The G4 Stylus is a 5.7-inch handset, slightly larger than the 5.5-inch display found in the G4. As its name implies, The G4 Stylus includes LG’s versatile Rubberdium™ Stylus, allowing for easy note taking and drawing on the generously-sized screen. Its smaller sibling, the 5.0-inch LG G4c, offers many of the G4’s premium features and styling but in a more compact form factor.
Both G4 Series phones feature 13MP or 8MP rear cameras and 5MP front-facing camera for high quality photos and portraits. Other popular LG exclusives such as Gesture Shot, Glance View and Knock Code™ make both devices more convenient, secure and fun to use. The G4 Stylus inherits the super-fast Laser Autofocus feature found in previous G Series smartphones for sharply focused shots even in dim surroundings. HD quality IPS displays with In-Cell Touch technology deliver a visual experience that is far more immersive and responsive than on most other smartphones in this class.
“The G4 Stylus and G4c are perfect examples of what we mean by a premium smartphone experience without a premium price,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “We are committed to offering consumers in fast-growing markets LG devices that not only deliver performance, but also look good while doing so. Both the G4 Stylus and G4c will surpass customers’ expectations of what an LG phone should be.”
The G4 Stylus (available as G Stylo in North America and Korea) will be offered in both LTE and 3G configurations in Metallic Silver or Floral White color options. The G4c is an LTE model only and will come in Metallic Gray, Ceramic White and Shiny Gold.
The LG G4 Stylus and G4c are scheduled to launch in key strategic markets in the weeks to come. Prices and participating carriers will be announced locally at the time of availability.

Google Maps app suddenly shows up on an Android Wear watch

After updating his phone to Google Maps version 9.9, an Android Central writer made a surprising discovery: a near-fully functional Google Maps app had suddenly appeared on his Wear watch as well. The app reportedly works much like the standard mobile phone or tablet version (ie pinch to zoom, swipe to navigate) and even opens with the “Ok Google” voice command. But it’s not perfect however. For example, launching the app on your watch apparently causes it to also launch on the phone. Plus the watch app could only be closed by physically pressing the LG Watch Urbane’s side button. While it’s nice that Android Wear now mirrors the Maps functionality that Apple Watch wearers enjoy, the watch app’s overall bugginess is likely enough to make you just keep fishing out your phone for directions.

LG’s super-thin OLED screen sticks to your wall using magnets
Forget buying a clunky wall mount for your TV… what if you could stick it up like a fridge magnet? LG Display is hoping you’ll do just that. The company has unveiled a 55-inch OLED screen that’s so thin and light (0.04 inches and 4.2 pounds) that you can put it on your wall using a magnetic mat. The design doesn’t exactly leave room for much else — you’d probably need a breakout box for TV functions — but it raises the possibility of big-screen sets that easily blend into your living room’s decor. Unfortunately, LG isn’t saying if or when this panel will translate into a real product. You’ll most likely have to settle for the company’s more conventional OLED TVs in the short term, including a giant 99-incher due this year.

LG busts out budget and Note-style versions of the G4
LG’s leather-clad flagship hits stores this week, but no blockbuster device can come to the party without its squad in tow. That’s why, in addition to the G4, the company is outing the Galaxy Note-troubling G4 Stylus and the budget-level G4c. Much like its immediate rival, the G4 Stylus comes with a 5.7-inch display and that famous Rubberdium(TM) pencil for scribbling. You may, however, be upset to spot that the device comes with a few downgrades on its relative, with the 13-megapixel camera a small downgrade on the 16-megapixel lens on the original. Oh, and if you’re looking to pick one up in North America or Korea, you’ll have to ask the assistant for a G Stylo, because someone in a marketing department was paid too much money.
Meanwhile, the previously leaked LG G4c is a stripped down kid brother to the G4, with a 5-inch HD display. Rounding out the spec list, you’ll find a 1.2GHz quad-core chip and a vanilla 8-megapixel camera that loses LG’s much-trumpeted laser auto focus feature. The battery’s also been shrunk in the wash, which now clocks in at 2,540mAh, down from the 3,000 you’ll find in the other two. If you’re looking to snag either one, the company promises that they’ll arrive in “key strategic markets in the weeks to come,” with pricing to be announced when they launch in each individual country.

LG unveils affordable alternatives to the G4, the G4 Stylus and G4c
LG has confirmed the existence of both the previously leaked G4c and the G4 Stylus by officially announcing them today in Seoul.
The G4 Stylus appears to be more economical Galaxy Note competitor. As the name implies, a Rubberdium Stylus is included for easy note taking or drawing. The phone sports a 5.7-inch HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core (LTE version) or 1.4 GHz octa-core (3G version) procesor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD slot for expanded storage, 13 MP (LTE) or 8MP (3G) rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, 3,000 mAh removable battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. I should note that the camera includes laser autofocus, but it does not include optical image stabilization or that amazing f/1.9 aperture found on the G4. You will have your choice of Floral White or Metallic Silver and it starts shipping to carriers and retailers over the next several weeks. It will be called the G Stylo in North America and Korea.
The G4c is a compact version of the G4. However, just like most compact versions of flagship devices, the specs aren’t as powerful in order to keep the price down. This phone sports a 5.0-inch HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD slot for expanded storage, 8 MP rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, 2,540 mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop. They will only offer an LTE version, and you will have your choice of either Metallic Gray, Ceramic White, or Shiny Gold. Just like the Sylus, LG will start shipping this device to carriers and retailers over the next several weeks.
Although neither phone compares to the LG G4 in terms of specs, they will both offer most of the same software enhancements like Knock Code, Gesture Shot, and Glance View.
Pricing wasn’t announced yet, but we will be sure to let you know as soon as we find out.

LG announces G4c, a smaller sibling to flagship model
LG today confirmed that a smaller, lesser-powered version of its G4 smartphone will soon be available. Expected to launch in “key strategic markets” in the coming weeks, the phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and features a number of LG software exclusives.
In terms of hardware, the phone comes with a 5-inch HD display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. Powering things are a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and a 2540 removable battery. Storage is listed at 8GB with expansion available via microSD cards.
The LG G4c will be sold in a variety of colors including Metallic Gray, Ceramic White, and Shiny Gold.
Pricing and exact availability will be announced in the weeks to come.

LG announces mid-range G4 Stylus and G4c

LG has unveiled two new smartphones under its G4 nametag, the G4 Stylus and the G4c. The two are positioned as less expensive, mid-range alternatives to the company’s latest G4 flagship.
The G4 Stylus is a re-branded G Stylo, which has already arrived the US and Korea, and will be available on T-Mobile later in the summer. The handset features a 5.7-inch 720p display and a quad-core processor in the LTE model, which we’ll assume is the same Snapdragon 410 processor as before. The handset also comes with 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM with microSD support and a removable 3,000mAh battery. As the name implies, the handset also supports a stylus pen for handwriting.
The 3G-only model of the G4 Stylus lists an unspecified octa-core processor, possibly a MediaTek chip. The LTE model also comes with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing snapper, while the 3G model bumps this down to an 8MP camera on the back. The handset comes in a choice of either Metallic Silver or Floral White.

As reported last week, the G4c is a smaller version of the G4, but we hesitate to call it a “mini”. The handset features a 5-inch 720p display, an unspecified quad-core SoC (again likely to be the Snapdragon 410) and the same 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM and microSD card as the G4 Stylus. The handset also comes equipped with an 8MP rear and 5MP front camera combination, LTE data, and a 2,540mAh removable battery. The G4c will come in Metallic Gray, Ceramic White and Shiny Gold color options.
To differentiate its new phones from the wide choice of other mid-rangers, LG has chosen to borrow a few features from its flagships. The handsets both support Knock Code, Gesture Shot and Glance View, while the G4 Stylus’ camera also makes use of laser autofocus.
We’re still waiting for an exact release schedule and regional prices, which should be confirmed in the coming weeks. Have either of these two caught your eye?

AT&T has added a new device to their line up today by way of the LG Escape2. This is the follow-up device to the original Escape that LG released with AT&T back in 2012, but looks much better. The Escape 2 takes a lot of its design elements from the G Flex 2 and LG G4 with its rear volume/power buttons and curved body, but brings the higher-end specs down to help lower the cost considerably. It packs in a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with 1GB of RAM.
The Escape2 also offers a 8MP rear camera with flash, a smaller 1MP front facer for selfies and uses LG‘s gestures to snap photos without pressing a button or tapping the screen. You will find the typical lower storage of 8GB internally, but it is expandable with a Micro SD card. They list it as supporting up to 32GB’s, but it will probably handle more if you have it. As for the screen you are looking at a 4.7-inch at 1280 x 720 and is all powered by a removable 2,100 mAh battery that is rated for 14 hours talk time. Additional attributes include Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 5GHz Wi-Fi compatible and rocking Android 5.0 out of the box.
The device is listed at a fairly solid price point of $179.99 outright, but you can pick it up for $0.99 on a two-year contract if you really wanted too. You also have the NEXT program options setting the device up on NEXT 24 for $6.00 a month, NEXT 18 at $7.50 a month and NEXT 12 for $9.00 a month.

LG has made an announcement this evening, well, tomorrow morning is you consider the time difference from the US to Seoul. In the press release the company went over their two new entries to smartphone game that play off the flagship G4 branding, but with a more budgeted aim to them. First up is a larger Note style device branded as the LG G4 Stylus. Not to be confused with the LG G Stylo that Boost Mobile recently released, although very similar. This device packs a 5.7-inch display, a 13MP rear camera, quad-core 1.2GHz processor (LTE variant), 1GB of RAM, a removable 3,000 mAh battery, 8GB internal storage, micro SD card slot and Android 5.0 on board. As the name would suggest, it does offer up a stylus. LG is quick to point out that it includes a “versitile Rubberdium Stylus which allows for easy note taking and such.
The other device on the announcement list is the LG G4c. This little guy packs a 5-inch screen, 1.2GHZ quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, a 8MP rear camera and a removable 2,540mAh battery.
Both devices will carry may of the LG features users of the higher-end variants love such as Knock Code that lets you unlock your device via a series of screen knocks and gesture shot for easy selfie taking. LG doesn’t offer up specific launch dates or carriers, but they do make mention that they will be sipping out world-wide over the next few weeks. I can imagine that their “premium smartphone experience without a premium price” statement will keep these device at a very affordable outright purchase price. My guess would peg the G4 Stylus around $300 with the G4c sitting near or under $200.

T-Mobile prepaid customers could get the LG Leon smartphone for free: Rumor
After the innumerable discounts offered by T-Mobile for its prepaid customers, a new one has just cropped up which could easily take the cake.
According to an internal memo accessed by a popular fan site, the company will offer the LG Leon LTE smartphone for free on the 20th of May for customers who sign up for a prepaid plan higher than $40 or pick the Simple Choice No Credit (SCNC) plan.
The smartphone is expected to hit the shelves along with its bigger sibling the LG G Stylo, so the promotion will come across as attractive to potential buyers. It must be noted that the Leon LTE will be offered for free only after a rebate by the carrier.
Discount amounts vary depending on what plan you’ve chosen, as TMo News states. Those who chose the regular prepaid option will see that the price of the smartphone has come down to $50, which will then be reimbursed to you in the form of an online rebate. But for those on the SCNC plan, the Leon LTE will cost $149.76, which will also be fully discounted in the form of a rebate. So regardless of which plan you pick, you stand to save some money if you choose the LG Leon LTE.
How does it sound?
