iOS 11.4 Launching Today With AirPlay 2 and Messages in iCloud, HomePod to Get Multi-Room Audio And Stereo Pairing
Apple today announced that iOS 11.4 will be publicly released today with support for AirPlay 2 and Messages in iCloud.
The news was first reported by BuzzFeed News, which appears to have published ahead of Apple’s embargo time, so iOS 11.4 isn’t available just yet. The software update should be available shortly after 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
AirPlay 2 support will enable multi-room audio and stereo pairing on HomePods and other compatible speakers. When you add a HomePod to more than one room, for example, the speakers will instantly communicate with each other, allowing users to play the same music everywhere or different songs in different rooms.
