Invites for LG events hit inboxes, LG G4 should be taking center stage
The previous rumors that LG would be pushing their next flagship device announcement back to April seem to be pretty spot on now that we have invites for just such an event. It was reported that LG would knock things back a little bit was to let them have their own limelight and not be […]

LG makes April 28th press event day, will probably be the LG G4
LG has announced they’ll be holding a press event on April 28th, and unless they’re planning on shocking us with something that’s flown completely under the radar, we’ll probably see the G4 that day.
LG is holding events in New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Istanbul, and Singapore, so they’d be going through a lot of unnecessary trouble to announce something that wasn’t a major phone for 2015. The press event shows what looks like leather stitching on what might be a book or notepad, so the G4 Note may make an appearance, but rest assured that whatever is shown off, it’s going to be big.
We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to the end of April.

Verizon starts rolling out Lollipop update for the LG G2
Verizon is now pushing out the much-anticipated, eagerly-awaited Lollipop update to all carrier-branded models of the LG G2 located in the United States. All the changes you’d expect to find in Lollipop are bundled into this update, including support for multiple accounts, improved notifications, a smoother multitasking experience and the recently-announced Material Design guidelines.
To start the upgrade, make sure you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. Then, from the home screen, press the Menu key, followed by Settings. Scroll to the bottom and tap ‘About Device’, followed by ‘Software Update and ‘Update Now’.

LG budget devices rolling out worldwide
LG will soon be offering a line of mid-range devices worldwide. Recently unveiled at this year’s Mobile World Congress, LG’s line of ultra-affordable, premium phones will first start rolling out in South America. Subsequent roll-outs will follow in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and North America. The phones to be introduced to the market by the South Korean manufacturer may not be as familiar to Android users as the often coveted G line of devices. With names like Magna, Spirit, Leon and Joy slated for release, LG seems to be trying to brand their phones with premium titles.
The specs for these phones are no joke to the segment of the market they are rumored to target. LG makes sure that these devices aren’t pushovers with all but one coming with a quad-core proc and most shipping with 1GB of memory. The specs don’t come close to devices like the G3, but they aren’t supposed to. The whole idea of this lineup is to give a premium user experience on a reasonably priced budget. LG does this by including features of its already popular smartphone lineup, tuning each device family to a specific level, and adjusting the price accordingly. What do you think? Will you be giving LG’s new budget lineup a try?

LG G4 benchmarks show a Snapdragon 808 processor
We’re still waiting for anything official about the G4 to come from LG, but in the meantime, expect plenty of rumors and leaks to surface. A recent benchmark has revealed some of the hardware in the device, including a Snapdragon 808 processor, not the Snapdragon 810 that we’re seeing in lots of other new (overheating) devices.
The Snapdragon 808 was announced at the same time as the 810, and it’s still an extremely capable processor. The benchmark scores put it slightly below the 810, though, so it’s not at the top of the heap. With all of the overheating issues surrounding the HTC One M9 and the LG G Flex 2, it makes sense that LG might be willing to sacrifice a negligible amount of performance to keep their device from reaching high temperatures and throttling performance.
Other specs include a 5.5-inch quad HD display, like what’s on the G3, and 3 GB of RAM. Android 5.1 will be shipping with the G4 out of the box.
What are your thoughts on LG using a slightly slower processor in the G4?

LG Watch Urbane Launching April 27

LG is planning on making its third step into the world of smartwatches with the LG G Watch Urbane. The watch is a bit more sophisticated than the stunning G Watch R, and is more suited for normal wear as opposed to active wear.
The new design is polished and refined, with dust and water resistance included. Under the hood, the internals are identical to the G Watch R, so you can expect a half gig of RAM, a Snapdragon 400, and a 410 mAh battery.
According to Clove, you can expect to see the G Watch to be released April 27th for about 225 GBP, or near $335. Anyone who has a device running Android 4.3 can use the Android Wear-powered watch, so if that’s you, keep an eye out on TalkAndroid.com for more updates on when and where you can get an LG G Watch Urbane.

Photos purportedly showing the LG G4 leak online
The phone in these images look like the LG G3, but you might notice some subtle differences. That’s because it could actually be pictures of the brand’s yet-to-be-released flagship, the G4. An XDA Developer user called s3rv1cet3ch posted a folder of images on the forum, explicitly calling it the G4. The user also noted that it has stylus on the top left corner, but if this is the Korean version of the device, that could very well be a TV antenna. After all, G3’s Korean version has an antenna you can pull out on that exact spot.
Unlike its predecessor’s circular components, this device has a square camera sensor and a rectangular power button. The photos of its interface below also indicate that it’s loaded with Android Lollipop out of the box. According to Yonhap News, the G4 is supposed to have a curved, 5-inch Quad HD display — we can’t really see any curve in these images, but it might be due to the phone’s angle. Of course, this could be a different phone altogether. Some eagle-eyed folk have spotted “M8936″ in the baseband version, which would suggest this phone holds a Snapdragon 610 — not really what you’d expect in a flagship (where an 8-series would be more appropriate). Unless this was a design concept with temporary innards? Either way, we won’t know for sure until LG officially unveils the new flagship phone by the end of April.

Is this what the LG G4 Note will look like?
This summer, it seems that LG will join Samsung in releasing a handset that is centered around the use of a stylus. The name device itself have yet to be confirmed but it is currently being called the G4 Note (or G Note). In fact, it could be the device that LG selects as its flagship for 2015. Not much is know about the G4 Note at this time, but images have surfaced showing an alleged pre-release model.
The images were posted by s3rv1cet3ch on the XDA Forums and show the front and rear of the device. The front looks like a cross between the G3 and G Flex 2. The bottom of the front features the company logo on a black frame that is outlined with grey.
The rear shows what seems to be either metal or some either high quality material. It looks identical to any other flagship device released by LG within the last two years due to the rear button setup. The buttons are not shiny and instead look like they have a matte finish. Viewing from the back, you will notice that the stylus slot is placed on the top left. Samsung goes with bottom placement for its styluses.
The software images do not giveaway much aside from the version of Android running. Here, we see Android 5.0.2 Lollipop in the form of build LRX22G.
