Vodafone UK will be bringing its Wi-Fi Calling service to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge later this year
Vodafone announced earlier today that it will be bringing its Wi-Fi Calling functionality to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in the UK later this year. This is pretty useful for situations when you’re in a location with poor signal, such as travelling via the Underground.
Configuration will be extremely simple once it;s available. All users will have to do is check that their phone’s software is up to date, connect to a Wi-Fi network and switch on Wi-Fi Calling from their device’s Settings, then they’ll be good to go.

Samsung crashes the iPhone 6S launch in London with the Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+
Consumers flocked to Apple’s Regent Street store in London to be some of the first to get their hands on the new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. However, Samsung was there ready to hand out information packages on the Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+.
One thing’s for sure, Samsung worked hard to announce and release the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ ahead of Apple’s year iPhone release. As the old maxim goes, “the early bird gets the worm!” And in this case, Samsung’s doing everything it can to take advantage of that.
Android Central was able to get some stills of Samsung’s aggressive marketing tactics on the streets. Just head over to the link below to see Samsung in action!

[Deal] Score a heavily discounted factory unlocked Galaxy S6 Edge from eBay
If you’re in the market for a new phone and don’t mind buying a slightly older model to save some cash, eBay is running a fantastic deal on a factory unlocked Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. It’s not the newer model with the bigger screen, but the original Edge is just a few months old and it’s still a powerhouse of a phone.
The deal is offering all three colors of the device for just $499, and it’s completely unlocked for any GSM carrier. Plus, it’s a new device, so no seller or manufacturer refurbished catches here.
The list price of the S6 Edge is $999, and although it doesn’t typically sell for that much anymore, the Edge still regularly goes for upwards of $600, so this is a decent discount, especially for how flexible of a phone it is.

Major update, possibly Android Marshmallow, in the works for Samsung flagships
Sources are indicating Samsung has a major update in the works that will be going out to the four flagship devices released this year – the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. According to individuals familiar with the update it is unusually large in size, especially when compared to the usual updates pushed out by Samsung. This has lead some to conclude Samsung may be preparing Android 6.0 Marshmallow to be issued to their devices and perhaps not too long after Google makes their official announcement.
According to some information on the firmware version numbers for the Galaxy S6 Edge, the device is being updated from G925FXXU2COH2 to G925FXXU3COI6. Sources indicate the change from “U2″ to “U3″ indicates significant changes to the user interface portion. However, that may not necessarily mean Android Marshmallow as significant user-facing changes could be part of some new features or improvements Samsung is rolling out for Android 5.1.1.
Sources have also mentioned the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will get Android Marshmallow, although there is no indication that the Note 4 is part of this pending update.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S7 will have two variants too
Barely a month after launching two high profile smartphones – the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 – Samsung is already working on the next generation of Galaxy S series devices. According to SamMobile, the Korean giants will launch two variants of the Galaxy S7, including one with a dual-edge curved display and the other with a normal screen – just like their predecessor.
Samsung has codenamed its upcoming flagship, ‘Project Lucky,’ for internal purposes, while the two variants with model numbers, SM-G930 (regular display) and SM-G935 (curved display) are being called Hero and Hero2. It is not only the display that will differentiate there variants, they will be powered by different processors as well. One version will run on Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 chipset, while the other will house Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC. Earlier we had reported that the S7 will come in two size variants as well.
As for the camera sensor, Samsung is still in a testing phase as the company is working on prototypes with a 20-megapixel ISOCELL sensor and dual-camera sensors. Even the upcoming Galaxy flagship is likely to feature Universal Flash Storage 2.0 (UFS 2.0) just like the current Galaxy S6. Two Galaxy S7 models had earlier appeared on Geekbench with 3GB of RAM and 4GB of RAM.
According to the report, the Galaxy S7 will be launched in Korea, Canada, Europe, China and the US. While there is no word on the handset’s launch in other countries, but it is likely that Samsung won’t overlook its existing markets. In the US, Samsung has Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, At&T, Verizon etc. on board while Bell Mobility is going to be Samsung’s official partner in Canada. In Korea, the handset can be bought from KT, LG Uplus and SKTelecom. We are expecting to see the new Galaxy flagship as early as December 2015.
