The sleek brushed aluminum GT-810 is powered by the Intel® AtomTM x7 processor, Android 5.1 and the latest 2×2 MIMO wireless technology, taking portable gaming to a new level of fun and immersion.
Making games, movies and videos thrilling and immersive, the Predator 8 includes a high- quality FHD display (1920 x 1200) for crystal clear viewing and incredible graphics, while Predator Quadio, four array front-facing speakers with virtual surround sound and red stainless steel mesh, deliver exceptionally realistic stereo audio. High-Octane Performance Keeps it Real
Gamers will appreciate the raw power found on the Predator 8. The newest generation Intel® AtomTM x7 Processor with Intel HD Graphics (Gen 8 –LP) deliver extraordinary graphics and performance, while 802.11a/b/g/n wireless with 2×2 MIMO supports fast connection speeds, processing data at up to twice the speed2 of traditional 1×1 solutions. With this is mind, Acer has kicked off the festivities with the announcement of several new products, including 4 new Acer Liquid phones and a convertible Chromebook. The Liquid Z630 series offers a 5.5-inch 720p display, 8MP front and back cameras, and a 4000 mAh battery. The S model offers an octa-core MediaTek processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while the standard version has a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Pricing for the Z630 will begin at €199 (roughly $224.16) when it arrives in September, though no specific pricing details have been revealed for the Z630S.
Next we have the Z530 series, powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz Mediatek processor. Other specs include a 5-inch 720p display, 8MP front and back cams, and an unspecified battery size. The S model has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while the standard version has either 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, or 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The Z630 will price at €149 and will arrive in October.

On the lower-end you’ll find the Z330 and Z320. Both of these phones offer 4.5-inch displays, Snapdragon 210 processors, 1GB RAM, and 8GB storage. Regardless of what phone you pick up, all of them will feature Android 5.1 with Acer’s UI customizations running on top. The new Liquid family will not be made available for the North American market unfortunately, and instead will be aimed at Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Powered by Intel® Celeron ® processors for fast performance
Up to three times faster1 wireless performance with 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless connection
BERLIN, GERMANY (September 2, 2015) Today Acer, the market leader and pioneer in the Chromebook category, adds the company’s first convertible Chromebook to its line-up, the Acer Chromebook R 11. Tent mode provides an ideal viewing and touch experience in confined spaces such as when traveling on a plane or train.
Push the display back 360 degrees so the Chromebook converts to pad mode for a quick and efficient way to play, share and browse. The Chromebook R 11 supports both landscape and portrait pad modes.
Lighter, Faster, More Powerful
At just 19.2 mm thin and weighing less than 1.25 kg, the Chromebook R 11 is designed to slip into book bags and backpacks effortlessly. The Chromebook R 11 packs style as well as substance. The premium aluminum top cover is imprinted for a uniquely textured metallic finish using Acer nano-imprint technology
The 11.6-inch HD (1366 x 768) screen with wide viewing angle is complemented by an HD webcam with HDR (High Dynamic Range) imaging, with a crisp and vibrant touch screen display. The LED-backlit LCD screen has integrated 10-point touch, supporting Tap, Swipe and Pinch to Zoom gestures so any web page or app can benefit.
“By launching the Acer Chromebook R 11, we are providing our customers with a greater choice of Chrome OS notebooks,” said Jerry Kao, president of Notebook Business Group at Acer. “We already offer a variety of Chromebooks from 11 to 15 inches. Chrome is Secure, Easy to Use and Share in Different Modes

In addition, the Supervised Users feature helps get customers online in a safe, controlled way.

Acer announces Predator gaming smartphone and tablet

Acer has been showcasing two new power-house Android devices at IFA this year. The company’s new Predator smartphone and tablet series is aimed squarely at the performance enthusiasts and gamers out there.
Known as the Predator 8, the new Acer tablet features an 8-inch 1080p display and an Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor. The Atom x7 is a 64-bit quad-core CPU chip accompanied by Intel’s latest Gen8 graphics architecture, with a total of 16 graphics execution units. The Z8700 is the most powerful chip in the current Atom x range. This is backed up by 2GB of RAM and your choice of either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, supported by a microSD card slot.
Acer has included a few nice extras with the tablet too. The Predator 8 is packaged in a lightweight aluminium body and comes with four front facing speakers with support for virtual surround sound. There is also tactile feedback for supported games and a 2×2 MIMO WiFi modem to secure a strong connection to your home network.
The Predator 8 tablet will be heading to the US on November 6th and will start at quite a reasonable $299. The tablet will be heading to the rest of the world in October with a €349 price tag in Europe and ¥2499 in China.

The Predator 6 smartphone is a similarly impressive and powerful beast. The handset is powered by a deca-core MediaTek SoC, 4GB of RAM, 21 megapixel rear camera and a 6-inch FullHD display. We can probably safely assume that the chip in question is the MediaTek Helio X20, which features two powerful ARM Cortex-A72 cores, backed up by eight mid and low power Cortex-A53s.

For the gamers out there, the SoC also packs a high-end Mali-T880 GPU on board. The phone also features quad front facing speakers for superior sound clarity and haptic feedback motors for that authentic gaming rumble. Unfortunately, Acer was a bit light on the launch and price details for this one, but we’ll keep our eyes open for further details.

IFA 2015: Acer announces the gaming-centric Acer Predator 6 smartphone
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
And we’re off! Acer has already completed its press conference to kick off IFA 2015, and one of the most interesting devices they announced is the Acer Predator 6 – a gaming-centric smartphone. There aren’t many smartphones in this day and age that can claim to be for gaming first and foremost, but Acer thinks this is a thing gamers want and alongside its Predator 8 tablet – which we saw announced at Computex earlier this year – announced the Predator 6.
Much like the Predator 8, the Predator 6 smartphone will also rock four speakers to presumably enhance the gaming experience, and also boasts haptic feedback to add vibrations while you’re playing games. The device will also have the new MediaTek Helio X20 processor (which has 10 cores!) and 4GB RAM. Even though it has unnecessary (and totally badass) edges everywhere, the Predator 6 still has sensible smartphone features like a 21MP camera. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of the Predator 6 as the week goes on and more people get their hands on the device.

Acer’s Revo Build is the Project Ara of PCs
Acer has announced the Revo Build M1-601, a super-small Windows 10 unit that can be expanded and customized with a series of stackable blocks. So, in the base unit you’ll find a super small form factor PC that only occupies 125 square millimeters on your table and comes with a low-power Intel Pentium or Celeron chip. Then, if you wanted to expand the machine’s 32GB storage, you can plonk on a 500GB external hard drive in a case that sits perfectly on top. Each block connects to the one below using magnetic coupling and pogo pins, and enabling you to create a PC that looks like a tower of single Duplo bricks the more powerful it becomes.
In one way, this hardware is a less exciting variant on Razer’s Project Christine, which made every component modular in the hope of ending the days of buying new desktops. This version, however, still relies upon a static base unit that, while upgradeable, would still require swapping out every few years. The company hasn’t gone too deep into how expandable this system is, but there have been references to the aforementioned external storage, an audio module and wireless charging plate — while a rogue spec makes mention of a supplementary graphics card block as well as a projector. There’s no word on pricing for these additional pieces, but presumably the company will have to make their version cheaper than just buying a USB hub and external HDD from Amazon, otherwise there’d be little point. We’ll probably find out plenty more closer to launch which is in October in EMEA and December in China, with prices starting at €199 and Y1,999, respectively. Slideshow-316624

Acer’s Nitro notebooks put gaming power into a regular case
Acer has revealed its latest Aspire V Nitro notebooks that are aimed at gamers without looking like gamer laptops. Dressed in basic-black, tapered cases, the 15- and 17-inch models still bring the latest Intel Skylake sixth-gen core i7 and i5 mobile chips and NVIDIA GTX960M graphics with up to 4GB of RAM. You also get up to 512GB of M.4 SSD storage (2GB if you opt for hard disks), 32GB max of DDR4 RAM, USB 3.1 Type-C ports and 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 on the top-end “Black Edition” models. All models can also be had with up to 4K screens. Slideshow-316654
While the Nitro models are less flashy than the Predator gaming notebooks, they’re not a whole lot more svelte. The 15-inch “Black Edition” model does hit 5.07 pounds, though, meaning you can at least slip it into a (strong) shoulder bag. The promised battery life is also pretty decent for a high-powered notebook, at up to 8 hours, but figure on much less for 4K gaming, obviously. The Nitro models start at $1,099 for the 17-inch model and $999 for the 15-incher, but we’d count on a lot more than that if you want to configure it with discreet graphics, extra RAM and an M.2 SSD. They’ll arrive in North America starting in October.

Acer’s latest Chromebook gets a flip-around screen
Acer has announced the Chromebook R11, the company’s first Chrome OS-running device that comes with a 360-degree rotating hinge, as made famous by Lenovo’s Yoga. Your eyes will be staring into an 11.6-inch 1,366 x 768 touchscreen, while below the keyboard you’ll find an Intel Celeron processor paired with 4GB memory and up to 32GB of flash storage. Connectivity-wise, there’s dual-band MIMO 802.11ac WiFi as well as a single ultra-fast USB 3.0 port. The headline feature, really, is the ability to turn that screen whichever way you choose, enabling one of four modes: laptop, tablet, tent or display… much like the ASUS Chromebook Flip. The R11 launches in North America this October with a starting price of $299, with those in Europe, Middle East and Africa getting hold of the gear in November — as long as you’ve got €299 in your back pocket. Acer adds two laptops and a tablet to its Predator gaming line
Acer revealed an aggressive new design for its duo of Predator gaming desktops earlier this month, but at IFA today, the company’s focusing on powerful portability. Acer’s been pretty open about its plan to introduce Predator laptops and a gaming-centric tablet, but until now, details have been sparse. Now, we’ve got the full skinny, starting with the new Predator 15 and Predator 17 notebooks. If you hadn’t guessed already, the main difference between the two is their screen sizes. The Predator 17 sports a 17.3-inch 1080p display, while the smaller model’s 15.6-inch screen comes in full HD and 4K options. Slideshow-316636
Both laptops share Intel’s latest Core i7 processor (i7-6700HQ), up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX980 graphics, up to 32 gigs of RAM and up to 512GB SSDs. The Windows 10 notebooks also feature keyboards will all the backlighting and programmable keys you’d expect from a gaming rig. The laptops will go on sale in North America and Europe in November, starting at $1,500/€1,599 for the Predator 15, and $1,600/€1,799 for the Predator 17.Slideshow-316635
Joining the new laptops today is the Predator 8 tablet (boring name: GT-810), a gaming-focused slate Acer’s shown off a number of times before. While its quirky design with four front-facing speakers that are said to create “virtual surround sound” might not be new, the company’s ready to share a few more details. The Predator 8 runs on an Intel Atom x7 processor, includes 32GB of on-board storage, and has you looking at an 8-inch, 1,920 x 1,200 display. The gaming tab will be launching on November 6th in the US for $300, and in Europe sometime in October for €349.
