Electronic Arts gives mobile a segment during its E3 2015 press conference
This afternoon in Los Angeles, Electronic Arts took the stage for its E3 2015 press conference. The company covered everything from gaming in the living to gaming with mobile devices. Statistics in mobile gaming were offered and EA Mobile announced new titles and updates for existing ones. EA Mobile games have been downloaded over 715 million times in the last year throughout the world with nearly 500,000 years of gameplay recorded. Mobile gaming, according to EA, is a platform that requires as much attention as console gaming.

Minions Paradise
Upon sinking a cruise ship, Phil and his fellow Minions are required to convert a deserted tropical island into a paradise. Minions Paradise hands players the controls of the island now filled with Minions working together to perform various activities and complete tasks. The game, which will be released this summer, is customizable, allowing players can control what their version of paradise is. The villains from the films are in the game, too, and the Minions can work to build a special resort for them.

EA Sports FIFA
The high-end gameplay from the console version will makes it way to EA Sports FIFA. The developer will no longer release a new title each year. Instead, EA Sports plans to update its soccer game with appropriate enhancements and expansion packs. EA Mobile calls it the “next generation of FIFA for mobile.” The update will presumably come this fall.
Madden NFL Mobile
Madden NFL Mobile, like EA Sports FIFA, will be updated annually to stay current. EA Sports also introduced Season Score, a form of points that can be used when the game is updated on August 19.
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes
The star of the press conference hosted by EA this afternoon was clearly Star Wars-related titles. After all, the next film will be released in December just after Star Wars: Battlefront launches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The role-playing game developed by EA Capital Games for mobile devices is Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
Here is how John Salera, EA Capital Games’ executive producer, described the game:
“When we set out to make STAR WARS: GALAXY OF HEROES, we wanted to tap into the fantasy of collecting characters and starfighters and then let people enjoy the fun of playing with them creatively. We’re bringing this idea to life by allowing players to take part in battles with collections of their favorite heroes, characters, and ships from across the Star Wars™ universe. From the classic trilogy and Star Wars Rebels™ and Star Wars™: The Clone Wars™ animated TV shows, to the prequels films and beyond, we’re giving players a truly extensive Star Wars experience.
We have a great partnership with the talented folks at Lucasfilm and Disney Interactive. It is that collaboration that has enabled us to deliver a unique mobile experience that brings the vastness of the epic Star Wars franchise into the palm of your hand, available later this year on the App Store and Google Play.”
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes will be released later this year for mobile devices.
