OnePlus 2 will have a newer version of the Snapdragon 810 processor

oneplus_2_processor

OnePlus has announced new, albeit familiar, processor for the OnePlus 2. They are going with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor for it’s speed and ability to multitask while maintaining great battery life. The chip has eight CPU cores and 64-bit computing. Some other features the 810 can provide are 4K HD video, fast/crisp photos, and immersive 3D gaming brought to you by the Adreno 430 GPU.

Pete Lau, OnePlus’ founder and CEO, shared the news on the company’s forums site:

“Today, I am proud to share with you that our eagerly-awaited OnePlus 2 will come loaded with the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 810 v2.1 processor, engineered for OnePlus and our next generation flagship phone.”

There have been talks in the mobile world that the Snapdragon 810 has overheating issues and other manufactures have steered away from using it because of that. Most notably the LG G4 shipped with the older Snapdragon 808. However, OnePlus says they have taken all the necessary precautions to prevent any issues from happening in the OnePlus 2 by working directly with Qualcomm’s engineers bringing a improved version (v2.1).

Lau also explained the design of the processor:

“Inside the 2, the 810 consists of several CPU processors. Layered on top of these processors is both thermal gel and graphite placed across different areas of the phone. This graphite ensures that heat generated from the processors will dissipate evenly, as opposed to being concentrated and leading to performance issues. After rigorous testing, the 2 meets the industry standard for phone temperature, even with hours of use.”

OnePlus is also stating that OxygenOS has been fully optimized to work perfectly with the new processor. They plan on doing this by setting aside a couple of processors to be used for graphics-heavy gaming while small processor would be used for small things like text messaging. Basically it will be able to decide how much power goes to what and avoids using two or more processors that are beside each other.

CloudPlayer turns cloud storage into a music player

doubleTwist announced CloudPlayer yesterday on their blog. CloudPlayer turns your cloud storage providers into a music player.

Currently, you can connect your Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive accounts to CloudPlayer and play media straight from those sources.

doubleTwist doesn’t restrict you to playing music out of a single source, you can connect multiple accounts in order to increase your music space indefinitely.

On top of being able to pull your music straight form cloud storage sources, the app also supports high-fidelity for lossless audio playback.

doubleTwist didn’t stop there, it even supports Chromecast and AirPlay capabilities allowing users to play their content through a Chromecast or Android TV type player.

Android Authority has a great graphically comparison of Google Play Music and doubleTwist’s CloudPlayer.

OnePlus 2 coming with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, more specs to be revealed periodically

oneplus-2-snapdragon-810

OnePlus shook the industry and really showed other manufacturers who’s boss with the OnePlus One. Sure, it wasn’t the “best” around, but it was pretty damn close and costed about half of what its direct competitors were charging. It offered the best bang for your buck (and probably still does), so it’s no wonder all eyes are on the Chinese startup as the announcement of the OnePlus 2 approaches.

Do you remember when the OnePlus One was about to be announced? The company is known for really hyping up their products, letting fans only catch bits and pieces of information at a time. Well, the madness has begun, just as speculations and rumors had begun to swirl. The OnePlus 2 will launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor on board, which also means it will tout a powerful Adreno 430 GPU.

qualcomm_snapdragon_810_top_pick_ces_2015

OnePlus claims to have gone through plenty of testing with other chips, but kept coming back to the Snapdragon 810, which has proved to be an industry leader in speed, multi-tasking and superior battery life. This chipset will enable 4K video recording, immersive 3D gaming, great camera performance and more. There is one major complaint about the Snapdragon 810, though – it seems to be plagued by overheating issues.

At least these are problems which have shown up in other devices bearing the same SoC, but OnePlus swears this won’t be an issue and the OnePlus 2 will be “cooler than ever”. This is mostly because they are using the Snapdragon 810 version 2.1. This new chip’s improvements, along with hardware and software optimizations, should do the trick… or at least we hope so.

OnePlus then goes on to mention that they will, in fact, reveal the specs piece by piece. Get ready for a bunch of posts like this one!

Are any of you thinking of buying this phone if OnePlus hits the right standards?

Other rumored specs

We can’t confirm other specs yet, but there’s been a bevy of rumors surrounding the topic. It’s said the device could come with 3 GB of RAM and either a Full HD or a QHD 5.5-inch display. Some even say there could be two versions, and the price could start somewhere between $300 and $400 USD.

Google wants you to follow hot search trends in real time

Google's office in Brussels

Never mind waiting until after the fact to find out what people are searching for online — Google wants you to know what’s hot right fricking now. The internet giant has introduced real-time tracking to Google Trends, so you can follow a search frenzy as it happens. If you want to know which basketball team is dominating the buzz over the past hour (spoiler: it’s the Golden State Warriors), you just have to narrow the scope accordingly to see a minute-by-minute graph. The trend page has also been redesigned to put a bigger emphasis on the latest stories, and you can dive deeper into niche subjects and specific regions. Yes, you’re still looking at charts, but this refresh at least gives you a good excuse to visit Google Trends more than once in a blue moon.

‘Star Fox Zero’ will drive you crazy, but in a good way

Last E3, Shigeru Miyamoto, the famed Mario and Zelda creator, made it known that Nintendo was well underway with a new Star Fox game for the Wii U. So when the company kicked off its bizarro Muppets-themed E3 Nintendo Direct earlier this week with the reveal of Star Fox Zero, it wasn’t much of a surprise. The reimagined game, which adheres closely to the initial Wii U mantra that two screens are better than one, is quite simply overwhelming. To say this installment in the Star Fox series requires a steep learning curve would be to grossly understate the complexity of the control scheme. There’s just so much to absorb; so many different controls thrown at you at once.

For anyone that’s ever played any game in the franchise’s history, Star Fox Zero feels immediately familiar. The Arwing’s back and along with it is the anthropomorphic crew of galactic space animals led by Fox McCloud. Corneria, that war-torn planet from the original game, sets the stage for one of two missions Nintendo made available for play on the show floor. The other is an all-range boss battle dogfight that takes place in outer space. But before the rep on hand let me jump into battle, I was entered into a training simulation set within the cockpit of the Arwing.

Before I dive into a rundown of the gameplay, it’s important I start with the ideal “posture” Nintendo recommends for play. On the advice of a nearby rep, I loosely locked my elbows to my sides — just above my hips — and held the GamePad a short distance in front of me. I’ll admit I was initially confused as to what I was supposed to be doing and where I was supposed to be looking. The GamePad is pretty much your “turret” and moving it doesn’t translate into moving the Arwing onscreen; you control that with the left thumbstick. Acceleration and braking are handled by pressing up or down on the right thumbstick, respectively. Meanwhile, the ZR trigger fires off a stream of laser blasts and ZL can be used for a loose lock-on that merely shows you where your target is located.

E3 2015: Star Fox Zero Early Impressions

As if that weren’t enough to juggle, simultaneously pressing down on the left thumbstick and up on the right one initiates a somersault that’ll place your Arwing behind an approaching enemy. Additionally, pressing down simultaneously on both thumbsticks will cause your ship to make a U-turn. Both of those actions are also mapped to the GamePad’s lettered buttons; in this case “X” and “Y.” But wait, there’s more: As you can imagine, your reticle will need (constant) recalibration, so a quick press-in of the left thumbstick will do the trick. As a result of this control scheme brain dump, I pretty much flubbed the training. It was just too much to take in while juggling between screens, tracking enemies and recalibrating my reticle. So the obvious next step for was to jump right into Corneria.

Here is where things started to slowly click into place. As this Corneria battle is set in a land-based, sandboxed area, I had more time to practice using the various control techniques and pick off enemies. With each kill, Star Fox Zero became less daunting and more enjoyable. Soon, I was out-maneuvering rogue ships and picking off enemies from a distance. But then the nearby rep threw another curveball my way: By pressing “A,” you can transform into a bird-like land vehicle with the ability to hover. I didn’t spend much time in this form, but it came in handy when taking out targets placed atop spider-like robots.

It wasn’t until the all-range space dogfight that I realized I was having a lot of fun. Sure, I’d been (politely) cursing non-stop while getting to grips with the controls before, but now I was littering the room with expletives from the intensity of the deep space combat. Free of any landlocked targets, Star Fox Zero makes the most sense. I was at liberty to accelerate and brake at will; to initiate constant U-turns, somersaults and lock-ons. And, most importantly, I felt comfortable shifting between the TV screen and GamePad to chase and successfully take out the Piggy boss.

Whether my sudden comfort with Star Fox Zero‘s controls was a result of my extended playtime (about 10 minutes), I can’t say for sure. Though, the on-hand rep seemed to think that was the case. What I can tell you with certainty is that Star Fox Zero will make you mad, and then it will make you wonder why it took so long for Nintendo to get this classic-in-the-making out on the Wii U.

Xbox 360 game-streaming is coming to Windows 10

XBox 360

As if backwards compatibility on the Xbox One wasn’t enough, Microsoft’s also going to let you stream and play those older games on Windows 10 PCs. In a private demo of the recently announced Xbox One updates, the company confirmed to Engadget that users will have access to this functionality when the new features roll out during the holiday season. (If you’re a member of the Preview Program, though, you should have access to it already.) Microsoft also revealed that Xbox 360 titles relying on the original Kinect, or any other hardware accessories, won’t work with the Xbox One. A spokesperson said the Xbox team wanted to have backwards compatibility on Xbox One from launch day, but it turned out to be a difficult task because of the different system architecture. For your sake, at least it’s here now.

Razer’s Forge TV set-top box now available in the Google Store for $150

Razer Forge TV AA

Razer’s first Android TV-powered set-top box, called the Forge TV, is now available for purchase from the Google Store for $149.99. Not only will you receive free shipping with your order, but the Serval Controller is also included in the package.

Measuring just 104.9 x 104.9 x 17.02mm and weighing 240.4g, the set-top box is quite small compared to other Android TV offerings on the market. As for the device’s internals, it comes with a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, an Adreno 420 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet. The specifications don’t fare well against Nvidia’s newly-released Shield Android TV, though the included Serval Controller (sold separately for a hefty $79.99) is compatible with Android phones and tablets, which should provide some extra functionality to consumers.

Razer Forge TV AA 2

You can now purchase the Razer Forge TV bundle through the Google Store for $149.99, which is also what the device is going for on Amazon. It should be noted, however, that the set-top box has earned itself a sad 1.8 out of 5 star rating on Amazon. With that being said, the 16GB Nvidia Shield Android TV is available for just $50 more on Amazon, which may be a better option for you.

Nest unveils new wave of products and software for 2015

nest_products_living_room_2015

Today, Nest announced two new products along with some software updates. The Nest Cam and Nest Protect have been introduced with entirely new designs while the Nest Learning Thermostat has received a software update with new features. Also, with people owning multiple devices from Nest, the company has condensed controls and settings into a single app. Everything from Nest looks and feels new and improved for 2015.

nest_protect_2015_official

The Nest Product, which has already been around for some time, now features a design that is 11% smaller than its predecessor. It has a split-spectrum sensor to detect fires, app silence for false alarms, sensors that last up to ten years, alarm testing from your phone, sound check, and easier installation with an altered backplate and battery door. Both the old and new Nest Protect model gain a feature called Nightly Promise. Once the lights are turned off in a room, the Nest Protect will briefly glow green to assure homeowners that everything is fine. If not, the glow will transition to yellow and require assistance.

Most importantly, the Nest Protect will continue to monitor for smoke and carbon dioxide as the first residential alarm with custom sensors.

The Nest Protect has a price tag of $99 and will ship next month.

nest_cam_2015_official

Nest’s acquisition of Dropcam proves its value with the debut of the Nest Cam. The Nest Cam, which as the name suggests, is very similar to that of Dropcam in that it captures video in real-time and streams it securely. The video quality of the Nest Cam is 1080p and, over WiFi, streams about as clear as you can expect from that resolution. Nest also included an improved night vision mode because of eight high-powered infrared LEDs that have motion detection. The Nest Cam automatically switches between day and night views so changes in lighting will have no effect on video quality.

Those who want access to ten or thirty days of content can take advantage of Nest’s subscriptions. The monthly fee, which costs $10 or $30, includes an alert summary and video editing to produce clips totaling three hours. The Activity Zones feature allows Nest Cam owners to focus on a particular area in order to receive activity alerts.

The overall design of the Nest Cam has changed, too, from its Dropcam counterpart. The magnetic base sticks to metal and the device can also be mounted to walls or used on a universal tripod. The Nest Cam is versatile in that regard in addition to twisting and bending.

YouTube, another member of the Google family, has stepped up to help Nest with its newest product. With the Nest Cam, YouTube content creators can stream directly to the service. Initial participants for Nest Cam + YouTube include Unbox Therapy, Devin Supertramp, and iJustine.

Aside from the optional monthly fee for extra features, the Nest Cam costs $199 and ships this month.

Nest_Thermostat_Cooling_01_TA

There is not a new model of the Nest Learning Thermostat, but its v4.5 software update is here. The software update brings with it temperature alerts regarding the safety of people or pets, emergency alerts directly on the thermostat, Nest Protect teamwork for emergencies, and controls of up to twenty thermostats.

All of these products work with the revamped Nest app.

Nest Refreshes Entire Product Line

Nest Cam and Nest Protect Completely Redesign, Nest Learning Thermostat Gets Software Update and New Features, One Nest App for All Products

Palo Alto, California — June 17, 2015 — Nest Labs, Inc. ( www.nest.com ), architect of the thoughtful home, today announced sweeping refreshes and redesigns across the company’s entire product portfolio with the introduction of Nest Cam, the second generation Nest Protect, new features for the Nest Learning Thermostat, and a brand new app.

• Nest Cam – With full high-definition (1080p) video quality, a versatile stand, and improved motion alerts and night vision, the new Nest Cam allows people to keep an eye on what they care about from anywhere. And beginning next month, Nest Cam will be available in Europe.

• Nest Protect – The second generation Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarm is the first residential alarm to offer a custom, Split-Spectrum Sensor that uses two wavelengths of light to look for different types of fires. Also, Nest Protect alarms can now be silenced from your phone.

• Nest Learning Thermostat – The best-selling Nest Learning Thermostat is getting even better, now notifying customers when temperatures drop to help avoid frozen pipes and adding new integrations with other Nest products.

• Nest app 5.0 – The redesigned Nest app 5.0 brings together all three Nest products, across multiple platforms, for the first time, making it easier to access and control Nest products.

“At Nest, we always wanted to build more than a thermostat,” said Tony Fadell, Nest chief executive officer. “Our vision was to create a thoughtful home – a home that takes care of itself and the people in it. Five years later, all the pieces are in place. We’ve built a portfolio of best-in-class products that each stand on their own while doing more together. More than 9,000 developer partners are using the Works with Nest developer program to help seamlessly integrate everything from washers and dryers to cars with our thermostat, smoke alarm and camera. And we’re working with energy and insurance partners to bring more value to our shared customers. Nest products are used in 190+ countries, across multiple platforms, and available wherever people shop. The result? Energy saved, lives spared, and countless memories recorded and shared.”

Nest Cam
With live video streaming to a phone or computer, Nest Cam gives people peace of mind and the ability to stay connected to the things they care about. The all-new Nest Cam builds on the Dropcam features customers love, adding better video quality and a new design to make it even easier to keep an eye on your home. Nest Cam will be available for the first time in Europe, specifically in Belgium, France, Ireland, Netherlands and the U.K.

New Features:
New design – The new stand’s magnetic base can stick to metal, be mounted to the wall or screwed onto a universal tripod. It can twist around, bend at an angle, or be mounted upside down. The stand incorporates a rare-earth magnet and ¼ inch, 20-screw mount, so you can securely place it in even more locations. Its body design provides three degrees of freedom so customers can capture the view they want.

Video quality – Nest Cam delivers crisp 1080p HD over Wi-Fi so customers can see the finest details across the room.

Secure streaming – Stream and store video content with a unique 2048-bit RSA key and securely transmit using a 128-bit SSL connection.

Improved Night Vision – Eight high-powered infrared LEDs and new algorithms improve Night Vision and motion detection. Other home cameras give you a spotlight view at night, but Nest Cam lets you see the entire room. And because Nest Cam’s sensors know the difference between a flashlight and sunlight, Night Vision won’t get confused and switch to day mode every time a bright light passes in front of the camera. That can be hugely helpful if an intruder turns on a flash light, or if headlights flash across your window.

Nest Aware with Video History – Customers can subscribe for an additional monthly fee to gain access to:

  • • Video History – Scroll through 10 or 30 days of content depending on your subscription choice so you have extra time to see what happened and save the stuff you want to remember.
  • • Alert Summary – If something happens, you don’t have to dig through hours of video to find it. Nest Aware with Video History highlights the moments when there is motion or sound and shows you what happened.
  • • Clips & Timelapses – Make, save and share up to three hours of clips.
  • • Activity Zones – Create custom Activity Zones around areas of interest – such as a door – so you can be alerted of any activity in a specific area.
  • • Advanced motion sensing – Nest Cam uses the power of the cloud to provide more accurate alerts and detect areas where common false alarms occur, like ceilings.

Nest Cam + YouTube Together with YouTube, Nest is piloting the ability for YouTube creators to stream directly to YouTube Live from Nest Cam, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at their favorite personalities. Initial participants include:

Unbox Therapy – Lewis Hilsenteger has built a subscriber base of more than two million by sharing the unboxing process of a wide range of consumer electronics products. Lew will use Nest Cam to set up a live stream of his production studio.

Devin Supertramp – Devin Graham is an American videographer who produces adventure and extreme sports videos. His channel has more than three million subscribers. Devin will use Nest Cam to give his viewers a live look at the preparation that goes into his amazing stunts.

iJustine – Justine Ezarik is a techie, gamer, vlogger and a top personality on YouTube with more than three million subscribers across her channels. Justine plans to use Nest Cam as a way to live stream some of her special events.

“I bought a Dropcam a few months ago and used it to set up a public live stream of my office on my website,” said Lewis Hilsenteger, the creator of Unbox Therapy. “The response was overwhelmingly positive – my audience loved having a behind-the-scenes view of my production studio. And now, being able to stream directly from the new Nest Cam – in full HD – to my YouTube channel means that it will be even easier for Unbox Therapy subscribers to get that inside look without having to leave YouTube.”

In addition, Nest has enabled some of the most popular camera feeds to stream directly to Nest’s YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/nest) so people can see live video of everything from puppies to scenic landscapes – all in one place.

Nest Protect
According to the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), 60 percent of fire deaths in the U.S. happen when there’s no smoke alarm or the smoke alarm failed to operate. The second generation Nest Protect has new features to help people know the alarm is working and running safely, and it now has up to a ten- year product lifetime. Like the first generation Nest Protect, it does more than just sound an alarm. It speaks to you, telling you what and where the problem is.

New features:
New design – The second generation Nest Protect is 11 percent smaller and sits more flush against the ceiling or wall. It has a stainless steel screen with tiny hexagonal holes designed to let in smoke for assessment while keeping everything else out. And the light ring now shines even brighter for a better Pathlight.

Split-Spectrum Sensor – Inside the new smoke chamber, Nest Protect uses two wavelengths of light to look for both fast- and slow-burning fires.

App Silence – Nest Protect warns you of danger, but if everything’s under control, you might not need that sound anymore. Now you can hush false alarms from your phone or tablet using the new Nest app.

Up to 10-year product lifetime – Nest Protect’s updated sensors provide customers with a new, longer product lifetime of up to 10 years before the device needs to be replaced.

Safety Checkup – The NFPA recommends you test your alarms once a month. Now, you can test the sensors, power, Wi-Fi connection, horn and speaker on all your alarms, right from your phone.

Sound Check – Once per month, Nest Protect automatically tests the speaker and horn – quietly and quickly – using a built-in microphone.

Easier installation – A redesigned backplate helps get Nest Protect level when placing it on your ceiling or wall, and an easy-to-open battery door makes battery replacement easier than ever. Nest Protect also includes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to improve pairing during setup.

New feature for both first and second generation Nest Protects:
Whole Home Nightly Promise – Nightly Promise shows you Nest Protect’s sensors and batteries are working with a quick green glow after you turn off the lights, or a yellow glow if Nest Protect needs attention. Now, instead of only indicating the status level of the Nest Protect in the room you’re in, Nightly Promise will indicate the status of all Nest Protects throughout the home so you can sleep safe and sound.

Safety Rewards: Save money by being safe
Just like a car alarm can reduce your car insurance premium, having a Nest Protect can reduce your home insurance premium. Building on the success of Nest’s energy partner program, Nest is partnering with forward-looking home insurance companies to help people stay safe while saving money on their insurance policies. Four out of five firefighters would trust Nest Protect to protect their homes, and insurance companies know that Nest Protect can keep families safe from smoke and carbon monoxide. They’re working with Nest to give eligible customers a Nest Protect for less – or even at no cost. Additionally, through Nest Safety Rewards, a participating Nest insurance partner may give you a discount on your annual premiums.

Customers who elect to participate in Safety Rewards can share basic summarized information with participating insurance companies to verify that their Nest Protects are working. Specifically, once a month, Nest will tell a participating customer’s insurer if:
1. Nest Protect’s batteries are charged
2. Its sensors are working
3. Its Wi-Fi connection is good
These monthly reports do not include whether the alarm went off, and even if a customer’s Nest Protect temporarily loses power or Wi-Fi connectivity, it won’t impact the benefits Nest’s insurance partners offer through Safety Rewards. And of course, customers can opt out of Safety Rewards at any time from within the Nest app or by contacting their insurance company.

American Family, a multi-line insurer based in Madison, Wisconsin that operates in 19 states, and Liberty Mutual Insurance, the third-largest property/casualty insurer in the U.S, are the first insurance partners to provide offers as part of Nest Safety Rewards. Customers can enroll with American Family in Minnesota starting today and with Liberty Mutual Insurance in Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin starting this summer. Both American Family and Liberty Mutual Insurance are exploring plans to expand the program to additional markets.

Visit www.nest.com/insurance-partners to sign up for Nest Safety Rewards or to learn more.

Nest Learning Thermostat software 4.5
The Nest Learning Thermostat is adding new features to both first and second generation products, and also has a new integration with Nest Protect to help keep Nest customers safer and more comfortable.

New features:
Safety Temperature Alerts – Nest now sends a message to your phone if your home gets too hot or too cold. So you’ll get a notification if your pipes could freeze or a pet could overheat. When the temperature returns to normal, Nest will let you know.

Nest Protect Emergency Alerts – If you have a Nest Protect at home, you can now see smoke and CO alerts right on your thermostat. The more places you see an alarm, the more chances you have of catching a problem early.

Nest Protect Emergency Shutoff – Some heating systems can be a source of CO leaks. Others can make a fire worse by spreading smoke throughout your home. Now your Nest Thermostat and Nest Protect can work together to turn off your forced air heating/cooling system in a smoke or CO emergency.

Improved multi-zone homes – Control up to 20 thermostats, per home, from within the app. The thermostats will work together to save energy and coordinate Auto-Away.

Nest app 5.0
For the first time you can control all of your Nest products from a single app. The fifth generation Nest app for your phone, tablet and computer has a new look and added features that make it easier to control all your Nest products, and your existing Dropcams. Customers can use the Nest app in any browser and on both Android or iOS devices (iOS 8.0+, Android 4.0+).

Key Features
Home Screen – Each Nest Thermostat, Nest Cam or Dropcam has its own spot, while all your Nest Protects roll up into one icon. You can also see live video previews of all your Nest Cams on the home screen so you can get a quick glance of different rooms.

Nest Learning Thermostat – It’s now easier to get to and use popular thermostat functions like Energy History, Heat/Cool mode and schedule.

Nest Protect – Provides access to Safety Checkup, which lets you test all your alarms from the app, and App Silence lets you hush false alarms from your phone.

Nest Cam and Dropcam

Nest Cam and Nest Protect (2nd Gen) available on the Google Store

nest_cam_2015_official

Nest just finished up its press conference today, revealing the new Nest Cam and Nest Protect (2nd Gen). Both products are available on the Google Store today.

Nest announced the two products earlier today, along with software updates for its thermostat and an overhaul for its Android and iOS apps.

The Nest Cam will run you $199. However, the Nest Protect (2nd Gen) is a tad cheaper at $99. If you’re not interested in the new Nest Protect, the old one has been discounted to $79.99.

Keep in mind that the Nest Cam isn’t just $199, the company will require a subscription for access to video history, alert summaries, better motion sensing, and more.

What do you think of the new Nest Cam? Are you picking one up, despite the subscription costs?
