Google launches I/O 2014 website with registration opening on April 8
Google developers conference I/O is due to be held in San Francisco, California, for June 25-26th and today the company launched their website for the event.
Registration for Google I/O 2014 will oepn between April 8th at 5:00am PDT until April 10th at 5:00pm PDT. During that time you can register your interest in the event and after the registration has closed, Google will pick random participants from that list to attend the event.
Tickets cost $900 for general admission and $300 for an academic ticket if you are a full-time student, faculty, or staff member at a high school or higher education institution.
If you can’t make it to San Francisco, or would just rather experience I/O on your own schedule, we’ll be bringing I/O to you in two ways. Watch the livestream of the keynote and sessions from the comfort of your home or office. Or, attend an I/O Extended event in your area. More details on these programs will be available soon.
To be eligible to register for Google I/O, you’ll need a Google+ account and be able to pay for the tickets if selected using Google Wallet.

Google Voice expected to merge into Hangouts this summer
Following trend with Google moving towards one single app that incorporates the functionality of all their social and communication services, it seems Google Voice is to be absorbed into the Hangouts app this summer.
Once the transfer of Google Voice into Hangouts is complete, you’ll be able to make VoIP calls directly from your Google phone number in the mobile app, just like on the web.
Google has already made its Hangout app take over the function of system-wide SMS handling, and come this summer it seems it’ll be able to handle all VoIP communication too.

Google I/O Conference Gets its Dates on the Calendar
Google I/O has finally been scheduled this year, and the dates you should mark on your calendar are June 25th and the 26th. Many of us were wondering when Google was going to plan their developer conference, and it was Sundar Pichai to the rescue.
Apparently there will be a sort of different registration process to get into the event, which Google will announce next month. They don’t plan on doing a first come, first serve registration, but rather have people apply then they will get back to those certain applicants. Probably because they don’t want a bunch of random tech enthusiasts and they want more developers to attend. Let us know if you plan on going.

Google I/O being held June 25 to 26, new registration system coming
Those looking to try to nab a ticket to the 7th annual Google I/O won’t need to scramble the second registration opens this year.
Sundar Pichai, Google’s senior vice president of Chrome, Apps, and Android, just announced that Google I/O 2014 will be taking place in just 126 days from June 25 to 26 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, and this year the company is switching up its registration system.
In the past, it was a mad dash and some luck to get your registration purchase to go through, and more than likely resulted in the system saying a ticket couldn’t be found or it couldn’t complete your purchase with so many people hammering the servers.
Pichai said Google will be implementing a new system, “where you can submit your interest to attend Google I/O 2014″ then “successful applicants will then be randomly selected and notified shortly thereafter.”
More details will be available soon over at +GoogleDevelopers.
If you’re still unsuccessful in registering this year, you can still join in the fun remotely via a live stream and through I/O Extended community events around the world.
In the meantime, check out some highlights from last year and get ready for some big Android news. Maybe, in just 126, we will finally see that infamous Nexus 10 or even a Nexus 8, along with a new version of Android.

Googler Spots A Pair Of Prescription Google Glass; I Am Happy
As someone who is confined to wearing glasses on a daily basis, I’ve had my own (mostly ironic) personal prejudice against Google Glass; such a cool piece of technology that is off-limits to me simply because I possess the very thing that it was named for. So when I first saw pictures of…
