Android 5.1 soak tests rolling out for the LTE Moto G (1st Gen.), Verizon Moto X (2nd Gen.)
Just a few hours ago, Motorola’s David Schuster took to Google+ to confirm that the official Android 5.1 Lollipop update was beginning to roll out to all Moto X Pure Edition devices in the United States. It looks like Mr. Schuster is back at it again, this time with some vital information for Moto X, G and E owners.
According to Schuster, the Android 5.1 Lollipop soak test has just begun rolling out to both the Verizon Moto X (2nd Gen.) and the Moto G (1st Gen.) with LTE in the U.S., which means that if all goes as planned, we could see the official update hit devices as early as next week.

If you happen to own a Moto E (1st Gen.), there’s some news here for you, too. Motorola has run into some problems in the early stages of testing for the Android 5.1 update, which has apparently thrown the development team for a loop. Now that the bug has been squashed, Android 5.1 soak tests will continue to roll out to 1st Gen. Moto E devices in Brazil and India this week. He explains:
Anyway, we feel confident that we now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Since it is a complicated sequence of events that cause this issue we need a few more weeks to validate the fix.
If the Moto E soak test goes smoothly, we should see a wider rollout of the update within the coming weeks.
