SoundHound introduces ‘Hound,’ a new conversational digital assistant
If you’re looking to move away from the Google Now search assistant, which is receiving some major updates in the near future, SoundHound has a solution for you. Yes, SoundHound. And, they call their digital assistant simply “Hound.”
For now, you can only use the digital assistant if you’ve received an invite from SoundHound. However, from the preview below, Hound seems like it could prove to be a potentially excellent search assistant within the market of other big players, such as Siri, Cortana, and Google Now.
Hound does work in a similar way to other digital assistants. You can ask it for the weather, place phone calls, send text messages, find directions, and etc. But, where Hound plans to standout from the crowd is the ability to have a normal conversation with it. No more fumbling around with silly keywords–it’s just like talking to another person.
It’s actually quite impressive. See it in action for yourself in the promo video below.
