Nintendo is not “planning to adopt Android” for its next console
The next video game console released by Nintendo will not have Android involved in its software. The company denied Monday’s report that the NX would have Google’s mobile operating system running at its core.
Nintendo spokesperson:
“There is no truth to the report saying that we are planning to adopt Android for NX.”
Deciding to go with Android for the NX would have likely led to Nintendo working hard to combat piracy and security vulnerabilities. Online services for a video game console are attacked on a less frequent basis than a mobile operating system.
