Facebook’s Moments app brings together photos from your friends’ phones
Hundreds of pictures are taken whenever family or friends get together. It can be at dinner, a party, or on a hike. People just love to take pictures. The only issue with that is merging them into an album. Everyone inevitably shares the photos in albums of their own, but it would make much more sense to just have one. Facebook believes to have solved the problem with the introduction of Moments. The newest app from Facebook groups photos from friends based on the people in them and their location. Friends have the option to merge them into a single album that syncs for everyone. The photos are searchable (in terms of the people in them) and can be downloaded to save on your device. Photos remain organized based on the event and can be sorted by date, location, and people.

Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 official in Taiwan
After a bevy of rumors, Samsung has introduced a new budget-friendly tablet in Taiwan, dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Tab E.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab E (SM-T560) is by all means a low-end tablet. It features a 9.6-inch 1280 x 800 9.6-inch TFT display. Powering everything under the hood is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage. It has a 5,000mAh battery and is running Android 4.4 KitKat.
The device will be hitting brick-and-mortar outlets by the end of June, and will sell for as low as $225.
Samsung hasn’t revealed any details concerning availability in other markets. It’s certainly a device for a developing market, so the most expansion we’ll probably see is in a handful of countries in Asia.

[Deal] Motorola drops the Moto X (2014) to $299 with a 30-day return window
Motorola has made it pretty clear that two-year contracts are becoming obsolete. The phones released by Motorola in the last two years have been some of the best when it comes to off-contract options. Starting today and ending on June 29, the Moto X (2014), which was priced at $349 without a contract, drops to $299 after a $50 rebate. To sweeten the deal and make it less risky, Motorola has applied a 30-day return window.
The money saved from the rebate is actually applied once the 30-day window closes and the buyer completes a survey for Motorola.

LG G3 won’t get Android 5.1, could jump straight to Android M, report says
It looks like the LG G3 won’t be getting the jump to Android 5.1, according to a social media post from LG Hellas. In fact, the device could jump straight to Android M.
There aren’t any immediate plans to offer the minor update to its LG G3 users, LG Hellas said in its post to social media. However, this isn’t new to LG. After all, the LG G3 went from 4.2 to 5.0, skipping the minor 4.4 update.
If that’s anything to go by, we could just see the device jump straight to Android M, which users probably wouldn’t mind, considering that 5.1 doesn’t bring much to the device anyway.
Read more: LG G3 review: everything you want in a smartphone
The major feature 5.1 brings to smartphones is Factory Reset Protection, which puts an extra layer of security over the factory reset option. It’s supposed to help defer thieves. But, who really uses that, let alone knows about it?
The LG G3 certainly has the hardware to support and run Android M, with plenty leftover. In fact, with Doze and App Standby on-board, along with a myriad of performance tweaks, users might even find the device running better on M.
Of course, if you’re smitten on downloading Android 5.1 to your LG G3, there’s always the option of rooting and flashing the image on your device. And if that’s your intention, you mine as well just take the Android M Developer Preview for a spin.

Samsung Galaxy Tab E official, packing relatively low-end specs

Last week the Samsung Galaxy Tab E leaked, packing relatively low-end specs, at least according to the leaked information. Now Samsung has gone and made the device official, at least for the Taiwanese market.
The Galaxy Tab E is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1.5GB RAM, though Samsung has yet to specify what exact CPU it is packing. For what it’s worth, rumors previously pegged it as touting a Spreadtrum SC7730SE. Turning to the other specs, you’ll find a 9.6-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800, 8GB storage, microSD expansion, a 5000 mAh battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat. While KitKat is more than a little dated at this stage, it is likely that Lollipop simply didn’t perform well enough with these obviously low-end specs. The Tab E SM-T560 is a Wi-Fi only device, it is fairly likely that a cellular variant will arrive at some point in the future.
Let’s be honest, this tablet’s specs and hardware are more than a little disappointing, especially considering the asking point of $225. At this asking price, you can find a number of competing alternatives that offer much more power under the hood. It’s currently unclear if or when this tablet might arrive outside of Taiwan, though we’ll be sure to let you know if/when we learn more.
Google Maps will tell you if your destination will be closed upon arrival
We have all been there. You hop on your car without a worry and tell Google Maps to take you to one of your favorite restaurants… only to get there and find out the darn place is closed! This is frustrating, especially knowing Google Maps has hours and other information on hand. But worry not, for the latest Google Maps will help you avoid those disappointing and pointless trips.
The latest update to Google Maps includes a feature that makes total sense. Upon asking for directions, Maps will check your destination’s hours (if available) and let you know if the place will be closed by your estimated arrival time. A simple and clean notification will also present you with the hours of operations for that day, as well as the estimated time of arrival. You can easily cancel navigation after receiving this message.
Pretty convenient, right? Don’t go testing it just yet, though. Google seems to be feeling very generous today, as there is another significant feature added to Maps. In addition to pulling information from Gmail about flights and hotels, Google Maps will now also uses data from car rental-related emails. All the user needs to do is access the “my events” section. Oh, and if you want the full rundown of this update, we should add that there was also the usual round of bug fixes.
Google Maps is one of the most important services for Android users (or anyone, really), so we are glad to see the recent onslaught of improvements the service has received lately. From the recent inclusion of real-time transit information to Navigation sharing and upcoming offline features, these are all updates that will surely make our trips much more pleasant.
Head over to the Google Play Store to test out this new update. And don’t forget to hit the comments section and tell us how well these new features are treating you.
Ubisoft’s ‘The Division’ arrives on March 8th, 2016
Ubisoft’s The Division has seen a protracted development cycle, to say the least — the studio unveiled the Tom Clancy-badged online shooter back in 2013, and a release has been elusive ever since. At last, though, you have a date to mark on your calendar. The apocalyptic title will reach the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 8th, 2016, and Xbox One gamers will get their chance to play in a closed beta test in December. PC and PS4 players will also get a shot at playing early, but Ubisoft is coy about details beyond an early 2016 testing window.
It could be worth the wait, whichever version you’re playing. At its onstage E3 event, Ubisoft made a big deal of how The Division‘s “Dark Zone” will have you questioning the loyalty of other human players, including your teammates. That could lead to some griefing by less-than-friendly players, to be sure, but it’ll also add an extra level of tension to a game that already promises to be pretty vicious.

Ubisoft’s ‘Ghost Recon Wildlands’ is an open-world tactical shooter
Well, here’s something you probably didn’t expect from Ubisoft’s E3 event: an open-world Ghost Recon game. The developer’s just-unveiled Ghost Recon Wildlands has you fighting a Bolivian drug cartel using whatever means you see fit, whether it’s sniping targets from a distance, sneaking in under cover of night or simply causing chaos. Vehicles will play an important role, and it’ll also be important to get help from (or be wary of) locals. Ubisoft is saying precious little about when Wildlands will show up or what its mechanics are like, but it’ll have both co-op and solo play when it arrives on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
