Motorola Moto X 3rd-gen further leaked in video
Lenovo owned Motorola is ready to launch the next generation of its popular device Moto X. Rumors about Moto X successor have been there for a while now. But recently a image and proposed specification list has been leaked and claims to stem from Motorola insider .
The leaked image shows the wooden back, which is always a plus point and video by TotalTech showing the purported specification of the new gen Moto X.
As the video suggests, the Moto X is to come with 5.64 inch QHD (1440 x 2560) resulting in a screen density of 564ppi. The phone is supposed to have 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage with no confirmation on whether it has a micro-SD card slot.
The next-gen Moto X is supposed to be running the latest version of Android Lollipop (5.1.1) with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor. The all new Moto X is reported to have all the premium back option that were previously available as well as new mysterious back options.
Ideally, I would like to see a Snapdragon 810 processor, an option of 128GB storage (especially if there is no micro-SD card slot), 3GB of RAM and 3200mAh of battery.
What do you people have on your mind? What specifications do you wanna see on your future phone? Feel free to write about them in the comment section down below.

Galaxy Note 4 beats iPhone 6 for customer satisfaction

Owners of the Galaxy Note 4 are the most satisfied consumers according to a new survey conducted by the American Satisfaction Index (ACSI). The latest survey from ACSI reveals that the Galaxy Note 4 tops the chart with 86% customer satisfaction while the Galaxy Note 3 comes joint second with the iPhone 6 Plus, Galaxy S5 and iPhone 6.
The survey shows that customers using the Galaxy Note 4 – which was released in October last year – are the most satisfied and despite the handset being several months old, it still ticks all the boxes for customers. Interestingly, the top six positions in the survey are taken by either Samsung or Apple and these two companies top the list for manufacturers.

Looking past the top of the list, both Samsung and Apple still dominate but Motorola, HTC and LG all feature on the list as well. The omission of any Sony devices from the top of the satisfaction survey suggests that Sony’s devices – which are not widely available in the US – don’t satisfy customers as much as its rivals do. Given that Sony’s smartphone sales performance has been dwindling over the past 12 to 18 months, the satisfaction survey reveals that the company has a lot to do to keep the key US market satisfied.
Looking at the list of manufacturers, the swing between Samsung and Apple – resulting in both companies tying for the top spot – could be due to less than stellar Galaxy S5 sales and Apple finally delivering the bigger screen its customers have been asking for.

Motorola‘s third spot shows that the company’s handsets – and in particular the Moto X, which can be customised to your specification through Moto Maker – offer the package that customers are looking for. BlackBerry‘s sales figures have also been steadily declining over the past few years but the company’s customers are the fourth most satisfied in the US.

Moving past the top four and HTC and Nokia may not have sold as many devices as their rivals but they came fifth and sixth in the list respectively: for HTC at least it shows that customers certainly do enjoy its HTC One range and for Nokia, it shows that despite Windows Phone being a much smaller OS than Android and iOS, its customers are certainly satisfied.
It’s worth noting that none of the latest flagships – the LG G4, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and HTC One M9 – had been released to the market when the survey was conducted, hence why they do not make an appearance on the smartphone list. The next survey will reveal whether Samsung’s switch in design with its latest smartphones will deliver higher satisfaction than Apple’s handsets.
Motorola launches Moto Maker in China

Motorola has just announced that it will start offering its device personalization service, Moto Maker, in China next month, where the platform will be available for the Moto X at the cost of RMB2,699 ($435), the Moto X Pro for RMB3,999 ($645) and the Moto G for RMB999 ($161).
For those unaware, Moto Maker allows its users to create a custom design for their smartphone by selecting a color together with the material for the rear panel, a color for the accent on the side of the handset and an engraving for the back.

The application is still in beta, so if you’d like to try it, you’ll need to jump through a few hoops to get the download. First, you’ll need to join the Microsoft Hyperlapse Mobile for Android preview Google+ community. After that, check out this site to become a tester. Then you can head to the Google Play Store to download the application. As always, it might take a few minutes for the Play Store link to show up for you, so you might need to be patient!
Have you tried the app yet? How are you liking it?
Deal: Original Moto X (16GB) for only $189.99, in new condition

When the original Motorola Moto X arrived it really changed the way we thought of smartphones. Instead of delivering a flagship with bleeding-edge specs and tons of gimmicky features, Motorola gave us a clean, near-stock device with meaningful extras like touchless control and active display technology. Even today, this handset manages to deliver an excellent Android experience, despite packing rather dated specs.
For those that have modest needs are a looking for a hassle-free Android device either as a backup or simply as a way of saving some money, the Moto X is still worthy of your consideration, especially at the current price of $189.99 on Ebay. Although we’ve seen the Moto X for even cheaper in the past, this has typically been for manufacturer refurbished models. The model here is a brand new 16GB Verizon version, which also supports unlocked GSM capabilities for using on networks outside of Big Red.
As a quick recap, the Moto X features a 4.7-inch 720p display, Motorola’s X8 computing system (centered around a Snapdragon S4), a 10MP rear cam, 16GB storage, and is capable of being updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Not bad specs considering this is basically the same price as you would pay for a brand new Moto G (2014). For a full rundown of what to expect, be sure to check out our review.
So how about it, anyone planning on picking up the original Moto X for just a little under $200?
Get the Moto X, Nexus 6, and Moto 360 for a hefty discount in the UK on May 18
If you’re in the market for a new smartphone and are looking to snag a deal, you might want to consider picking up a device from Motorola.
Once the bell rings midnight on May 18, Motorola is hosting a 48-hour sale on the Moto X, Nexus 6, and Moto 360 smartwatch. This is quite a hefty sale, too. The Moto X will get slashed by £96, bringing the 16GB to £299 and the 32GB solution to £339.
Up next is a fan-favorite, the Motorola-made Nexus 6. You can pick up Google’s 16GB flagship device for £449. If you want the 32GB option, it’ll run you £512. That’s a savings around £30 on the original price. Finally, we have the Moto 360 smartwatch, which will be priced at £150, for a whopping £50 discount.
Next weeks flash sale will certainly save those a chunk of money who were intent on purchasing one of these three devices. However, with recent rumors on a possible new Moto X and Moto 360, we can’t help but think Motorola is trying to clear out stock to make way for new and improved devices. After all, they have been putting on a lot of excellent sales for their devices lately. It makes you a little bit suspicious.
Either way, take advantage of the discounts while you can. There’s nothing like outstanding sales on some quite admirable devices. Then again, you may want to hold off until there’s more definite news on a couple new Motorola devices.
Are you picking one up? Let us know in the comments.

Motorola’s holding a two-day sale for its top devices in the UK
If the latest flagships from Samsung and HTC haven’t impressed you, now might be a good time to reconsider a Motorola phone. Starting at midnight on May 18th, the company is holding a 48-hour flash sale with hefty discounts on the Moto X, Nexus 6 and Moto 360 smartwatch. The Moto X is being cut by £96, pushing the 16GB model down to £299 and the 32GB version to £339. The gargantuan Nexus 6, meanwhile, is being dropped to £449 (32GB) and £519 (64GB), which is just £30 less than the current asking price.
We’ve seen a few signs pointing to a Moto 360 successor, so a price drop on the original isn’t too surprising. A device with a model number similar to the Moto 360 cropped up recently, and Lenovo’s CEO was spotted earlier this year with a briefcase full of smartwatch prototypes. In next week’s flash sale, the original Moto 360 is being cut to £150 — a 25 percent reduction, or a £50 saving. It’s a sizeable discount and signals an intent by Motorola to quickly clear out stock. Of course, it’s not a permanent price-drop, but we wouldn’t be shocked to see a bevy of similar sales in the coming months.

Third-gen Moto X could boast 16-megapixel camera with OIS
The next-gen Motorola X could pack a 16-megapixel rear camera that offers optical image stabilization and slow-motion video capture. That is, of course, provided the recent rumors prove to be accurate.
Reportedly, the 2015 version of the Motorola flagship line will record video at 1080p at 120 frames per second; at 720p you’ll have 240 fps as an option. Additionally, Motorola will allegedly return to using the Clear Pixel technology.
Other specifications being tossed about for the Moto X 2015 include the following:

Moto X (2013) Lollipop update coming in a ‘few weeks’, in testing now

While a number of Motorola devices have already made the jump to Lollipop, the same can’t be said for the original Moto X. For those Moto X owners still holding out for Google’s latest sweet treat, the good news is that it may finally be coming “in a few weeks”.
The news of the Moto X’s impending Lollipop update comes by way of Motorola’s David Schuster, who revealed the good word on Google Plus earlier today. Schuster says that a ‘test drive’ of the update has begun in North and Latin America and, if all goes well, the wider deployment should begin soon enough. For those wondering why it has taken so long for the Moto X (2013) to get updated to Lollipop, at least according to Schuster, “ It has been a struggle due to the lack of support from some of our partners”. Unfortunately, no real specifics have been shared beyond that.
I know that a lot of people have been asking about the status of the Moto X (1st Gen) Lollipop upgrade. I can see the frustration and in some cases the anger about how long it has taken to get the upgrade deployed. It has been a struggle due to the lack of support from some of our partners but I am glad to announce that we are starting TestDrive in both the US and LatAm. If all goes well we should start full deployments in a few weeks.

As for the flavor of Lollipop users will see? In April, Motorola confirmed that the Moto X would be jumping straight to Android 5.1 Lollipop from KitKat, although a few folks did manage to get hands on an earlier soak test of Android 5.0 on the Moto X (2013) before it was ultimately canceled in favor of moving to 5.1.
Bottom-line, the wait is almost over. For Moto X (2013) owners still on KitKat, how do you feel about this long wait? Disappointed, okay with it as long as it comes eventually? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

The 1st gen Moto X is still a pretty solid device for a lot of people. It was small, packed a lot of features and was very customizable. It did pretty well in many markets. What is missing from the device is Android 5.0 Lollipop though. We all want it of course. It would seem that we have a little information about said update in a Google+ post that went out this afternoon from Motorola’s Senior Director of Software Product Management, David Schuster.
In his brief post he explains that the update has been a struggle due to the lack of support from some of their partners. Never a fun statement, or realization, to have to make. None the less, he went on to say that they are starting to TestDrive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the US and in Latin America and with any luck, should begin rolling it out in a few weeks. That doesn’t mean everyone with a 1st Gen Moto X will see the update on deployment though. If history proves to be true, then it will most likely land on unlocked variants first with carrier branded versions to follow at some point afterwards. Hopefully all the carriers will be willing to jump on board and make the update happen on the aging device.
