Facebook has had autoplay integrated into its social network for some time now. Now, Twitter is finally offering the feature on its own social network.

When your scroll through your Twitter feed and find a video, Vine or GIF, they will begin to play automatically, no tapping required. Think of it as a small preview of the video.

If you decide the video is worth watching, you can tap it for sound and a full-size view of the video. Again, it’s the same feature Facebook has had for some time now, but makes things more seamless, significantly reducing the amount of taps it takes to access meaningful content.

Similar to Facebook, Twitter isn’t forcing autoplay on you. If you so desire, you can head into your account settings and disable the functionality.

As far as new features go for the 140-character social network, Twitter will be removing the character limit in Direct Messages next month.

The feature is currently only available for twitter.com and iOS users. The update for Android will be rolling out soon, though.
