Motorola-Moto-E

Following the Moto E leak on Facebook yesterday, the yet-to-be announced device just got another leak and has now been fully revealed thanks to a Brazilian retailer that published images and specs prematurely.

According to the retailer, the Moto E will have a 4.3-inch display and, if the recent leaks are to be believed, will be running at a 720 x 1280 resolution.

Full specs below:

  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi
  • 5MP rear camera without Flash (there’s no front-facing camera)
  • Dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 4GB of internal memory
  • microSD card support (up to 32GB)
  • 1,980 mAh battery
  • 124.8 x 64.8 x 12.3 mm
  • 140 grams

We’re all expecting Motorola to announce the budget device that will be priced at a point that will be affordable for all next week on May 13th.

Motorola’s first post-Google phone looks to be another low-end wonder

Motorola was planning a big shindig for May 13th, where it’ll launch its first phone after being sold to Lenovo by Google. Unfortunately, any big surprises that were being kept for the day look to have been spoiled thanks to trigger-happy Brazilian retailer FastShop. The site has posted a full listing for the handset, and if it’s genuine, then the Moto E will sit beneath the Moto G as the company’s new ultra-budget device. Specs-wise, there’s a 4.3-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon paired with 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, a 1,980mAh battery and dual-SIM slots. On the expansion front, the microSD slot will only take cards up to 32GB, and there’s a 5-megapixel camera poking out of the back. There’s no word on price, but given that the Moto G retails for just under $200, we’d expect this to cost no more than a Benjamin-and-a-half.

Supposed Moto E image makes an appearance on Facebook

Lets keep the momentum going with Motorola this fantabulous Friday. One device that we are all expecting Motorola to show off on May 13th is the Moto E. Talks around town place it as a more affordable option to the current Moto G and be mostly targeting emerging markets. The apparent image was posted on the Motorola Facebook page out of Mexico, so it would seem that the Moto E will end up down south.

Moto E The Moto E is the white device sitting on the right and to the left we see the Moto G. It would appear that the Moto E is forgoing a front facing camera, at least in this particular leaked image. The overall device size is a little smaller as well. Which lines up with the leaked specs that we saw a while back pointing to a 4.3-inch device.

All should be revealed in just a few short days. Hopefully we get to have a look at the Moto X+1 and the Moto G Cinema during that same event.

What are your thoughts on the Motorola Moto E so far from the rumored specs and now supposed image of the device?

Image of Moto E leaks in Facebook post

motorola_logo_720w

It seems Motorola is getting ready to announce the successor of Moto X at the conference they are holding on May 13th, and it will be known as the Moto E. Motorola is planning to launch this new affordable smartphone in developing markets, and somebody was nice enough to put a picture of the Moto E right along with Moto X on Facebook, and then removing it afterward. But folks over at Android Police got their hands on the picture, have a look:

moto eWell, it is similar to the Moto X in design, but who doesn’t like change, right? Motorola is planning to target the low-end market instead of launching high-end smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One. Do you think Moto E will make a decent affordable smartphone?

‘Moto G Cinema’ name appears on Motorola’s site

moto_g

Yet another leak for @evleaks shows that not only did the Moto X+1 appear on the Motorola site, but now it seems Motorola have yet another product in the works, and it seems to be an evolution of the Moto G.

Dubbed the Moto G Cinema, the reference appeared on Motorola’s support site, appearing as a placeholder for upcoming information. Unfortunately no offer information was specified, other than it seems a product of that sort exists.

Whilst details are limited, it can be assumed the ‘Cinema’ naming for the Moto G does suggest a device with a larger screen aimed at viewing videos, but that’s pure speculation at this point.

Motorola is on a roll as another device name surfaces, the Moto G Cinema

Moto G Cinema

One of our favorite leaksters and tipsters, Mr. @Evleaks, is always up to his crafty trickery. Over the last few days we have caught wind of the Moto X+1 with a AT&T tagged in and a -$400 line. Now we get to find a new device name floating about that points to another Moto G variant. The screen grad provided simply offers up Moto G Cinema. The remaining information in the screen grab is pretty generic simply pointing out that Motorola has the How-To’s, Forums, Live Support and more to help you get the most out of the device.

We could speculate until our brains and fingers hurt about the Cinema being a larger screened low-cost device between the current Moto X and Moto G price tag and specs, but none of that has any truth behind it. It is likely another variant of the Moto G that will be landing in another country that currently doesn’t offer it. That would be our best, and most logical, guess right now. 9to5Google points out that the term “Cinema” is more widely used in countries like the UK and could be bound for a launch in that direction and not something stateside. With a Motorola event scheduled for May 13th in London, it certain seems like the best guess for now. We will have to wait a few more days and see what Motorola ends up doing.

The Moto X+1 makes another appearance on Motorola’s website

Moto_X+_1_Website

The Moto X+1 has reared its head before on the Moto Maker website, lending speculation of the successor to the massively popular Moto X, and it appears that the upcoming device has made yet another appearance, albeit brief.

Earlier today the Moto X+1 appeared on Motorola’s own website, but was quickly taken down. Whilst not revealing much, since it was just a landing page for the device on AT&T, it did reaffirm that the device exists and could be priced at $400.00 off contract.

The Moto X+1 is expected to have a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, an Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The device is expected to be released in ‘late summer’ so it shouldn’t be too long to wait until we get to see exactly what the Moto X+1 is all about.

Get the best phones of 2013 for a penny on Amazon

LG-G2-vs.-Galaxy-S4-Moto-X-HTC-One-on-paper

Technology is great.  Every year devices get stronger and more powerful.  To me, last year was a breakthrough year in regards for smartphone development because we had finally reached a point where we had enough RAM and processing power to run most apps seemingly effortlessly.

In 2013, the potential customer had to pick their potential phone based on things other than specs (i.e. build quality, camera, screen size, etc.). These Flagships from last year can still compete with the best phones of today.

Because last generations big name phones still perform superbly, I have no problem recommending any them to those inquiring about which phone to purchase.

With that being said, I am again making that recommendation as Amazon has last year’s flagships on sale for 1 red cent with a 2-year contract.

Whether its the fit and finish of the HTC One (M7), the endless features of the Samsung Galaxy S4, or the battery life of the LG G2, there is a smartphone here to fit your needs.

So go ahead, don’t be nervous about buying one of these phones as they still perform spectacularly and will be relevant for some time to come. For a penny you can’t go wrong.

LG G2      AT&T, Verizon, Sprint

HTC One (M7)      AT&T, Verizon, Sprint

Samsung Galaxy S4      AT&T, Verizon, Sprint

Motorola Moto X      AT&T, Verizon, Sprint
