LG Watch Urbane now available at Verizon Wireless
As expected, Verizon Wireless has now made the LG Watch Urbane available for $349, which is the same price as the Google Store. From what we can tell, it appears to be online only. Unfortunately the gold version isn’t showing, but that might change over the next few hours.
Two day shipping is also free, which is better than what the Google Store if offering. Even better, Verizon is shipping now so you will get your watch even sooner. Google is showing May 8th for shipping at of the time of this post.

LG’s posh Watch Urbane arrives at Google’s store for $349
You no longer have to wait for AT&T (or go through an importer) to buy LG’s ritzy-looking Watch Urbane in the US — it’s available to order today. Google is now carrying the upscale Android Wear timepiece in its store with a $349 price tag, which is pretty reasonable for a gadget crafted from leather and steel. The only catch is the roughly two-week shipping delay as of this writing. But hey, what’s a relatively short wait if it means (hopefully) impressing your smartwatch-savvy friends?

What we should expect spec-wise with tomorrow’s G4 unveiling from LG
With LG geared to announce the G3 successor tomorrow, there has been a wide-variety of leaks regarding the G4. Most of the leaks we’ve seen have been regarding the new leather backing the device is going to have. Others involve the camera. Well thanks to a last minute leak, we finally have an idea of the specs and size of the device.
According to the leak, the device will sit at 5.9 x 3 x 0.4 inches, just a wee bit bigger than that of the G3. The device will sport a slight top-to-bottom curve, much like the G Flex, and will come in at 0.14-ounces heavier than the G3 at 5.5-ounces. The screen itself will continue to pack the same size QHD (2,560×1,440) resolution as the current model, but will feature new display technology to improve image quality.
From what we see, it’s been all but confirmed that LG is using the Snapdragon 808 instead of the 810. It will also sport 3GB of RAM (DDR3 this time) and come with 32GB of onboard storage. Unlike the S6, the G4 will sport a microSD slot and will also have a 3,000mAh battery that’s swappable.
The camera gets a spec bump as well. The OiS, laser-focused camera is now 16MP and will feature a f/1.8 aperture lens. The front shooter will have an 8MP camera, up from 2.1MP. The device will have all the current wireless connectivity features and will come with both wireless charging and quick charging when plugged in.
Pricing and availability are yet to be announced, but we’re hopeful we’ll get an idea of what to expect tomorrow when the device is announced.

Verizon to sell LG’s Watch Urbane for $349 from April 28th
With its round face and sophisticated design, it’s easy to see why many of us think that LG’s Watch Urbane is arguably one of the most stylish looking smartwatches around. LG’s latest smartwatch only became available in Korea yesterday, and now we have news that the US carrier, Verizon, will be offering the Watch Urbane soon.
According to the leaked marketing material (courtesy of AndroidSpin), the Watch Urbane will be priced at $349 (£229). The model on offer is the standard version of the Watch Urbane that runs on the Android Wear operating system, unlike the LTE version that runs on LG’s ‘Wearable Platform‘ that is believed to be based on webOS.
The leaked material also gives away the date of availability, which is April 28th, coinciding nicely with the upcoming launch of LG’s latest flagship smartphone, the G4. The Watch Urbane does include the necessary WiFi component to take full advantage of the recent Android Wear update, unlike the square-faced G Watch. Is LG’s Watch Urbane the Android Wear smartwatch you’ve been waiting for?

How much will the LG G4 cost? Signs point to it being more than a Galaxy S6

Just earlier today, it was revealed to us exactly what the production process is for LG to make those leather back covers for its latest flagship, the LG G4. Among other things, it was revealed that LG is using high-quality cow leather that takes 12 weeks to prepare properly, which really begs the question given all this extra effort to make this device: How much will the LG G4 cost? Well, according to South Korean telco, SK Telecom, the expected price of the LG G4 is going to be $825 USD. If this is true, this would make it 30 dollars more than the Samsung Galaxy S6 ($795), but still less than the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which costs $908.
Keep in mind that these prices are region specific and that the numbers will not be exactly the same wherever you are in the world. However, it does highlight the relative price difference of the LG G4 compared to the Galaxy S6, which is itself not a cheap device, and puts a big question mark over whether people are going to be won over by LG’s bold strategy. As always, only time will tell.

A lot of smartphone manufacturers have tried to emulate the leather feeling on their devices with an assortment of faux-leather options, however LG has revealed it is going all out to give its customers the genuine leather feeling with its latest flagship, the LG G4. In a blog post detailing the process by which the LG G4’s leather back covers are produced, LG revealed that the LG G4 uses high-quality cow leather which takes 12 weeks to properly process. Only the top most layer of the cow leather is used for the LG G4, which LG says is “among the most luxurious and expensive area in luxury leather goods”.
LG also mentions the curing processes it uses to make its leather more durable and authentic, including the aforementioned vegetable tanning and edge coating. There’s also a surprising amount of handmade work put into these covers, including the leather stitching and the painting and dyeing of the covers. It sounds like a properly, genuine process, and we can only imagine LG will suffer from some supply issues if this gets particularly popular, but we applaud the South Korean outfit for doing something a little different.
What do you think about the fact the LG G4 uses high-quality cow leather in such an extensive production process? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

The LG Watch Urbane is probably one of the hottest Android Wear devices that has ever been created. The Moto 360 is still top of the list for many who want Android Wear on a round faced device. Sure the LG G Watch R did it too, but not to the elegance of the Moto 360. The LG Watch Urbane on the other hand, has easily been responsible for some puddles of drool for many enthusiasts. The new watch did receive an official announcement this week that placed it in the Play Store by the end of the month with it gracing Korea today. Thanks to a source, we also have confirmation that the LG Watch Urbane will be landing on Verizon‘s network on April 28th for $349.99.
Are you going to be one of the first to buy the LG Watch Urbane, or are you going to hold off for a Moto 360 refresher?

The LG Watch Urbane has launched in Korea and it’s not really that expensive

LG announced earlier this week that its latest smartwatch, the LG Watch Urbane, was going to launch this week in Korea, and it has now done so overnight. Hosted on the Google Play Store, we’re now finally able to see what this new premium smartwatch from LG is going to cost, and surprisingly it doesn’t look like the premium-marketed smartwatch is going to break the bank. In equivalent US dollar terms, LG’s last smartwatch, the LG G Watch R, launched at about $332 and the LG Watch Urbane is going to cost a little more at $365. Whether that same difference in pricing carries over when it crosses the oceans is anybody’s guess, but it’s certainly not so much more that it makes it inaccessible to the average Android enthusiast.
As mentioned in LG’s announcement a few days ago, the LG Watch Urbane will be the first Android Wear device to get the latest update which introduces a spate of great new features including Wi-Fi support, which will allow your phone and watch to stay connected as long as your watch maintains a Wi-Fi connection and your phone has a mobile data connection. We’re interested to see how the watch is actually received when people start getting it into their hands so stay tuned.
