Report says Samsung will debut Nexus 10 successor at CES
Take this for what you want, but Digitimes is saying Samsung will introduce a new Nexus 10 at CES next week. The source, which is as wrong as often as it is right, reports that the refreshed device will feature an AMOLED display. As to whether it will actually be branded with a “Nexus” title remains to be seen.
It’s obviously worth pointing out that Asus has been tossed about a few times as the hardware maker behind the next-generation of Nexus 10 tablet. Thankfully, we’ve only got a few days to go to find out whether Digitimes is correct with this one.

ASUS user manual confirms VivoTab Note 8 Windows tablet
ASUS has just verified that a VivoTab Note 8 slate is imminent after it published the manual on its own site. According to leaks we saw earlier at the FCC and elsewhere, the Windows 8.1 device will be powered by an Intel Atom Z3740 quad-core CPU and have 2GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, a 1,280 x 800 touchscreen (which may include Wacom digitizer support), a dedicated stylus, front and rear cameras and a microSD slot. Though the reported specs and $300 price position it closely to the Dell Venue 8 Pro, the VivoTab seems to include the pen, unlike its competitor. All that’s left now is a formal launch with availability and final pricing, which is probably set for a certain little Vegas show.

ASUS Teases Yet Again with Another Video Before CES
ASUS is at it again when it comes to teasing us before CES 2014. A new video title “What’s your number?”, just hit their YouTube channel, and it a very short video that has to do with numerous bouncy balls falling from the sky. Some of the bouncy balls of numbers displayed on them, and the only numbers that are made visible are 4, 5, and 6, and we are scratching our heads on what those numbers mean. The number one speculation is ti has to do with screen sizes, and maybe ASUS will be introducing a line of new devices at CES 2014. Only time will tell, and we will get the information out to you as soo as we find out. In the mean time, check out the short video below, and let us know what you think they are trying to tell us.
ASUS Teases Dual-Boot Windows and Android Device for CES
CES is right around the corner, and if you are in part of the tech field, you are getting a slew of emails a day from exhibitors wanting you to come visit their booths. Not only are the small booths wanting you to check out their new products, big companies like ASUS like to unveil what they have cooking up, at the biggest electronic show in the world. Looks like we might have ourselves a device that has both Windows and Android.
The video below is nice little teaser video from ASUS, that does just what it is suppose to do. It teases us to no end. It shows the Statue of Liberty standing in all its glory, but she seems to holding up two fingers instead of the torch. Miss Liberty then seems to pull apart her famous tablet, and raises one of the pieces high up into the air. Now where it indicates that it is a dual-boot tablet that will have both Windows and Android, is the fact that it turns from blue to green. Blue indicating Windows, and green indicating Android. It is interesting now doubt, and we surely find out more about what ASUS is up to in the next couple weeks.
So check out the video and let us know what your thoughts about it are.
ASUS teases new dual-boot hybrid device with its CES teaser (video)
Just before a big tech show, ASUS likes to wheel out a baffling teaser to get us all in the mood. Normally, the clips involve panning over some brushed metal, promising that the new gear will transform your life. But every now and again, ASUS decides it’s time to travel to a world heritage site for a spot of vandalism. The latest victim is the Statue of Liberty, which throws a peace “V” to the crowd before pulling apart the tabula ansata in the hope of getting a Transformer Book Trio of its very own.
What’s new this time round is that this system somehow supports dual OS in both laptop mode and tablet mode, as indicated by the blue (Windows) and green (Android) flash; whereas the current Trio only does dual boot in laptop mode. On the other hand, the keyboard base appears to remain fully functional as a Windows machine (and may still require a separate monitor). Come CES, we shall take a closer look at this second-gen Trio.
ASUS VivoTab Note 8 leak hints at a cheap, pen-toting Windows 8.1 tablet
Dell’s Venue 8 Pro may soon get some fresh competition. Mobile Geeks has discovered some imagery (albeit of the heavily pixellated variety) and full specs for ASUS’ VivoTab Note 8, an entry-level Windows 8.1 slate with pen input and a worryingly Samsung-esque name. It looks like the VivoTab should closely match Dell’s hardware, with an 8-inch 1,280 x 800 IPS display, a 1.33GHz Bay Trail-based Atom chip, 2GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of expandable flash storage. ASUS may also reuse a few parts from the MeMo Pad HD 7, including the 5-megapixel rear camera, 1.2-megapixel front camera and a 3,950mAh battery. Take the launch details with a grain of salt, however. The image leak has the VivoTab Note 8 arriving during the holidays for $299, but time is running out and a release may not happen until the new year.

ASUS Padfone X Shows Up in AnTuTu Becnhmark
Looks like a new device from ASUS has shown up mysteriously in the AnTuTu benchmarks, and as of now it is named the Padfone X. Seems that ASUS has cooked up another phone to add to the Padfone line, and I am wondering if it will be one of the first phones that is reportedly coming to the United States.
Now As you can see from the screenshot, the phone is pretty high-end in specs. Snapdragon 800 processor, 1920 x 1200 resolution display. 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4, and…5 MP camera? Some of you might cringe when you see that the camera is fairly low in the megapixel department, but that doesn’t really mean anything these days. With the introduction of ultrapixels by HTC, we must remain optimistic when it comes to megapixels in phones. What’s funny is, it doesn’t mention anything about a front-facing camera, which is a bit odd since front-facing cameras are standard in today’s devices.
It’s interesting no doubt, and any device that has an X in it always seems to grab the attention of the community. Hopefully we will found out more information about this phone in the coming months. Let us know if you have heard anything about it.

This is the white Nexus 7 (hands-on)

The Nexus 7 has been out in a black hue since this summer, so it was only a matter of time before Google launched it in white. And this many not come as any sort of shock, but the white version of the ASUS-made Nexus 7 doesn’t pack any unexpected surprises — unless, of course, you were hoping the device would be white on the front and the back (although white is barely visible along the edges when you’re looking at the front). We had the opportunity to play with the KitKat-packing slate today, and your overall user experience will be exactly the same regardless of your color preference. The outside is essentially alike as well, although there are two exceptions: this one has the FCC info printed on the back, which by the way has a glossier feel than the soft-touch plastic on the black Nexus 7. In fact, we were immediately reminded of the feel of the white Nexus 5. If the new hue is for you, they’re already shipping from the Play Store in the US for $270: your only option is a 32GB WiFi-only model. Check out the gallery below for plenty more images.
