The Moto E (2nd gen.) is now even cheaper in India

A low price is probably the biggest factor driving smartphone sales in India, a huge and fast growing market where local players go against international powerhouses to establish dominance. That explains why solid smartphones are being offered here at extremely competitive prices, and the Moto E is a great example for that.
The normally cheap Moto E (2nd gen.) is available at an even lower price in India. Motorola operated a INR 1000 ($16) cut, which may not seem like much, but it’s more than 10% off the price of the base version of the Moto E.
Following the price cut, the Moto E (2nd gen.) 3G will sell for INR 5,999 ($94), while the LTE model will go for INR 6,999 ($110). Both models are available on Flipkart. You can get the Moto E for even cheaper (up to INR 200o off) if you bring in an old smartphone in exchange, though only select models and brands are accepted.
The second generation of the Moto E was unveiled in January, bringing a 4.5-inch 540 x 960, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 or 410 (for 3G and LTE respectively), 8GB of storage, and a 5MP camera. These are base level specs, without doubt, but then again so is the price, and you do get Android Lollipop on a brand-name smartphone.
Will you take advantage of this deal?

Somebody at Brazilian retailer Americanas.com obviously has a happy trigger finger as their promo video for the Moto G 3rd gen was posted up today – predictably, it’s since been taken down, but the clever fellows over at Droid-life have a copy of the video hosted somewhere – you can check out a copy of the promo video here.
Before the video was taken down, the following blurb could be seeing in the video description (translated, of course):
“Surprises abound to the new generation of Moto G, one of the most beloved smartphones from Motorola. The new line of Moto G is available on models Moto G 3rd Generation Color HDTV , Music, Cabernet, Navy Blue and Pink.
Get ready for this powerful configuration: Lollipop Android 5.1.1 , 4G speed technology , full HD screen 5 -inch , 410 Snapdragon processor Quad Core 1.4GHz , 8GB of internal memory for the basic 16GB version or the other , rear camera of 13MP and 5MP front.”
Unsurprisingly, there’s not much in there we weren’t already aware of, though we’re interested to know why the amount of RAM wasn’t specified – rumours currently disagree with some saying 1GB with others saying 2GB. Also absent is any mention of the Moto Maker options for the Moto G, but maybe it’s because our Portuguese isn’t very good.

Yesterday, we got a pretty good look at what is supposedly going to be the Motorola Moto X 3rd gen, and today, we’re getting another look at it, but this time in different colours. Today’s leak comes courtesy of Google+ user hellomotoHK who posted up an image of a Moto X 3rd gen in white and gold, an interesting combination of colours and significantly different to the mish-mash of grey that we have been seeing lately. What this likely signifies is that the Moto X 3rd gen is going to get even more customization options in Moto Maker, not only letting you change the colour (and presumably material) of the back cover, but also the colour of the metallic edge around the device.
This is also supported by an earlier leak provided by @evleaks which suggested that the Moto G 3rd gen would also be available with customization options in Moto Maker, also with the ability to change its edge colour – whatever is available for the Moto G, we would assume is also available for the Moto X. Of course, we’d expect this kind of customization to come at a little extra cost, but we shouldn’t have long to find out as Motorola is expected to announce the devices on July 28th.

Moto G (2015) promo video leaks
Right on the heels of its Moto Maker options being posted, a promotional video for the upcoming Moto G (2015) went live prematurely. The actual video was taken down rather quickly but you can still view it here. Brazilian retailer Americanas apparently thought it was fine to release the video containing the handset’s main specifications.
According to the leaked video, the new Moto G will have a 5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 8GB/166GB of internal storage, a micro SD slot for an additional 32GB, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, interchangeable back covers, IPX7 certificaiton, and Android 5.1.1.
The beginning of the video translates to:
Surprises abound to the new generation of Moto G, one of the most beloved smartphones from Motorola. The new line of Moto G is available on models Moto G 3rd Generation Color HDTV , Music, Cabernet, Navy Blue and Pink.
Motorola will introduce the Moto G (2015) to the world on July 28.

Motorola Moto G 2015 specs emerge in leaked promotional video

Motorola’s Moto G (3rd Gen.) may be right around the corner, but that doesn’t mean everyone and their mother will stop posting photos of the new budget-friendly smartphone before its official unveiling. We’ve already gotten a good look at the device in the wild, and we got to see alleged photos of the device’s Moto Maker customization options. But thanks to Brazilian retailer Americanas, we’re getting our first look at the device in an informative promotional video, along with a list of legitimate specifications.
The video goes through the list of noteworthy specifications, claiming that the device will feature a 5.0-inch Full HD display, 4G LTE connectivity, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, a quad-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, 8/16GB of on-board storage, a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. Additionally, the video explains that the device will be water resistant with an IPX7 certification, further backing up recent rumors.
The video also claims that users will have the option to swap out different colored back plates, though it didn’t mention anything about the ability to customize the device through Moto Maker.
To get a good look for yourself, check out the video attached below:
A few other notable specifications from the video include expandable storage via microSD, dual-SIM capabilities, and a battery that will be able to last all day.

Motorola is holding events in London and New York City on July 28th, where it’s expected to launch the Moto G 2015 (and maybe the Moto X 2015). Of course, nothing is confirmed quite yet, so stay tuned as more details surface regarding Motorola’s next lineup of smartphones.
It looks like the next Moto G will work with Moto Maker
At this point, the Moto G 2015 edition is becoming one of Motorola’s worst kept secrets. The latest piece of news, first reported by Evan Blass (aka @evleaks), is that the next Moto G is going to be compatible with Moto Maker for the first time — following in the footsteps of its flagship sibling, the Moto X. A Reddit user is corroborating this info after breaking down a page on Motorola’s website, which has now been pulled, revealing that people who buy the device via Moto Maker will have a variety of custom options to choose from. That includes being able to personalize the next G’s front and back colors, plus choose its internal storage (up to 16GB) and memory (1 or 2GB). It also seems there won’t be wood choices at launch, but that could eventually change — we shall find out next week.

Rumored Moto X (3rd Gen) making its rounds in white and gold
Just yesterday the rumored Moto X (3rd Gen) showed up in an array of pictures, and now it’s making its rounds on social media once again, only featuring a golden frame.
The image showed up on popular Chinese social media website Weibo, and has also been circulating Google+ by way of user hellomotoHK. The image shows that the Moto X (3rd Gen) could feature a golden metallic frame with a gorgeous white and textured back panel.
This could mean that Motorola will be offering a golden frame option in its Moto Maker this time around. Pricing could prove to be a little more expensive, as wooden backs through the Moto Maker also costed an additional charge. Considering that gold is the hip thing for smartphones this year, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an added surcharge for that extra glimmer on your smartphone.
We’re expecting to hear an official unveiling of the Moto X (3rd Gen) at Motorola’s press conference in New York City on July 28.
Only a few more days until we can see Motorola’s next big move.

Motorola accidentally posts Moto Maker options for upcoming Moto G (2015)
The newest range of devices from Motorola will be unveiled on July 28, but leaks are showing no signs of stopping until then. While the Moto X has been Motorola’s flagship device, the Moto G has served as a valuable mid-range phone. The Moto G (2015) will step things up a by joining the Moto X with Moto Maker customization this year. At some point yesterday, Motorola accidentally posted the options available through Moto Maker for the new Moto G, showing that the phone will be unique to its owner.
Buyers will be able to choose among different front panels, back panels, accents, memory, FlipShells, and wallpapers. Those different areas total thirty-nine choices.
A decision regarding price will have to be made when it comes to memory. The base model features 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, both of which can be raised together to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The page that displayed all of this information, which is now defunct, did not include the price for either memory option.

Moto Maker options surface for Moto G via leaked image
The Moto G has been a successful venture for Motorola as it allows it to reach a wider range of consumers, mainly those that are cash-strapped and can’t afford the higher priced alternative. Price does not always equal better quality however as the Moto G has proven to be a worthy contender in the mobile arena and if these leaked images are real, the latest iteration will be no different.
The Moto G was unveiled back in November of 2013 as a cost effective alternative for emerging markets. Fast-forward to 2015 and the Moto G is now available in developed markets due to the immense success that Motorola’s saw with the device, as it quickly become the mobile giants top selling smartphone.
Sporting a 4.5 inch LCD display, Android 4.4, Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, and 1GB Ram, the Moto G is not a beast when it comes to specs. This is to be expected as the device was not created to be the fastest nor a flagship.
The leaked images don’t give out a whole lot of information, but at least we know that the new device will have a plethora of customization options and at least 2GB of Ram. A slight upgrade to the 1GB found in the 2013 version though it should help make some apps run a bit smoother. You will also get the option to choose between a 16GB version and an 8GB.
As with all leaked information, this should all be taken with a grain of salt. We won’t know what all the new Moto G will have until Motorola releases an official statement or the device hits shelves.
