Project Ara
Google’s modular phone concept “Ara” could debut in 2015 with a price tag that starts at a mere $50, reports Time . Allegedly, the company developing the devices is set to finish up a working prototype over the next few weeks. Consumer sales could start as soon as Q1 2015.
Galaxy Note 3 Redux
An updated version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could debut later this year with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. According to SamMobile , the device would feature the LTE CAT 6 connectivity (300Mbps) demonstrated at Mobile World Congress this year.
Galaxy Gear to Tizen
According to Tech Radar the OG Galaxy Gear will be receiving new life and will be updated to Tizen OS. The five-month old smartwatch will basically be stripped of all traces of Android and replaced with the new OS, which the new Samsung Gear 2 models run. Surprising, the Tizen firmware UI looks no different than the Android-based firmware.
Amazon Music Streaming
Amazon could be rolling a music service into its Prime account, says Recode . Purportedly, Amazon is “engaged in more serious talks” with record labels and may debut the feature later this year. Much like it does with movies and television shows, Amazon could reward Prime members with access to music.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime
Remember the rumors about a so-called Galaxy F flagship series for 2014? Remember the other rumors about the Galaxy S5 coming in two form factors with one being a premium experience? Well, those two stories seem to be converging, if the latest chatter is to be believed. Set to arrive in May, the so-called Galaxy S5 Prime will be a luxury experience of the Galaxy S5 and is operating under the code name of Project F.
OnePlus
Earlier in the week we shared news about OnePlus’s new phone the One and how they received their first prototype unit that’s now undergoing testing . The same day the announcement came out (Tuesday), evleaks posted a photo of a OnePlus box, so maybe this is the box that said device came in?
MediaTek CPU’s
A leaked MediaTek roadmap surfacing this week tells us the chipmaker has multiple new processors on the horizon. Details include a 1.5GHZ hexa-core CPU, 2.2GHz octa-core CPU, and 1.7GHz 64-bit octa-core CPU. All three are expected to be released and integrated later this year with production coming in the months after.
T-Mobile LG L90
A leaked photo from evleaks tells us that T-Mobile is among the U.S. carriers expected to offer the recently announced L90 smartphone from LG. Pricing and launch details are unclear.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo press images leak ahead of debut
Guess what! The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo (or, Lite) looks an awful lot like the standard version of the plus-sized device. A source close to SamMobile has passed along the press renders of the upcoming device, advising it’s already set to launch on a Belgian retailer’s website. The photos, as you can see here, show the Note 3 Neo looking very much like its original counterpart.
Specifications were not shared with the photos but we already have a solid idea as what to expect. Powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, it should feature a 5.5-inch 720p HD (Super AMOLED) display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (with microSD), and a 3100mAh battery. The Note 3 Neo should also boast the same suite of software and functions such as S Note, Multi Window, Air Command Action Memo, and Scrapbook.
We should look for Samsung to announce the Galaxy Note 3 Neo any day now; however, don’t expect it in the U.S. any time soon.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 begins Android 4.4 KitKat rollout in Poland
Sometimes, even the most massive of updates have humble beginnings. This is the case with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, a device that offered Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upon its debut. We all figured it was just a matter of time before an upgrade to 4.4 KitKat became available to users, and it appears Samsung is now ready to offer it — albeit, on a rather small scale starting in Poland. According to SamMobile, Polish Note 3 owners (for the Snapdragon 800 quad-core version, at least) can now sideload the update through the manufacturer’s Kies software. This is a pretty quiet and restrictive launch, so Samsung hasn’t officially made any announcements, but we have a feeling that the company’s limiting the rollout at first to ensure all of the possible bugs have been squashed prior to worldwide availability.

Samsung and Trek team up to take cycling into the next generation
We’ve noted some products at CES that were a bit out of the norm, but Samsung and Trek, an American bicycle manufacturer, have two prototypes on display this week that could be very useful to cyclists, integrating smartphones with bikes.
The two concept bikes demonstrate the possibilities such as being able to charge a smartphone, a Galaxy Note 3 specifically, while pedaling and through the Galaxy Note 3 mounted to the handlebar or from a Galaxy Gear on the cyclists wrist connected wirelessly to the bike frame-integrated sensor, the cyclist can track statistics such as speed, cadence and distance.
Samsung notes that being able to charge your smartphone just by peddling (not an entirely new concept though) enables you to enjoy long bike rides without worrying about your smartphone battery running low. That’s especially useful if you’re using GPS, maps and other apps.
Hopefully it won’t take too long for these concepts to become reality for consumers.
