LG could be making the next Nexus phone
The next Nexus phone faces a bit of a naming dilemma – where do they go after the Nexus 6? Can’t go Nexus 7 because that already exists, and any reduction in number would seem like a step back in generation. Whatever Google decide to call the next Nexus, a new report suggests that the manufacturer behind the device is LG.
Codenamed ‘N000′, sources report that Google engineers recently visited LG headquarters in South Korea to discuss the device, which also reportedly carries the name ‘Nexus 7′, but take that with a pinch of salt.
If true, this would be the third Nexus device made by LG in the lineup. Would you like to see a third LG Nexus device?

Android Auto is finally here, official app is now available in Google Play
After nearly a year from it’s official introduction, Android Auto is finally available. Last week brought the first 3rd party head unit from Pioneer Electronics, but with no official app, it was unusable.
Today, Google released the Android Auto app which is necessary in order to bring Auto compatible apps to your dash. All developers needs to do is add the necessary code to their apps, and they can be viewed and controlled from your car’s dash. Now that the app is official, we should start seeing more apps get integrated over the new few weeks. We will also see more head units available from Kenwood and Parrot, as well as other car manufacturers like Audi and Volkswagen.
It’s important to note that Android Auto only works with Android 5.0+ devices, which at this moment in time, is less than 5% of you. However, that number will pick up once the Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 get released early next month.
Are you jumping on the Android Auto bandwagon?

Baselworld, Switzerland, 19 March 2015 — TAG Heuer, Google, and Intel have announced a partnership to launch a Swiss smartwatch powered by Intel technology and Android Wear. The effort signifies a new era of collaboration between Swiss watchmakers and Silicon Valley, bringing together each company’s respective expertise in luxury watchmaking, software and hardware.
The collaboration was made official at Baselworld, during a press conference held on Thursday 19th March at the TAG Heuer booth. Jean-Claude Biver, President of the Watch Division LVMH Group and CEO of TAG Heuer, David Singleton, Director of Engineering for Android Wear, and Michael Bell, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Intel’s New Devices Group, joined each other on stage.

Glextor AppManager & Organizer Review
Glextor AppManager & Organizer is the organizer you never knew you needed. Android has endless ways to customize your phone and allow you to have key app access quickly. With home screens, widgets, folders, and phone search you are a short tap away from you favorite tools. Glextor takes this idea and adds even more personal customization. The stock app drawer in android is limited to a few organization features and is generally a place I hardly use. Many apps get lost in the mix of hundreds of applications on your phone. This organizer allows you to have multiple folders all in one place with personal tags to navigate your apps faster.
The saying ” I forgot I even had that” has been said numerous times by me as a power user. My phone has become my life with tie ins to home, finance, games, work, and fitness. Your phone allows for some organization with limited folders and custom home screens but they fall short on capabilities. Glextor takes custom organization to a whole new level giving you dozens of possibilities. The application allows for personal naming of groups but also has generic groups names. You can also tag your favorite apps to have them display first when you open the app. Taking customization into overdrive you can also add your groups on your home screen and change the icon color, size, border, and name. There is also options to back up your settings to keep everything the same when you upgrade your device or operating system.
This organizer lets you customize just about everything from the layout to the look making it easy to highlight important applications. You can also hide applications that you do not use often such as holiday themed programs or icons for wallpaper packages. To add even more to this useful tool you can also revert back to old versions of applications if you find the update is not to your liking. At first glance this just seems like another organizer in the long list of organizers but Glextor has made it stand out among the rest by giving the user endless customization. The only negative found was the amount of options makes initial setup take a long time for picky users. The app has an auto setup at first to gives users a solid foundation to start with. Glextor AppManager & Organizer is free from the play store but also has a paid version allowing for even more capabilities. This is a must have app for anyone using Android that wants to further enhance their experience.

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer will unveil a smartwatch today – is Google involved?

A year ago almost to the day, Google announced Android Wear, a version of Android designed just for smartwatches. Among the several companies that were listed as partners in the announcement, Fossil stood out as the only conventional watchmaker on the list. We haven’t heard anything about Fossil’s Android Wear smartwatch since then, but we do know that Google is at least interested in putting its OS in the body of a more traditional watch.
While Fossil seemingly abandoned Android Wear, Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer is gearing up to release a smartwatch of its own. It’s not clear for now if TAG Heuer embraced Android Wear for its first smartwatch, though comments from CEO Claude Biver seem to hint at that.
According to Reuters, TAG Heuer is partnering with Intel for the mystery device, but Pocket-lint suggests Google is involved as well. Intel has dabbled into making smartwatches before, having bought Basis Science in March 2014.
The watch coming today will be a “digital replica” of the original black TAG Heuer Carrera (a version of which is pictured above); presumably, the device would look just like the Carrera on the outside, while the watch face will be a digital reconstruction of the Carrera’s dial. The device will be announced today, with a release scheduled for this autumn.
All the pieces of the puzzle suggest this “Carrera smartwatch” could be powered by Android Wear, but we have no guarantee for now. But even if Google isn’t involved, the release of Swiss-made smartwatch that looks like a conventional timepiece is still important for the budding field of wearables.
TAG Heuer is expected to make its announcement at 6AM ET, and we will update you with the official info as soon as we can.
Google X’s Astro Teller admits that Glass was not ready
Prior to the shutdown of the Glass Explorer program, Google X’s Astro Teller explained that wearables are not easy to embed into consumers’ lives. He event hinted that the company shift its focus away from Glass shortly before the shutdown. Now, with the device’s successor looming, Teller has commented on why Glass’ first outing failed.
Teller believes that experiencing failure at the start of a product’s life makes it easier for cleanup than doing so later on. Everything remains cost-efficient and simple to alter. He does note that a “mistake-free learning environment” does not exist anywhere. All companies have to deal with mistakes and challenges with their products.
The biggest issue for Google Glass was consumer perception and launching too quickly. The company wanted to get hardware out to the public when it should have waited a bit longer. And, when people learned about Glass, they become concerned with the device’s privacy. Teller had the following to say about the release of Glass:
“We learned a lot on the technology front. Many things like the battery were big obstacles. [Also] to understand how to talk about these things in the real world and figure out how new social norms could be built.”
Teller admits that the company brought so much attention to the device that it became too much for it. Google wanted “to say to the world this is an early prototype.”
