Sprint adds OneDrive for Business cloud storage to business offering
Sprint continues to build out their Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) offering that targets business customers by adding 1TB of cloud storage per user to each account for no extra charge. The cloud storage solution will be provided to Sprint customers by Microsoft OneDrive for Business and will be made available to new and existing customers.
Sprint notes that use of cloud storage options can help businesses control their operating expenses as they can save money by purchasing phones for employees with only 16GB of internal storage instead of opting for more expensive phones with more embedded memory. Sprint also hopes businesses will be enticed by OneDrive’s support for file sharing and collaboration features.
Sprint’s MaaS product was launched back in July and gives business customers a selection of devices to add to the program, 12 or 24 month terms, and a variety of data options. All of this is provided at a predictable monthly cost. Sprint also stresses that their MaaS program provides extended warranty coverage and “white-glove” technical support. The addition of a cloud storage option helps sweeten the pot and Sprint indicates they will be adding anti-virus options to MaaS in the near future.
