Great deal: Nexus 6 on sale for $349 (32GB) and $399 (64GB) on Amazon!

nexus 6 first impressions (17 of 21)

We still have a month to wait until the next-gen Nexus devices arrive, but if you just can’t wait to go Nexus, today we have an excellent deal for you.

Amazon is discounting the Motorola-made Nexus 6 down to an amazing $349.99 for the 32GB version and $399 for the 64GB version. The price goes for both the Midnight Blue and the Cloud White version, and for the money you get an unlocked device with full US warranty. The device is sold by Amazon, with free shipping.

This sales slashes $150 off the price of the Nexus 6, making it as affordable as the popular Nexus 5 before it, and probably the cheapest we’ve ever seen it. That’s a very good proposition and we expect this deal to go out of stock very soon.

The Nexus 6 is a phablet lover’s dream, with its 6-inch display of Quad HD resolution, powerful processor, 3,220 mAh battery, and 13MP main camera. But of course, the true value of a Nexus device comes from its pristine Android implementation, lack of bloatware, and fast updates guarantee. That is why the Nexus 6 scored a 9/10 in our review, and why it’s a no brainer at this price.

Happy shopping and let us know if you bought anything!

Moto 360 (2nd Gen) first look

The very popular Moto 360 finally gets an update that Motorola introduced at an event at IFA 2015 in Berlin. Here is our first look, as we go hands on with the Moto 360 (2nd Gen).

For starters, the second generation of the Moto 360 will be available in a few different iterations, two of which can be seen in action in the video above, with only preview units of the Moto 360 Sport being showcased for now. The Moto 360 (2nd Gen) will now feature two different size options, 46 mm and 42 mm, that will also feature different options in the finishes and the bands.

moto 360 ifa aa (8 of 18)

The 46 mm version comes with a 400 mAh battery under the hood, and a 1.56-inch LCD display with 360 x 330 resolution. On the other hand, the more compact 42 mm variant comes with a 1.37-inch LCD display, with a 360 x 325 resolution. The displays of both variants are protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel.

Looking at the back of both is where you will once again find the heart rate monitor, which will be useful with Moto Body, which is the app and ecosystem used by Motorola to help cover the fitness needs of users. The actual design of the body has some noticeable aesthetic changes as well, with the power button now being moved to the 2 o’clock position, giving it a more distinguishable look when compared to its predecessor.

moto 360 ifa aa (7 of 18)

What is even more distinct are the lugs at the top and bottom, which makes it far easier to swap out the watch bands to any other standard watch band available, which addresses one of the big issues with the first generation smartwatch. The lugs also give the device the look of a more conventional watch, and more akin to other smartwatches we’ve seen from the competition.

The Moto 360 (2nd Gen) is now also a part of the Moto Maker family, so you will now be able to customize the smartwatch to better suit your tastes, by choosing between various watch bands, and even changing the colors and finishes on the actual body itself.

So there you have it for this first look at the Moto 360 (2nd Gen)! The non-sport variants of the latest Moto 360 smartwatch are already available for pre-order from the Google Store, Motorola.com, and even Best Buy. The price point falls in the range of $299 and $429, depending on what customizations you end up going for using Moto Maker, and will be available to users by the end of September. We are really excited to get this device in our hands, or rather, on our wrists, and see whether the second generation Moto 360 lives up to what the original started in the round smartwatch revolution.

Motorola Moto 360 (2nd Gen.) officially announced – everything you need to know

11_Mot_360_StyleSport_Combo_0116_LftWtchMtl_V5_RGB[5][3]

After numerous rumors and leaks over the past few months, Motorola has finally unveiled the second-generation Moto 360! The new Moto 360 collection comes in both men’s and women’s models, and there’s also a sport variant that will become available at a later date.

The regular (non-sport) model comes in both 46mm and 42mm options for men, and the women’s line comes in at 42mm. All variants feature a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage. The 46mm option comes with a 400mAh battery and a 1.56-inch LCD display with 360 x 330 resolution, while both 42mm variants come with a 1.37-inch LCD display with 360 x 325 resolution. Both sizes are covered in Gorilla Glass 3.

As you can see from the images above, there are a few different design elements this time around. For starters, Motorola has added traditional lugs to the watch, which will let you change out your watch band much easier. The power button has also been moved to the 2 o’clock position, as opposed to the 3 o’clock position on last year’s model.

01_Mot_360_Sport_HeroCombo_0062_Comp_V11_SIMP

As for the Moto 360 Sport, it features a GPS, a silicon band, and an AnyLight display that will allow for easier reading in both light and dark situations.

You’ll be able to customize the Moto 360 via Moto Maker, with the ability to choose from different bands, casing colors, and sizes. There are quite a few different color options to choose from, including Black, Gold, Silver and Rose Gold (women’s variant only), and you can also choose from leather, stainless steel and Rose Gold (women’s only) straps, as well.

The non-sport variants of the watch are available for pre-order starting today from the Google Store, Motorola.com and Best Buy. Prices range from about $299 to $429, depending on which style and watch band you select. The new watches will also be available in-store in late September at Nordstrom, Best Buy and Verizon as well. Motorola says it will share Moto 360 Sport availability with us sometime soon.

Motorola refines the Moto 360 by tailoring the smartwatch for everyone

motorola_moto_360_2015_launch_mens_womens_TA

The world is full of rectangular displays, but the original Moto 360 actually resembled a traditional watch with its display’s round shape. Motorola pushed engineering boundaries with the design of last year’s standout smartwatch. Now the company is back with a new, refined Moto 360 that is made the way you want it. The Moto 360 may have not changed too much since its debut, yet you’ll notice that customization is as important as ever to Motorola.

Since Android Wear devices are typically similar, here is a quick rundown of key specifications:

  • 1.37- (360×325) or 1.56-inch (360×330) display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 512MB of RAM
  • 4GB of internal storage
  • 300mAh or 400mAh battery (with wireless charging)
  • Optical heart rate monitor

The way in which bands are attached to Motorola’s smartwatch has changed with the inclusion of lugs. Bands have a quick-release switch to easily remove and replace them.

Both men and women now have the option purchase a Moto 360 that was designed specifically for them. The smartwatch now comes in two sizes: 42mm and 46mm. Men can choose from either size while women, if they so choose to buy based on the recommend size for their gender, are offered only the 42mm size. The design choices, too, differ for men and women. Rather than having the men’s Chamfer and Micro Knurl bezel treatments, women are able to choose between peak and micro etch looks. And, of course, women are offered the Rose Gold case color and bezel color instead of the men’s black.

Moto Body, which Motorola calls “a holistic experience that helps you lead a healthier lifestyle,” acts as the Moto 360’s health and fitness companion service. It actively tracks steps taken, monitors heart rate, and measures calories burned. But Moto Body expands upon those statistics by providing feedback and coaching to motivate you to give your health the attention it deserves.

An exclusive feature brought to the Moto 360 is Live Dials. Shortcuts to your most-used apps are pinned right on the watch face.

Looking for a fitness-focused smartwatch? Motorola’s Moto 360 Sport is for you

motorola_moto_360_sport_white_black_official

Motorola’s smartwatch, the Moto 360, is known for being a design masterpiece. The stainless steel and round display are just some of what gives the Moto 360 its appeal. Its design, though, may not be ideal for consumers that want to use the Moto 360 while running or working out at the gym. Either the smartwatch will be uncomfortable to wear or likely nicked and perhaps damaged during any type of workout. Enter the Moto 360 Sport.

The Moto 360 Sport is Motorola’s first take on offering a wearable device to fitness enthusiasts. This smartwatch drops any signs of metal or leather in favor of a silicon construction that wicks away moisture and has ventilation on the band. And the display features a front-lit reflective technology that pairs with the traditional LCD display to keep the Moto 360 Sport visible at all times.

To really make this a smartwatch for people that are always active, Motorola included an on-board GPS. What exactly does it do? It allows users to track their speed, distance, and pace.

Battery life on the Moto 360 Sport is longer than any other Moto 360 generation or model, reaching for around two days of use.

Availability and pricing for the Moto 360 Sport will be announced within the next 3-4 weeks.

Moto X Force, codenamed “Bounce”, with shatterproof display leaks

moto x forceTwitter leaker @upleaks has posted an image of a new Motorola phone, called the Moto X Force. The internal Motorola codename for it is “Bounce”. The new device is said to launch in December and feature a shatterproof display.

According to an earlier tweet from @upleaks, the phone will feature a 5.43″ QHD display, Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994), 32 or 64GB storage, 3GB of RAM, 21MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. The battery will be quite large at 3760mAh, but the most interesting part about this phone is it’s said to be shatterproof. It seems to be similar to a Moto X Play, but more rugged.
