Another 14-Minute Review Video of the All New HTC One Comes from Germany

all-new-htc-one-review

The All New HTC One just can’t stay hidden. Another hands-on video surfaces from Germany showing an in-depth look into the New HTC One. I don’t know what it is about this video, but as I was watching it, something about the New HTC One’s look got me all tingly. Sure, it doesn’t strive too far away from the original designed, but the way those rounded corners look gave my eyes a little candy. This guy also dives into the dual-camera, where he shows off a 3D capture mode, which is not a bad little added feature to the camera. The gestures that we saw in that Sense 6 video are also talked about, and we of course get a get look at the new UI. So check out the video below if you want more of the New HTC One. He does speak German so you might not be able to understand him.

HTC in full hype mode for HTC One

HTC is just full of themselves and now on their website they are stating, “Get ready to hit refresh.”  Is this pointing to an immediate release after announcement? I think so!  With last week’s announcement that Carphone Warehouse, in the UK, will be selling the new One after is it announced and with HTC hinting us to ‘hit refresh’ seems like consumers will be able to purchase the device online and maybe in stores.

Now, we all know about the time delay that Verizion customers faced last year with the original One release.  However, Verizon is not playing games this go around! This morning a picture of a new HTC One promo box surfaced also stating, ‘hit refresh’, on March 25th.  So I think it is safe to say that Verizon is playing ball this year and trying to get the latest from HTC into the hands of its customers.

What about the other carriers? No news yet, but if Verizon is launching on Day 1, I would say that AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint (cross your fingers) are not far behind.

gray_leather_600_0002Moto 360

Motorola’s first foray into the smartwatch space could employ wireless charging and a Sapphire glass face, says G for Games. Whereas everyone else seems to go the route of Gorilla Glass, this one would would separate itself from the pack. As far as the wireless charging is concerned, we’re still betting on something akin to the Qualcomm Toq.

Amazon Smartphone

The long-rumored Amazon may finally be close at hand, according to new reports from this week. Reportedly, the device will feature a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 4.7-inch display, and a battery approaching 2400mAh. In addition to a 13-megapixel rear camera and front-facing shooter, the smartphone is alleged to house a camera in each of the four front-facing corners. Their purpose? To track eyes and gestures for a hands-free experience. We are told to expect the device within 3-6 months.

Samsung Galaxy Beam

A new, unannounced Samsung Galaxy Beam has been spotted with a projector. This may be a China only phone, as the photos came from Tenaa, a telecommunications equipment certification center in China, and the device has China Mobile branding on it.

HTC Sense 6

According to a video now removed from YouTube, HTC Sense 6.0 may include a double-tap to wake feature. Although we didn’t get a look at the video, it was apparently an HTC One running a a ROM ported from the All New HTC One or “M8.”

Google may introduce an 8.9-inch Nexus tablet later this year, or so says semi-reliable Digitimes. Specifications are said to include Android 5.0 and a screen with resolution higher than that of 2K displays.  Reportedly, the tablet could be priced around $299 when it arrives.

An SM-G750 has been spotted in ueser agent profiles on Samsung’s website, leading some to suggest this is a Galaxy S5 variant. All New HTC One Dummy Unit Poses with Other Popular Phones

htc-one-compared-2

It wouldn’t shock me, if HTC’s CEO just walked out on stage at their event, raised the New HTC One up in the air and yelled, “Here it is! Go get it!” then just walked off stage. The All New HTC One has been spotted more times in the wild than the Loch Ness Monster, and today, we get a dummy unit posing with some other phones you might have heard of.

The new HTC One M8 will go on sale minutes after being announced

The general trend when releasing a new phone is that it doesn’t necessarily hit retail stores until it a few weeks or months after being announced. It seems that HTC are looking to break that trend in the UK at least as Carphone Warehouse have announed that the next-generation HTC One will be available for immediate purchase just minutes after it is officially announced on March 25th.

Carphone Warehouse confirms that you’ll be able to pick up the brand new HTC One M8 from around 4pm from their retail stores, and shortly after from their online store.

As soon as the announcement is made at the HTC events in London and New York City next week, handsets will be transported from the venue to six retail locations around London.

“We know how keen customers are to get hold of the latest tech as soon as possible and that is why we are so excited to be able to offer the new HTC One so quickly after it is unveiled.”

The selected stores are Westfield Stratford, Westfield White City, Oxford Circus, Centrepoint, Tottenham Court Road, and Selfridges. It’s definitely a welcome move from both HTC and the Carphone Warehouse to get the handsets into consumers hands as soon as possible, and hopefully something more manufacturers will adopt in future.

Will you be picking up a new HTC One M8?

HTC Features ZOE in their New Technical Translation Video

htc-one-zoe-technical-translation

Technical Translation has been a very humorous look into the HTC One’s features, and today, we get a look at photo gallery feature, ZOE. This was another feature that a lot people actually enjoyed seeing when it was unveiled, but I think Google’s Auto Awesome took a little spotlight away from the feature.

Like the rest of the Technical Translation videos, the two men tease the All New HTC One at the end, by bleeping out words and blurring out the device. It is another funny chapter in HTC’s new campaign, so check it out and let us know what you think.

Sense 6 Motion Gestures and Themes Shown Off in New Video

sense-6-all-new-htc-one

The All New HTC One has probably endured the most leaks out of any phone that has had high anticipation. I mean there is no stopping these leaks, and we still have over a week until the HTC event where they plan on unveiling the new flagship. Today we get yet another video, but this time it has more to do with Sense 6 than the actually phone.

A clever developer has ported over a Sense 6 build to his original HTC one, and decided to run through the new interface with a Screencast video to show us what we are in store for. He runs through the various wallpapers and themes, which we have already gotten a taste of. What we haven’t seen yet, is motion gestures. Seems that with Sense 6, you have the option to utilize these motion gestures to make easier for you to access certain apps or controls. For instance, if your phone is off, and you swipe to the left, you can quickly access the widgets panel. Swiping right will bring you to BlinkFeed, and swiping up will unlock your phone. Nothing too innovative, but a nice added bonus.

I guess it is safe to say that anybody who has ported this build to their phones, and have made a video about it, will suffer some legal action like that kid who leaked the 12-minute video. I understand that they want to get the views, but it is not worth it if you have to pay a hefty fine. Wait until the after March 25th’s event before doing something like that, you dinguses. Check out the video below to check all these features out in action. Let us know your thoughts about it.

The week’s best Android rumors: Google Smartwatch, Nexus 8, LG G3, and more

Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom

The first details for Samsung’s camera-centric Galaxy S5 experience have surfaced in new benchmarks. Assuming they’re accurate, the SM-C115 should employ a hexa-core Exynos chip, a 4.8-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM,  internal storage, and microSD expansion. As for the camera aspect, we could be looking at a 20-megapixel sensor for the back and 2-megapixels up front.

amazon-bluetooth-controller_leakAmazon Set-Top Box

Although rumors of a set-top Amazon experience have been floating around for months on end, we’re finally starting to “see” movement. An image of the alleged Bluetooth controller has emerged, leading many to assume the device could focus heavily on gaming. The button configuration shows the popular Android functions so we might expect easy navigation for apps, perhaps like a Roku.

LG G3

The upcoming LG G3 could be waterproof and dustproof, according to Korean news outlet ETNews (translate). Although there’s no indication as to when the device will arrive, it’s likely to land with a big bang.  Recent chatter also suggests the G3 will be the basis for the Nexus 6, due later this year.

A user agent discovered on LG’s website tells us that the G3 could employ a 2,560×1,440 resolution display, or 2K picture.

Google Smartwatch

The picture for the long-anticipated Google smartwatch gets clearer thanks to a new set of alleged specifications obtained by evleaks. According to his source, the LG-made device will feature  1.65-inch LDC (280×280 pixels), 512MB RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. Processor and battery are still unclear but we expect that to surface in the coming weeks.

Amazon “Project Aria” Smartphone

Amazon’s rumored first smartphone is expected to debut later this year, according to The Information. While this isn’t the first time we’ve heard such chatter, there’s a bit more to add to the story. Reports indicate the device is under the code name of “Project Aria” and Amazon is evaluating various markets for its eventual release.

chromium_tangoProject Tango

Google’s recently announced 3D mapping project, Project Tango, has shown up on Chromium, the Chrome issue tracker. It has been revealed that the 5-inch phone will feature a 4-megapixel rear camera with 180 degrees Field of View (FOV), a depth camera 320×180@5Hz and a front-facing camera with 120 degrees FOV.

Nexus 8

Google could turn to Intel for the processor of the next-gen tablet experience. Rumored to be the Nexus 8, it may feature Intel’s Moorefield processor which offers 4 cores of 2.3GHz worth of power.  Should this prove accurate, it may spur development of apps written with compatibility for Intel chipsets.

HTC One

In what must be the most solid leak to date, the second generation HTC One has been leaked out in sales guide showing Snapdragon 801, 2600mAh battery, touch-to-wake functionality and more. Also, Spigen have prematurely listed cases for the second generation HTC One.
