposed to be water resistant, but I think it will be just nano-coating that will be preventing the hardware from water damage to some extent as seen in other Moto devices.

It’s interesting to see that Motorola is bringing customization to the mid-range Moto G. There’s no word on whether or not Moto Maker will cost extra for the latest version, or whether it will carry additional material options for the rear shell like the Moto X. However, we will be sure to keep you posted about each and every detail surrounding the all new Moto G(2015).

Motorola Moto X (2015) shows off its backside in new leaked image

motorola-logo-mwc-2015-1

With all of the leaks and rumors floating around about Motorola’s next smartphone lineup, it can certainly be difficult to keep all of them straight. We’ve already gotten a good look at what’s supposedly the Motorola Moto G (2015), but you didn’t think the rumor mill would leave out the next-generation Moto X, did you? A new leaked image that comes to us from Google+ user Roger Pretto, who works for Lenovo, shows us what’s purported to be the new Moto X’s back side.

As you can see from the image below, this device falls in line with basically every other leaked image we’ve seen thus far. The back looks to feature a smaller camera module with an aluminum accent that extends down to the iconic Motorola dimple. The edges are surrounded by an aluminum casing, making the whole thing resemble the design language of the Nexus 4.

Moto X 2015 maybe DROID AA

A leaked image appeared a few days ago that featured what’s supposedly the 2015 Moto G, Moto X, and two new DROID devices. The image above looks very similar to what the first leak claimed was the a new DROID device, though this image’s source claims that this is the new Moto X. Even though details are a little unclear at the moment, it’s still apparent that Motorola has settled on a design language that most of its next devices will feature.

We don’t know for sure when the 2015 Moto X will be officially announced, though Motorola just recently sent out invitations to events in NYC and London with the tagline “Your relationship status is about to change”. Those events are scheduled for July 28th, which is a little more than a week away, so it’s possible we could see the company’s new flagship launch then.

Motorola’s new smartphone lineup is looking better and better every day, but we’ll need to wait a little while longer before we actually see what the company has planned. What are your thoughts on the device? If the new Moto X actually looks like this when it launches, do you think you’d consider buying one? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Moto X ’15 and Moto G ’15 leaked in the wild

There is yet more supposed leaks of the upcoming Moto X 2015 and Moto G 2015. This time, they were spotted in Brazil and Mexico, where photos of each device were taken.

First up is the Moto X 2015. There’s only one photo and of the back, no less, which appears to have the Kevlar Motorola is known for using in its other flagships, like the Droid Turbo and Droid Razr Maxx. Phandroid noticed a small hole at the bottom, which suggests that the back could be removable and replaceable.

The supposed Moto X 2015

Lastly, we have three photos of the Moto G 2015, one of the back, another of the top, and one more of the front of the alleged device. It appears to be made of plastic on the sides with textured finish on the back. The phone’s front shows a screenshot of it running Android 5.1.1.

The supposed Moto G 2015

Whether these devices are genuine remains to be seen. However, there are plenty of rumors of either device. Some of these include a sport version of the Moto X and leaked press renders and images. Still, Motorola does have an event on July 28th, and Lenovo’s CEO hinted the new Moto G would be released this month. In no more than two weeks, we’ll know exactly what the company plans to unveil.

Motorola set to live stream new device announcement July 28th

Motorola has announced that it is prepared to make “Your relationship status change” on July 28th with a live streaming announcement. Certainly they will be making the 2015 Moto X and 2015 Moto G device announcements. We are also hoping they might make a new Moto 360 announcement too. Looking at the invite image one could see that the X and G are more than likely all we will see. Assuming you read into the image’s lettering. The XOX looks like XGX, or even X6X. That ‘O’ just isn’t right really.

As hopeful as we are about the next Moto 360, nothing leads us to believe it will make its way to the stage. Instead, this will be a phone announcement. The verbiage on Motorola’s own page seems to prove that. The 2015 Moto G has been leaked and covered quite a bit over the last month or so. It looks like it will get a refreshed design and is even being reported to gain Moto Maker ordering abilities this year. A nice way to customize the solid mid-tier device. Spec rumors for include a Snapdragon 410, 5-inch 720p display, 1GB RAM and a 13MP rear camera. Quite a bump on the camera front for a mid-tier device. Hopefully the camera quality is solid and the price remains under $200 for standard device options.

Motorola announcement event

If you click-through to the “Find out more” all you get is a sign-up page to ‘learn more about your perfect moto match” and some blank fields for your name and email address.

If you want to catch the announcement first hand you can watch the live stream on July 28th at 9 a.m. ET. That equates to 6 a.m. PST. I am assuming, for now, that if you bookmark www.motorola.com/hellomoto they will update the page prior to the event for the video feed. I am probably wrong. When I have a definitive link I’ll post it up for everyone.

Motorola hosting event on July 28th, expect it to be filled with new hardware

motorola_072815_event_page

Motorola just announced they will be hosting an event on July 28th and we can infer that this is when the company will unveil its latest round of hardware. The unveiling will take place in three major cities simultaneously – London, São Paulo, and New York City.

The tagline for the event states “Yes, We’re in a relationship with our phone” and “A better mobile relationship is on its way.” According to recent leaks, we should see the new Moto X flagship and the more affordable Moto G. The company may also release some new low-end handsets and possibly the new Moto 360 smartwatch. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard many rumors about the latter, so Motorola could be waiting even longer to show the world its next smartwatch.

What are you most excited about?

Motorola holding events in London and NYC on July 28

motorola invite

Motorola has just sent out a rather coy invite to press events being held in New York City and London on July 28th. The invite, which promises that our “relationship status is about to change” doesn’t reveal a lot of details but what is likely to be announced at Motorola’s event?

Judging by recent leaks, the Moto G (2015) is certainly on the cards but given the wood background on the invite, maybe we’ll also see a bamboo-backed high-end smartphone? The invite signature seems to contain Xs and Gs; does that mean a new Moto X alongside the Moto G or are we reading too much into it? After all, we’re still waiting for the Moto X (2015) so maybe that’s also on the cards for a launch.

Like most Motorola teasers, there’s very little we can judge based on just the invite but that being said, a launch at the end of July means Motorola is likely to get everyone’s attention and hopefully there’s a new flagship or two to drool over.

Whatever Motorola do announce on July 28th, we’ll be there reporting live from the event so put it in your diary and tune in on the morning of July 28 for all the latest news.

Third-generation Moto G poses for new leaked photos

new-motorola-logo

Earlier today, a set of leaked images emerged online with the design of Motorola’s third-generation budget-friendly smartphone, the Moto E, being the subject.

The shots taken from all angles show that the device is extremely similar to last year’s model, with the exception of a new backplate which looks a lot like the Kevlar back found on the Droid Razr.

The source claims that the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, has 2GB of RAM, an Adreno 305 GPU and 8GB of expandable internal storage on board.
