If you thought the LG G4 was lacking a bit for power, then you’ll be happy to hear that it’s bigger brother could be packing lots of it. LG isn’t unfamiliar with the practice of pushing out a larger version of its flagship devices – a la the LG G Pro 2 – so it’s no surprise to hear rumours that the Korean manufacturer is readying a device called the LG G4 Pro that will essentially be a bigger, badder version of the LG G4. Headlining the alleged specifications of the G4 Pro are a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM and an impressive 27 MP camera which should put any naysayers firmly to bed.
Other notable specs are a 5.8-inch Quad HD display, a 8MP front camera and is allegedly going to have an all-metal body. If all that has got you salivating, you’ll need to keep hydrating because the device isn’t due out till October – at least, that’s what the report says, and of course that’s after taking this news with a grain of salt. It’s definitely a plausible strategy for LG to engage in, so we’ll have to wait and see if any other LG G4 Pro related rumours drop in the near future.

Want battery life? Oukitel is planning a 10,000mAh beast though it’s actually not that big

If you’re after a smartphone with a big battery, even the largest batteries will only last you about 3 days. But of course, as with all things, if you’re going to do something, do it properly, which is what Oukitel – a relatively new manufacturer on the block – is planning to do. Rather than simply picking a number slightly larger than other manufacturers, Oukitel has decided that it wants to make a smartphone that has a battery capacity of 10,000mAh. “But how big would such a device be?” I hear you say – well, Oukitel has answered and it’s probably not as bad as you might think. As the images below show, the device (or at least its dummy) looks relatively normal – tank-like, but normal – though it’s not like we have another device to compare it with.
Even so, if you’re after long term smartphone battery life – we’re talking at least a week here – then Oukitel’s new phone might just do the trick. Although we don’t have any details about the phone apart from the fact it will run Android 5.1, Oukitel says the device will be released in a few months. We’ll be very interested to see what the end product looks like.

E3 Gameloft demo: obliterate towns with dragon fire on Siegefall

No gaming convention would be complete without paying a visit to Gameloft, one of the biggest mobile game developers around. Countless of their titles have tirelessly cluttered app store top lists and they certainly aren’t planning to slow down anytime soon. Their upcoming trio of games are all but guaranteed to be hits, so you can be sure we got to play around with them at E3 2015.
These games are Siegefall, Despicable Me: Minion Rush and Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War. The former was the most exciting to us, and luckily it was also the one we got a better chance to test.
Siegefall
This game allows you to control troops and attack other bases as you improve your army. Oh, and there’s dragons involved! My first reaction is that this game is awfully similar to Clash of Clans. You can build your base and improve your defenses. Upgrading your weapons and warriors is also possible. The idea is to get as strong as possible and build yourself up in order to keep advancing in this endless race to the top of this magical medieval world.
The main difference with games like Clash of Clans is that Siegefall adopts a bit of a more complex nature. For one, the game’s graphics are among the best we have seen for this style of games. The game is also more complex. Your tactics will play an important part in your battles, as well as the outcome within them, and you have to formulate the best techniques to keep your base strong.

You can choose to be more tactical and play it safe, or you can have fun and unleash your dragons and boulders on enemies, terrorizing them down to their knees. Oh, and I am also loving that there will be both single player and multiplayer modes.
We couldn’t check out all aspects of the game, but it’s looking like one hell of a good time. I am sure I will spend countless hours playing around with it. It is amazingly addictive, entertaining and designed for many, many hours of playing. The game is free to play, too, but there will be some in-app purchases. You can buy gems and use them to upgrade your base/troops or speed up your progress.

Despicable Me: Minion Rush
So let’s move on to the other Gameloft titles we got to take a look at. Are you a Despicable Me fan? If so, you will love Minion Rush. It is an online multiplayer runner game, but it’s not quite like Temple Run or Spider Man Unlimited.
The idea is that you, along with many other minions, would be running down a straight path and trying to beat each other while avoiding obstacles. The difference here is that all minions run at the same speed, so you depend on offensive and defensive weapons in order to get ahead of others. This is not your basic game – it’s fun, interactive and really manages to keep you on your toes.

Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War
We weren’t able to really test out this title due to technical limitations, but we ran around the map and shoot for a bit. In its final release, users will be able to jump into multiplayer matches and start shooting around. It’s your typical war game, with free-for-alls and team death matches. It should be fun and seems like an amazingly well-developed game.

Wrap-up
So these are some of the titles Gameloft will be bringing to the table in the near future, so make sure to stay tuned to our homepage to learn more about them. You can be sure we will be on top of all these awesome games as soon as more details emerge. So far all we know is that Siegefall will be released on all platforms come June 24th, so next week! That sure is fast, isn’t it?
But tell us, guys. Which of these was your favorite?
Scientists freeze molecule to almost absolute zero
Thanks to Elsa’s freezing powers lasers and some advanced techniques, a team of MIT scientists has managed to freeze a molecule to 500 nanokelvins: a temp that’s nearly absolute zero. Not zero degrees Fahrenheit, but absolute zero, which is around -459.67 degrees F — a lot colder than the cold parts of space. See, in their natural state, molecules vibrate, rotate and generally move in a frantic pace like interns working for Miranda Priestly. By cooling them down to the point that they’re barely able to move, scientists can form previously unseen states of matter. According to MIT physics professor Martin Zwierlein: “…with ultracold molecules, you can get a huge variety of different states of matter, like superfluid crystals, which are crystalline, yet feel no friction, which is totally bizarre. This has not been observed so far, but predicted. We might not be far from seeing these effects, so we’re all excited.”
For this particular study, the scientists decided to freeze clouds of sodium and potassium using lasers and evaporative cooling. Then they glued individual atoms together to form sodium potassium (NaK) molecules, which were again subject to laser beams to effectively suck out 7,500 Kelvins of energy in all. To get those superfluid crystals Zwierlein mentioned, though, the scientists have to go even lower than 500 nanokelvins. They also have to experiment with other atoms and molecules, but this is definitely a promising start.

E3 2015 demo: EA Sports FIFA takes the console experience to your phone

We are still here at E3 2015, rocking Los Angeles, CA like there is no tomorrow. There’s plenty to see and cover for you, and we just had to stop by EA’s booth to take a look at their latest soccer mobile game. They call it Sports FIFA. That’s right, it has no year, and you would be right to think that is not the only unique thing about this title.
We have seen soccer games for mobile come and go. The sad thing is none of them really compare to what you get in a console experience. Lackluster controls and inferior graphics usually take a toll on the experience, so more often than not you are left waiting to get home before you can really get down to some ball-kicking time.
With Sports FIFA, EA tries to bring you the ultimate soccer game on your smartphone, and we were actually quite surprised by it. Animations are great and graphics are as good as they get for mobile devices. It is optimized and built from the ground up to be played on a smaller screen.
The joystick and buttons are large and easy to find. Swipes can be used to pass and shoot the ball. You can also simply tap on another player to pass the ball to him. This makes for an amazingly natural way to manipulate your players.

The game itself is also very interactive and fun. You can choose to play your regular single player campaign mode, but the fun begins once you start customizing your own team. One can even buy players from any team, essentially allowing you to build your dream team. Once you have your guys assembled, it’s easy to go online and challenge other users to take on your group of favorite soccer players.
There will be some in-app purchases available, which will allow gamers to purchase the virtual currency in order to speed up their progress. It is a free-to-play game, though, which means you will get a full-fledged FIFA experience for no money, if you choose to keep your pockets full.

Whether you call it soccer or football, fans of the most popular sport in the world will definitely love this game. It really is the closest we have seen any soccer mobile game get to the console experience. Stay tuned to Android Authority for more E3 coverage, as well as upcoming details on the game. There’s no shortage of Nexus rumours circulating the Internet at the moment, the latest of which addresses the rumoured Huawei Nexus smartphone – for anyone not up to date, there are rumoured to be two Nexus smartphones this year, one from Huawei and another from LG. This rumour, which is really more of a confirmation if true, comes allegedly from a Huawei employee working in the UK who, under the shroud of anonymity, confirmed to the International Business Times that Huawei is indeed making a Nexus smartphone and is in very close cahoots with Google. The rumour goes on to say that this is to strengthen Huawei’s standing not only with Google, but with the Western markets which Huawei has traditionally struggled to sell well in.
Unfortunately, the tip from the Huawei employee failed to confirm any details about the device itself, apart from its existence. What we’ve previously heard about the device is that it will be based on the eventual Huawei Ascend Mate 8, Huawei’s annual phablet device, which would make it a 5.7-inch phablet smartphone with a Quad HD display. This news is the closest we’ve got to a confirmation that a Huawei Nexus smartphone is actually happening, but we’ve still got several months – presumably till October – to find out whether any of this is true.

Moto 360 is now receiving Android 5.1.1 OTA
It has been a long time coming, but the Moto 360 is now officially receiving the Android 5.1.1 update. According to a post from Wayne Piekarski, the OTA has started and will continue to hit devices throughout next week. If you don’t get it right away, be patient it will hit your device soon.
Motorola is usually fast at updating their devices to the latest version of Android, but the Moto 360 ran into some issues when trying to update to the latest version of Android Wear. The Moto 360 was having performance issues running Android 5.1.1 due to the Texas Instruments processor not being powerful enough, but they have optimized the software specifically for the device.
One of the biggest additions to Android 5.1.1 is the ability to have your watch connected to WiFi. This allows the ability to be connected without a phone and still receive notifications and connect to the internet. It also brings with it always-on apps, emoji input, media browser, etc. If you would like to view the full addition list, you can view the Android Developer’s blog.

Fox US Open broadcast has live VR streams, drones and 4K cameras
We haven’t connected cutting edge TV tech to golf much since 3D met the Masters, but Fox is promising a live streaming virtual reality setup this weekend during the US Open tournament. It’s working with NextVR — the same company that brought a Malibu beach sunrise streaming live in 180-degree VR to my house in Michigan — so that viewers can pop into any of five camera rigs around the course and peek around like they were really there. According to Fox, this is believed to be the “first live multi-camera VR broadcast experience in history.” This is still in the demo phase so the easiest way to watch is to actually be at the event in one of the properly equipped hospitality areas, or at a Fox Sports location in New York, Vancouver or LA. Even if you can’t catch the live feed, NextVR will have the video ready for its portal that is coming to the Oculus Rift and Gear VR headsets.
Other than virtual reality, Fox will also make use of flying drone cams to cover the event, cameras around the tee box, and microphones embedded in the bottom of every hole around the course. There’s a camera-equipped RC car to provide ground level shots, as well as high frame rate cameras and 4K cameras to provide a better look at each swing.
Having experienced it myself, the virtual reality stream in 3D and high-res video should provide a feeling of being at the course like no other broadcast can. We’re still not to the point where this kind of thing is widely available, but if you need a reason other than gaming to keep an eye on what the likes of Oculus, Samsung, Google and Valve are working on, events like sports are definitely a good one.

NextVR and FOX Sports Partner For Live Virtual Reality Broadcast of U.S. Open
Network’s First U.S. Open Brings Historic First Live Multi-Camera VR Broadcast Experience
June 17, 2015, LAGUNA BEACH, CA – NextVR, a technology company pioneering capture and delivery of live and on-demand virtual reality experiences, and FOX Sports, the sports broadcasting arm for 21st Century FOX, today announced a partnership to bring live streaming VR to the 2015 U.S. Open. FOX Sports inaugural broadcast of this longstanding USGA tradition kicks off on June 18, 2015 with VR viewership available to fans visiting select hospitality areas of the course.
“Our ongoing efforts with NextVR are exactly the kind of relationships we are exploring with our new FOX Lab platform,” said John Entz, FOX Sports President, Production. “Virtual reality is most certainly delivering a new level of excitement to next-generation production possibilities and it will be great to gauge the reactions of the audiences who get to sample it at the U.S. Open this weekend on FOX.”
NextVR is leading the way in providing live, long-form broadcast quality content across all virtual reality devices, to a global audience. NextVR has tested and proven its live delivery platform with the NBA, NHL, MLB, and partnered with FOX Sports earlier this year to broadcast the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in California.
At the U.S. Open’s VIP tents, approximately 100-300 visitors daily can be immersed in NextVR’s live virtual reality experience. Five camera rigs will be placed at premium vantage points around the course. Fans will have the ability in real time, to virtually visit the most active holes and be instantly immersed in the action. NextVR will also live stream the U.S. Open VR experience to FOX Sports locations in New York, Los Angeles and Vancouver.
“We’re thrilled to be working with FOX Sports again and to be part of their inaugural U.S. Open coverage,” said DJ Roller, Co-Founder, NextVR. “This demonstrates FOX Sports’ confidence in NextVR’s technology and their commitment to bring groundbreaking experiences to fans. It’s a major milestone for both companies.”
U.S. Open 2015 highlights as well as other premium experiences will be included on the NextVR portal, which will be available on all virtual reality devices, including Oculus, Samsung, Sony and others. The portal will enable fully-immersive content to be streamed with pristine quality using current home and mobile Internet connections

2016 Honda Pilot debuts with Android
Just last month Hyundai announced that the 2015 Hyundai Sonata would be the first to market in the US with Android Auto. About the same time, Honda also quietly announced that the 2016 Honda Pilot would feature a brand new audio system powered by Google’s Android OS. To be clear, this is not Android Auto, but rather the full Android OS.
Not much has been said about the specs of the device, but we were able to confirm that it runs Android 4.2.2. Here is a complete run down of what we know at this time.
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 8″ WVGA (800×480) Electrostatic Color Touch-Screen
- Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity
- Capacitive controls
- AM/FM/CD
- Included apps: a web browser and a calculator
- Ability to install/update apps and widgets via USB thumb drive
- Launcher has widget support
In the short time I was able to play with the device I was impressed with the speed and responsiveness of the system. It’s surely a vast improvement over the previous generation Display Audio system available in some of their other vehicles. As we get more information we will update you on the specs. In the mean time you can check out the 2016 Honda Pilot at your local Honda dealer.

OnePlus confirms specifications for its next smartphone
A
fter shaking the tech industry last year, Oneplus is set to bring its next smartphone to market. Oneplus already revealed that it’s going to name its next smartphone Oneplus 2. Today, the company’s CEO also confirmed the processor, which is going to drive the whole device and is also going to let users know if this phone is going to be a real flagship. All flagship devices usually carry the latest and most powerful processors available.
According to Oneplus, the smartphone will come loaded with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 810 V2.1 processor. Oneplus did acknowledge the overheating issues with the original 810 processor and collaborated with Qualcomm to resolve the said issues. The outcome of collaboration resulting in the Snapdragon 810 V2.1.
“Although there have been reports that the 810 runs warmer than its predecessors, we assure you that we have taken all the necessary precautions and beyond to prevent this from occurring in the Oneplus 2. We worked very closely with Qualcomm’s engineers to integrate an improved version of the chipset (v2.1) in the OnePlus 2, and fine-tuned both hardware and software. “
For software, the Oneplus 2 will be running company’s own OxygenOS optimized specifically for the Snapdragon 810 V2.1. The processor will be coupled with Adreno 430 GPU which will be sufficient enough to run the high-end games available in the market today. Let’s hope the Oneplus 2 keeps this price down too.
