Global launch of the LG G3 to start June 27th in Asia, Europe and Middle East
The LG G3 was announced to much fanfare just over one month ago, however its presence has so far only been felt in LG‘s native country of South Korea. Despite this, The LG G3 managed to post some very impressive sales figures, even outselling the peak rate of sales for the Samsung Galaxy S5. Luckily […]
LG G3 Mini rumored to sport a 4.5″ display

The LG G3 is amongst the best of the Android devices on the market at the moment, and the trend of releasing mini versions of flagship devices seems to be continuing if a rumour is anything to go by.
According to a database entry on an Indian import manifesto, a handset referenced as D722 is mentioned which is believed to be the LG G3 Mini. The device is expected to have a 4.5-inch 720p display, a 5-Megapixel rear camera, 8GB of internal storage, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, and a 2,100mAh battery.
Whilst there is no word of a release date of the LG G3 Mini, with it appearing on import/export lists you would expect it wouldn’t be too long before we see it on the market.

New LG G Pad series shown off in promo video, roller skate with it and more

LG’s new tablet series kicked off in Europe last week with the G Pad 7.0 and now you can get a look at features on all the devices in a promo video released Tuesday.
Aside from showing some absurd and unique ways you can use the devices, such as while roller skating, although we wouldn’t recommend it, or at the barber, the video also shows some features unique to the devices.
Some things highlighted in the video are Quick Memo+, Smart Keyboard, Touch & Shoot, Knock Code, QPair 2.0 (notifications as well as the ability to answer calls and texts from your phone), Dual Window and a new graphic interface.
Along with the G Pad 7.0, we should see the G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 deployed in the next few weeks, and hopefully, some global expansion. The devices will be available in five colors — black, white, red, orange and blue.

Nexus 6 won’t be made by LG, according to a company executive

The Nexus 6 is a device of much rumor at the moment. While the last two Nexus smartphones were made by LG, as well as the only Nexus tablets, company communications director Ken Hong recently said he didn’t know anything about the it, when they were usually informed.
“That can mean two things,” Hong said. “Either I got ignored, or we simply won’t be making [the Nexus 6].”
Hong also said that Google determines how many are to be made, so usually when they are asked, they then deliver that many devices.
Recent rumors have suggested that the new Nexus device would be based on the LG G3, but at this point, who knows if one is even coming at all.
The device is rumored to make an appearance at Google I/O next week.

LG company exec implies there will currently be no Nexus 6 from the Manufacturer
Word on the street is that the Nexus line is ending and that it will be replaced by a new line of devices that will come under the name of Android Silver. LG is one manufacturer who’s name who has been thrown around when talking about Android Silver, but we haven’t had much indication of whether either of these rumours are true. We might have gotten a big hint though from Ken Hong, Communications Director at LG, who has implied that there will be no Nexus 6 and said this regarding whether Google has contacted LG about making a Nexus device this year:
“I know at least not yet. Normally we were informed… That can mean two things. Either I got ignored, or we won’t be making [the Nexus 6]“
While it’s not a straight up “no”, it would be unusual for LG not to know by now whether they are making the next Nexus device. That’s not to say that they still won’t, but the evidence is mounting that Android Silver is going to be the flavour of devices coming from Google from now on.
What do you think about what Ken Hong has had to say about the Nexus 6? Do you think we will see a Nexus 6 before Android Silver comes into play? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

LG launches a trio of LG G Pad tablets to rival Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Line
While Samsung was happy to announce its Galaxy Tab S devices as the main event on June 12th, LG was content to release a trio of tablets that same day but in a slightly different league. These three tablets are LG’s new LG G Pad series featuring 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch versions, and if those dimensions look familiar, that’s because they are the same size offerings of the Samsung Galaxy Tab devices. While LG’s G Pad 8.3 was surely a very solid device, it was losing market share in the tablet market without matching offerings at 7 and 10.1-inches, and so we arrive now at June 12th with this announcement.
Much like the Galaxy Tab tablets, the LG G Pad series compromises between price and performance, all housing quadcore 1.2GHz processors, 1GB RAM and 1280×800 IPS displays. Add to that availability in Black, White, Red, Luminous Orange and Luminous Blue, and you have an extremely vibrant range of devices. A nice addition that LG has made to these tablets is the introduction of QPair 2.0 which allows Android smartphones to sync with Android tablets over Bluetooth, enabling the tablet to receive calls and messages. While they won’t set the world on fire with their performance, it’s clear that there is a big market in this range of tablets and we’ll see if the LG G Pad series can work wonders for LG.
What do you think of LG’s new LG G Pad tablets? Are you interested in any of these devices? Let us know in the comments below.

The LG G3 is so hot: LG shows the best way to advertise 4K video is in an active Volcano
There is some pretty elaborate advertising out there these days, but this one definitely takes the cake for being the most breathtaking in recent memory. The ad was put together as part of the LG G3 4K Active Volcano Photo Shot Project, which follows the journey of photographer Jung-won Park and his life-long dream to photograph the heart of an active volcano. As part of the project, Jung-won visited Ambrym Island, took in all the local culture as well as all the sights before making his ascent to the volcano, taking pictures with his LG G3 all the while. Check out the full 5 minute ad below:
It’s a fascinating journey, and surprisingly a really good way for LG to showcase the wonderful OIS+ enhanced camera on the LG G3; whether the pictures featured in the video are actually from the LG G3 is entirely up for debate though. And even if it was a pretty expensive and extreme way of advertising the LG G3, you can’t argue with the results: a 4K video of the bubbling surface of an active volcano. If only YouTube supported 4K videos…
What do you think about Jung-won Park’s journey into a volcano with a LG G3? Let us know your thoughts on the ad in the comments.

Verizon to carry LG G3 on July 17, report says

Verizon will offer the LG G3 starting from July 17, or so says a source close to @evleaks. Reportedly, the device will be made available for pre-orders one week earlier, on June 10. It’s unclear whether other carriers are expecting to carry the flagship device on or around the same time but we’d be surprised if any provider had an exclusive for more than a few days. So there you have it, put aside your money or start selling your stuff!
